TELL THEM TO FIND ANOTHER COLLEGE...I wonder if the blacks are there on scholorships ?

Black Students At Washington & Lee University Demand School Denounce The “Lee” Half

If you’re offended by the name of a college, why would you attend it?
The National Review is reporting that black students at Washington and Lee University in Virginia are demanding the school denounce and apologize for the “Lee” part of their namesake.
Robert E. Lee was president of the school after the Civil War. The students are demanding that the school apologize for Lee’s “racist and dishonorable conduct,” ban Confederate reenactors from the campus on the Lee-Jackson holiday and remove Confederate flags from the chapel. Lee is also buried on the school grounds beneath the campus chapel (but don’t tell these students that – they’d probably want to dig him up).
W&L is a very white campus. Only about 3 percent of students are African American. Those who attend the school say they were told it was a diverse campus.
“They assured me it was a welcoming environment where everyone sticks together as a community,” Student Dominik Taylor said. “Then I came here and felt ostracized and alienated.” Taylor said he is a descendant of slaves on his father’s side.
The students’ efforts have surprised the private Southern school. Founded in 1749, the university is named for President George Washington, who endowed a $20,000 gift to the school, and Lee, who served as its president after the Civil War.
Lee, who died in 1870, is buried on the school grounds. His memorial inside the chapel is decorated with battle flags.
