Democrat heading bridge probe says Christie could be impeached if he knew of closures

Traffic crosses the George Washington Bridge linking New Jersey to New York on July 15, 2012.
The chairman of a New Jersey legislative panel investigating the George Washington Bridge lane closures said Gov. Chris Christie's top aides had engaged in a "cover-up" and the governor could be impeached if it is determined he was aware of efforts to use the bridge for political purposes.
"Using the George Washington Bridge, a public resource, to exact a political vendetta, is a crime," New Jersey Assemblyman John Wisniewski, who is spearheading the bridge probe, told NBC News on Saturday. "Having people use their official position to have a political game is a crime. So if those tie back to the governor in any way, it clearly becomes an impeachable offense."

In a news conference on Thursday, Christie denied any prior knowledge of plans to use lane closures on the bridge as political payback against the Mayor of Fort Lee for refusing to endorse his re-election. He said he was "stunned by the abject stupidity that was shown here."

Pimp sues Nike for not warning shoes could be dangerous if used to beat people

A Portland pimp is suing Nike for not placing a warning label in their shoes specifying that they could be used as a dangerous weapon -- after he was sentenced to 100 years in prison for brutally beating a john with his sneaker.
Sirgiorgiro Clardy, 26, claims Nike should have placed a warning in the shoes warning consumers that the kicks have the potential to be used as a dangerous weapon, according to The Oregonian newspaper. Clardy is seeking $100 million for what he believes was the shoe manufacturer’s oversight.

New Bill in Oklahoma Blocks Punishment for Kids With Imaginary, Toy Guns

   Katie Pavlich | Jan 10, 2014
You've seen the headlines, Boy Suspended For Chewing PopTart Into Shape of a Gun, 7th Graders Suspended for Playing With Airsoft Gun in Own Yard, Student Suspended for Toy Gun the Size of a Quarter, etc.
But now, a legislator in Oklahoma is putting some tolerance back into the ridiculous "no-tolerance" policies that lead to unnecessary punishment of children.
Schoolchildren in Oklahoma could not be punished for chewing their breakfast pastries into the shape of a gun under a bill introduced this week by a Republican legislator.
Rep. Sally Kern said Wednesday her measure dubbed the Common Sense Zero Tolerance Act was in response to school districts having policies that are too strict or inflexible.
"Real intent, real threats and real weapons should always be dealt with immediately. We need to stop criminalizing children's imagination and childhood play," Kern, Republican from Oklahoma City told
"If there's no real intent, there's no real threat, no real weapon, no real harm is occurring or going to occur, why in the world are we in a sense abusing our children like this."
Under Kern's bill, students couldn't be punished for possessing small toy weapons or using writing utensils, fingers or their hands to simulate a weapon. Students also couldn't be punished for drawing pictures of weapons or wearing clothes that “support or advance Second Amendment rights or organization."

Not surprisingly, the Oklahoma Education Association is opposed to the measure. Kern isn't the first to introduce this kind of legislation, similar bills have been introduced in Texas and Maryland, and she won't be the last.

Debo Adegbile VOLUNTEERED to take Mumia Abu-Jamals case. Defending a COP KILLER

Widow of Murdered Police Officer on President Obama's DOJ Nomination: "It's Like Spitting on All of Our Officers"
 Katie Pavlich | Jan 09, 2014
Last night on Fox News' The Kelly File, Maureen Faulker, the widow of murdered Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner, reacted to President Obama's nomination of Debo Adegbile to head up the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice. Adegbile has worked as an advocate for cop killer Mumia-Abu-Jamal, the man who was convicted of killing Faulkner in 1982. During his time as a leader at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and years after the conviction was repeatedly upheld, Adegbile voluntarily took on Abu-Jamal's case and eventually was successful in getting the death penalty overturned.
"I was absolutely outraged by President Obama to make this decision to have a man who defended a murderer, someone who murdered a police officer with pre-meditation and malice, is a radical, is a Black Panther and to give him an appointment, to nominate him to the Department of Justice, it's a disgrace," Faulkner said. Mexican fishermen find conjoined gray whale calves

In this photo released on Wednesday Jan. 8, 2014 by Mexico's National Natural Protected Areas Commission, or CONANP, two conjoined gray whale calves lie dead in a beach in the Ojo de Liebre lagoon, near the town of Guerrero Negro in the Baja Peninsula, Mexico
The Mexican government says fishermen found two rare conjoined gray whale calves that died shortly after being born.
Biologist Benito Bermudez says the whales were found alive in the Ojo de Liebre lagoon in the Baja California Peninsula but lived only a few hours.
Bermudez said Wednesday they were linked at the waist, with two full heads and tail fins.
Bermudez is a marine biologist with the National Natural Protected Areas Commission, or CONANP. He said scientists are collecting skin, muscle and baleen samples to study the creatures.
Every year more than 20,000 gray whales swim to Mexico from Alaska to mate and give birth.

A Kentucky lawmaker said Wednesday that she accidentally fired a gun in her Capitol Annex office on the first day of the legislative session this week, prompting a police investigation. No one was hurt.
Democratic Rep. Leslie Combs of Pikeville issued a statement saying the shot was fired unintentionally Tuesday and that state police assigned to the Capitol found no evidence to indicate any portion of the discharged round left her office.
Combs did not offer details, but a House colleague who said he was in her office at the time described it as an accident.
"She was emptying the weapon and she thought that it was empty and pointed it away and down and pulled the trigger and it went off," said Rep. Jeff Greer, D-Brandenburg.

And Michael Bloomberg has two armed bodyguards

I bet he has more than seven rounds in his magazine, too.

Your handgun is not the appropriate tool to use as a laser pointer. A moderately intelligent child grasps that.
So perhaps a child is the appropriate person to take over as Andrew Cuomo’s director of homeland security:
Jerome M. Hauer, Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s director of homeland security, took out his handgun and used the laser sighting device attached to the barrel as a pointer in a presentation to a foreign delegation, according to public officials. It happened Oct. 24 in Albany at the highly secure state emergency operations center below State Police headquarters.
These officials, one of whom claimed to be an eyewitness, said that three Swedish emergency managers in the delegation were rattled when the gun’s laser tracked across one of their heads before Hauer found the map of New York, at which he wanted to point.
Hauer, commissioner of the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, was disabled by a stroke a few years ago and can be unsteady. He isn’t a law enforcement official. He carries the loaded 9-millimeter Glock in a holster into state buildings, an apparent violation of state law barring state employees from bringing weapons to the workplace, several witnesses say.
Andrew Cuomo’s New York is a tyranny where one set of rules exists for the elite, and one set of rules exists for the citizenry. Hauer should be fired and then face charges for brandishing and assault with a deadly weapon at a bare minimum.
Instead, Dictator Cuomo’s henchmen seems to face no accountability at all.

Post-term bodyguards for Bloomberg and Kelly illustrate supreme hypocrisy

More hypocrisy from those protected by armed guards who don’t want you protecting yourself: Bloomberg and Kelly can bring guns to public events. Let a citizen do it and watch the “progressives” scream about being terrorized.
More hypocrisy from those protected by armed guards who don’t want you protecting yourself: Bloomberg and Kelly can bring guns to public events. Let a citizen do it and watch the “progressives” scream about being terrorized
Accusing outgoing New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg of offering lucrative bodyguard jobs to his current NYPD security detail “to keep their mouths shut,” the New York Post also highlighted something few outside of gun rights advocacy circles have noted: The absolute hypocrisy of a billionaire who can afford an around-the-clock armed presence devoting a substantial amount of his time and untold millions of dollars with the goal of disarming everyone of more modest means.FULL ARTICLE

In his ruling this week that struck down one of the last relics of Chicago’s long-standing gun ban, U.S. District Court Judge Edmond E. Chang made a startling observation. Chang noted that while one of the fundamental duties of government is to protect its citizens, “certain fundamental rights” are protected by the Constitution, and thus should be “outside government's reach.” To put it more bluntly, government cannot – and should not -- be trusted with those rights.
This was bad news for Hizzoner Rahm Emanuel, who along with President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder, have been trying to rewrite America’s gun laws during their tenure in power (in the case of Holder, I have called publicly for his resignation, and for Obama, the “I” word should no longer be off-limits).               READ  MORE

Shorter White House: Ignore Gates' Memoir

Daniel Doherty | Jan 08, 2014
Guy brought you up to speed on the latest political scandal to plague the White House. To wit, former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates charges in his soon-to-be released memoir that President Obama knowingly sent 30,000 additional U.S. troops into Afghanistan even though he believed their presence would not change the outcome of the war. In short, he didn’t think his own plan would work.
This is a explosive allegation. Americans lost their lives fighting in Afghanistan, and their own commander-in-chief -- allegedly -- didn’t even believe in the mission months before surge troops were deployed overseas.
Now, of course, the White House is pushing back on Gates’ claims (via USA Today):

Two of three officers cleared in fatal shooting of mentally ill NC teenager

911 calls reveal that a North Carolina officer shot a mentally ill teenager barely a minute after having arrived at the scene. Craig Reck of NBC station WECT of Wilmington, N.C., reports                                                             M. Alex Johnson, Staff Writer, NBC News

Two of the three North Carolina officers present when police shot and killed a mentally ill teenager have been cleared, authorities said Tuesday.
Keith Vidal, 18, of Boiling Spring Lakes, was shot and killed Sunday afternoon. Vidal's parents accused an officer of stunning their son with a Taser and then shooting him in cold blood as he lay restrained on the ground.
Jerry Dove, chief of the Southport police, one of the three responding agencies, confirmed that Det. Byron Vassey, a nine-year veteran of the department, had been placed on administrative leave.
"Then all of a sudden, this Southport cop came, walked in the house [and said]: 'I don't have time for this. Tase him. Let's get him out of here,'" Wilsey said.
After the officer used a stun gun on Vidal, "he hit the ground [and] this guy shot him," Wilsey said.
Brunswick County District Attorney Jon David said the State Bureau of Investigation was investigating, as is standard in all officer-involved shootings.
David promised "that I will go wherever the truth leads in this case."

Massive cache of explosives, bomb manuals found in Maryland home

Anne Arundel County, Md., Fire Department
Maryland authorities on Tuesday showed off materials seized from the home of Todd Dwight Wheeler Jr. on New Year's Day.
A Maryland man was being held on $400,000 bond Tuesday after local, state and federal authorities discovered working bombs, more than 100 pounds of bomb-making chemicals and numerous manuals for creating bombs and booby traps in his home, police said.
The man, Todd Dwight Wheeler Jr., 28, of Glen Burnie, in the Washington suburbs, was held on two counts of making explosives, two counts of possessing explosive materials and one single count of reckless endangerment. Federal charges were pending.

The fire department and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were called in, and in the past week, they've been removing and cataloging all of the dangerous materials stashed in the suburban house, which they showed off to reporters Tuesday:
  • Numerous completed bombs.
  • More than 100 pounds of chemicals, including acids, fuels, oxidizers and explosives precursors.
  • Glass jars labeled "ammonium chloride," sulfur" and "potassium chlorate."
  • Additional components of destructive devices, including igniters and detonators.
  • Instruction manuals and books detailing explosive manufacturing and booby traps, with titles like "The Poor Man's James Bond," "Booby Traps," "Deadly Brew" and "Highly Explosive Pyrotechnic Compositions."
  • Miscellaneous weapons, including an automatic Ruger Mini-14 rifle, other guns and knives.
  • Unspecified "controlled dangerous substances" and packaging materials.

Escaped Kentucky inmate opts for the big house over the big chill

There’s no escaping the polar vortex. Not even for an escaped prisoner.
A Kentucky inmate managed to get out of a minimum-security prison on Sunday — and turned himself in the next day at a motel a few miles away, explaining that he wanted to get out of the frigid air.
It was 3 degrees in Lexington, with a wind chill of 17 below, when Robert Vick turned himself in at the Sunset Motel and Restaurant. Maurice King, manager of the 25-room motel, told NBC News that Vick definitely looked like he’d had enough.
“He was frozen,” King said. “He walked in and knocked on my door and told me to call the law on him

2013 Guns Sales Set New Record
President Obama is indeed the best gun salesman in U.S. history.
 Katie Pavlich | Jan 07, 2014
The FBI has released new statistics on NICS background checks showing 2013 gun sales hit a new record. The total number of background checks conducted for gun sales last year add up to 21,093,273, beating the previous 2012 record of 19,592,303 by 1,500,970. Texas conducted the most background checks with 1,633,278. Kentucky came is second with 1,578,331 background checks conducted.
These significant numbers came during a year when Democrats and the White House attempted multiple times to push through new gun control measures. In 2013, President Obama released a number of executive actions on gun control and wasted no time in 2014 doing the same. States that implemented more gun control measures in 2013 saw a spike in gun sales, especially in relation to population. Gun sales in Maryland doubled, going from 136,604 in 2012 to 231,361 in 2013. In 2012, Colorado conducted 414,838 checks, in 2013, there were 514,658. In Connecticut, 237,496 checks were conducted in 2012 and in 2013, 294,338 went through the system. Background checks in New York, home of the S.A.F.E. Act, also went up in 2013.
So who's buying these guns? According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation and NBC news, women are the fastest growing demographic of gun owners.

A federal judge on Monday overturned Chicago's ban on the sale and transfer of firearms, ruling that the city's ordinances aimed at reducing gun violence are unconstitutional.
U.S. District Judge Edmond E. Chang said in his ruling that while the government has a duty to protect its citizens, it's also obligated to protect constitutional rights, including the right to keep and bear arms for self-defense. However, Chang said he would temporarily stay the effects of his ruling, meaning the ordinances can stand while the city decides whether to appeal.                  READ STORY

Nine Reasons Why “Obama’s Recovery” Is A Giant Lie

Obama Lies Dueling SC
Our monthly insult from the Bureau of Labor Statistics telling us that unemployment is down to 7.0%. The truth behind the BLS’s fake number is that when Americans are so sick and tired of trying to find work and give up in despair, using Soviet style logic, the government declares them nonpersons and refuses to count them as unemployed. If there was a touch of honesty in these announcements, the true unemployment rate would be 11.5%.
The percentage of Americans who are working is startlingly low at just 58.6%. During the contrived “Bush recession,” the rate was 60.6%; not much better, but still better.
Just since November of 2006, when so many “aghast” conservatives stayed home, handing the House to the Democrats, 1,148,000 fewer Americans are working. This is a catastrophe in view of the fact that the population has grown during this time by 16 million people, some of them undoubtedly actual American citizens.

New York Pastafarian Christopher Schaeffer Sworn Into Town Council Wearing Colander

Christopher Schaeffer, a Pastafarian minister, was sworn into the Pomfret, N.Y. Town Council last week wearing a colander, the Observer reported on Friday.
Schaeffer is a member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, a group founded by an atheist in 2005 that has adopted the spaghetti strainer as its symbol.
"It's just a statement about religious freedom," Schaeffer told the Observer. "It's a religion without any dogma."
Bobby Henderson, founder of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, blogged about Schaeffer's swearing-in on Monday, saying Schaeffer "may be the first openly Pastafarian sworn into office."
"Some people will see it as obnoxious or a sign that he’s not taking the oath of office seriously," Henderson said of Schaeffer's decision to wear a colander. "But I am completely confident that Schaeffer will distinguish himself as a Council member of the highest caliber."

Two responding officers were able to calm Vidal before another officer walked into the family’s home, Wilsey said.
It was when the third officer walked in that the 90-pound teen was stunned with a Tazer and fell to the floor. Vidal was then shot in the chest, Wilsey told reporters.
This, according to the iReport, is Keith Vidal.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation has launched an investigation into Vidal’s killing.

Young girl wearing suicide vest caught by Afghan police

KABUL, Afghanistan -- A young girl, no older than 10, was caught wearing a suicide vest by border police in southern Afghanistan on Sunday, an official told NBC News.
The “scared and cold” youngster told officers that her brother Zahir, a Taliban commander, had given her the explosive device and directed her towards a police checkpoint in the Khan Nasheen district of Helmand province, Hamidullah Siddiqi an Afghan border police official told NBC News.
“She was crying and told border police that she was made obliged by her brother to do suicide attack on them,” he said, adding that investigators believe she is either nine or 10 years old.
The girl may not have been able to operate the detonator in any case, Siddiqi said.
Border police and officials are now investigating the case and have begun a search for the girl's brother, he added.

obama father

Obama says his father served in World War II

By Senior Airman Brian Kolfage -Perhaps a clue comes from Obama’s book on his father. He states how proud he is of his father fighting in WW II. I’m not a math genius, so I may need some help from you. Barack Obama’s “birth certificate” says his father was 25 years old in 1961 when Obama was born. That should have put his father’s date of birth approximately 1936 – if my math holds (Honest! I did That without a calculator!). Now we need a non-revised history book – one that hasn’t been altered to satisfy the author’s goals – to verify that WW II was basically between 1939 and 1945. Just how many 3 year olds fight in Wars? Even in the latest stages of WW II his father wouldn’t have been more than 9 years old. Does that mean that Mr. Obama is a liar, or simply chooses to alter the facts to satisfy his imagination or political purposes

Political Cartoons by Robert Ariail           Robert Ariail - January 05, 2014

 Caroline Glick | Jan 04, 2014
The New York Times just delivered a mortal blow to the Obama administration and its Middle East policy. Call it fratricide. It was clearly unintentional. Indeed, is far from clear that the paper realizes what it has done.
Last Saturday the Times published an 8,000-word account by David Kirkpatrick detailing the terrorist strike against the US Consulate and the CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012. In it, Kirkpatrick tore to shreds the foundations of President Barack Obama’s counterterrorism strategy and his overall policy in the Middle East.
Obama first enunciated those foundations in his June 4, 2009, speech to the Muslim world at Cairo University. Ever since, they have been the rationale behind US counterterror strategy and US Middle East policy.

Melissa Harris-Perry's Tearful On-Air Apology to the Romneys

Cortney O'Brien | Jan 04, 2014
MSNBC anchor Melissa Harris-Perry learned her lesson the hard way last week after she and her guest panelists mocked former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his family for adopting a black grandson. After facing backlash for her offensive comments, Harris-Perry tweeted a string of apologies to the Romneys. But, social media users criticized her method and insisted a true apology would be best made on-air.
So, Saturday morning, she did just that.
Before addressing the latest headlines, Harris-Perry began her weekend show by telling the audience she would like to offer a “genuine” apology to the Romneys. She kept her composure through most of her statement, but by the end she started to choke up when discussing the importance of transracial adoption:
“Allow me to apologize to other families formed through transracial adoption, because I am deeply sorry that we suggested that interracial families are in any way funny, or deserving of ridicule. On this program, we are dedicated to advocating for a wide diversity of families, it is one of our core principles. And I am reminded that when we do so, it must be with the utmost respect. We’re genuinely appreciative of everyone who offered serious criticisms of last Sunday’s program, and I am reminded that our fiercest critics can sometimes be our best teachers    STORY ANDVIDEO

Sarah Palin's Resolution: Call Out 'Lapdog' Media

By Sandy Fitzgerald
Sarah Palin has a New Year's resolution — to be "more aggressive" in calling out the media for "practicing lapdog laziness."
   In a
Facebook post on Saturday, the former Alaska governor and one-time vice-presidential nominee railed against the media for standing behind President Barack Obama, even after the revelations about the National Security Agency's spying programs.
"Hey reporters, we know that once Barack Obama got elected you bailed on keeping government accountable; you've been abject failures there," Palin wrote. "Case in point: Nixon's presidency was over once reporters busted him for allowing his people to spy on political opponents. Today, the Obama presidency's hallmark is spying (in addition to violating economic and Constitutional liberties), for which you celebrate Barack Obama. Transparently hypocritical, much?"
Palin's relationship with what she calls the "lamestream" media has been difficult through the years, including in November when MSNBC host Bashir called her the nation's "resident dunce" and a "world-class idiot" for comparing America's national debt to slavery, w
ords he apologized for saying.

US Seeking Al-Qaeda Terrorist Linked to Benghazi Massacre …(NY Times Completely Baffled)

benghazi attack consulate
The US government is seeking Muhammad Jamal, an al-Qaeda-linked terrorist, wanted for his role in the 9-11-12 Benghazi massacre. Jamal was arrested by Egyptian authorities in December 2012. Just last week The New York Times claimed al-Qaeda had nothing to do with the Benghazi attack.FOX News reported:
The U.S. government is trying to apprehend an al Qaeda terrorist wanted for his role in the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack that killed four Americans.
The suspect, Muhammad Jamal, was imprisoned in Egypt last fall and in September was being held by the Egyptian government. His current whereabouts could not be confirmed, said U.S. officials who spoke on condition of anonymity. One official said Jamal remains in Egyptian custody, contrary to reports that he was in Yemen.
Jamal was labeled a designated terrorist by the United Nations Oct. 18, identifying him and the group he formed, the Muhammad Jamal Network, as linked to the Sept. 11, 2012, Benghazi attack.
Four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, were killed during an assault on a diplomatic compound and a nearby CIA facility in the Libyan port city.
The identification of Jamal as an al Qaeda member linked to the Benghazi attack contradicts a recent New York Times investigative report that concluded there was no evidence al Qaeda or foreign terrorists were behind the Benghazi attack that is currently the subject of several congressional inquiries.
Muhammad Jamal was released from jail during the Arab Spring. He is thought to be behind the attack on the US consulate that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

The al-Marsad News Network, an Egyptian media organization, posted a “rare” video interview with Muhammad Jamal al-Kashef AKA Abu Ahmed, who reportedly led the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012. (SITE)
