CO Ammunition Capacity Ban Sponsor Diana DeGette Thinks Ammunition Magazines Cannot Be Reloaded

Colorado Representative Diana DeGette, gun control bill sponsor, of a ban on high capacity ammunition magazines/clips, is the perfect example of why lawmakers that know nothing about weapons, guns in particular and how ammunition magazines function, should not be attempting to write laws about them.

The video below shows Ms. DeGette saying "I will tell you these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those know they’re going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available."

Anyone with an actual clue, understands that magazines can be reloaded.

Denver Post reports that after her "pretty stupid" assertion, her office in an attempt to mitigate the damage, offered up another "erroneous statement."
DeGette spokeswoman Juliet Johnson on Wednesday said the senior congresswoman from Denver "misspoke" and then issued another erroneous statement about guns.

"The congresswoman has been working on a high-capacity assault magazine ban for years and has been deeply involved in the issue; she simply misspoke in referring to 'magazines' when she should have referred to 'clips,' which cannot be reused because they don't have a feeding mechanism," Johnson said.
Actually, clips in most guns can be reused as well.
[Update] Following DeGette's show of ignorance, Barack Obama shows he doesn't know the difference between a fully-automatic weapon and a semi-automatic weapon.... or he does and he just lied.
