Air Marshal director stepping down amid agency gun scheme probe

Shown at right is Robert Bray, director of the Federal Air Marshal Service.Reuters/TSA.gov
EXCLUSIVE: The director of the Federal Air Marshal Service is retiring after being investigated for his role in an alleged operation to acquire guns for officials' personal use, FoxNews.com has learned.
Director Robert Bray's home was raided in December in connection with the ongoing probe, according to sources and documents. Law enforcement and congressional sources told FoxNews.com that Bray's recently announced retirement, which is effective in June, is directly related to the investigation.
Transportation Security Administration officials say no such raid ever happened.
But Bray allegedly is among several officials who were obtaining weapons through this operation.
The probe stems from whistleblower accusations involving federal Air Marshal supervisor Danny Poulos. Sources say the Department of Homeland Security inspector general is involved, and possibly the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. TSA officials disputed that those agencies are involved, but acknowledged that there is an internal review underway by the TSA Office of Inspection into the supervisor's alleged activity.
The supervisor, a TSA official confirmed to FoxNews.com, is "on administrative leave."              FULL STORY

Ohio Teacher Fired Over Comment on Black President
CINCINNATI April 18, 2014 (AP)
An Ohio teacher has been fired after a black student who said he wanted to become president claimed the teacher told him the nation didn't need another black commander in chief.
The Fairfield Board of Education voted 4-0 on Thursday night to fire science teacher Gil Voigt from Fairfield Freshman School, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer ( http://cin.ci/1kIkFmQ ).
"The district felt that the evidence was sufficient to support the termination of Mr. Voigt's employment," Superintendent Paul Otten said in statement.
Voigt did not immediately return a call seeking comment Friday but has said the student misquoted him.

Voigt, who is white, told school officials that what he actually told the teen was that he doesn't think the nation can afford another president like Barack Obama, "whether he's black or white."

A state referee investigating Voigt found that explanation was not credible. ?????

It just keeps going and going, getting more and more ridiculous

Student Convicted After Recording Alleged Bullies

The student and his mother held a news conference Tuesday announcing a challenge to the conviction:
A western Pennsylvania high school student is appealing his disorderly conduct conviction for recording others who allegedly bullied him, saying he wasn't trying to break the state's wiretap law but was instead trying to collect evidence against his tormentors.

The South Fayette High School student, Christian Stanfield, held a news conference with his mother Tuesday announcing the
challenge.
Stanfield was charged by police with violating the state's wiretapping law -- which forbids recording another's voice without their permission --after he uses his iPad to record the taunts of other students in February.ridiculous

A district judge threw out the more serious charge, but convicted the 15-year-old of disorderly conduct last month.
School district officials aren't commenting, but Stanfield and his attorney hope to get the conviction on the citation overturned.

Meet Another Rancher Who’s Pretty ‘Fed Up’ With The Federal Government
John Ladd and his ancestors have been ranchers in the border town of Bisbee, Ariz. since 1896. While Ladd loves his life and his ranch, he’s also dealing with a growing problem:                           Government agents have been trespassing on his property for decades. He says the problem is only getting worse, and he’s had enough:
“I’m tired of putting up with the federal government and border patrol and anyone else who thinks they have the right to come on to my ranch and do whatever they want. That’s the bottom line.”
Ladd’s ranch is just a few miles north of the Arizona-Mexico border. He says that when he was growing up, the border was no more than an afterthought. But in 1980s, everything changed.
“Border Patrol showed up in the late ‘80s, early 90s. The border wasn’t a big deal to me [before], but now it is. It dominates my livelihood and my life because I deal with it every day.”
So how much does it dominate Ladd’s life?
“They monitor my movements every day. I’m questioned daily about what I’m doing. They call me [saying,] ‘Are you down here? Are you doing this? What truck are you in?’ That’s none of your business. I’m working my ranch.”
Ladd says border patrol agents completely disregard – and even take down – gates and fences marking off his territory.
On one hand, it’s good to know that border patrol agents are actually searching for illegals entering the country.
On the other hand, given that Ladd’s ranch is several miles from the Mexican border, if the border were secured, John Ladd could go back to running his ranch without concern over trespassers and the apparently endless scrutiny of the federal government.

Biden Being Biden: Vice President Tells Boston Marathon Bombing Survivors ‘It Was Worth It’

Sometimes, the best part about Joe Biden’s many gaffes is that he has no idea he’s making them. Such was the case in Boston Tuesday, as the city marked the one-year anniversary of the Marathon bombing.During his speech at the memorial service, Biden went Biden. Speaking to a crowd of bombing survivors, the veep saidit was worth it to come to Boston and see how the attack’s victims have “survived” and “soared.”While the crowd applauded Joe’s comments, his awkward choice of words didn’t go unnoticed by some, including Rick Leventhal of Fox News:

The United Nations has delivered it latest report on climate change and, as to be expected, it paints a grim picture. Moreover, the report spells out specific steps we must take immediately if we are to save the planet from mankind. (Hint: less cheeseburgers)
Recommendations of Working Group III of the Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (whew!):
  • More regulation from “experts”, technocrats and bureaucrats at supranational organizations, such as the one whose initials begin with U and end with N
  • More taxpayer subsidies for expensive, inefficient renewable energy
  • More nuclear power (with shale gas used as a transitional fuel to replace coal)
  • The abandonment of fossil fuels
  • Less meat consumption
  • A single, globally-regulated price for carbon dioxide
  • More local-government-enforced walking, cycling and public transportation
  • More back-door wealth redistribution from the West to the developing world in the name of “sustainability”
All at a cost to the global economy of up to 3.7 per cent of GDP by 2030, provided we “act now,” mind you.
The report notes that almost half of the rise in post-industrial anthropogenic (man-made) CO2 levels since 1750 occurred during the last forty years. Therefore, it argues, a dramatic decarbonization of the world economy – including more renewable energy and less fossil fuel – must begin immediately if global warming is to be kept below 2 degrees C by the end of the century.
Can someone please explain to me what man-made anything produced CO2 in 1750?
Once again, the hysterical hand-wringing of the UN over “global warming” flies in the face of NASA scientists, who found that 95% of climate models used since 1979 are flat-out wrong. Additionally, recent studies prove that not only did the earth stop “warming” 17 years ago – it is not projected to warm again until at least the 2030s.
Still, you better eat that last steak while you can; there’s no telling when the feds (or the Blue Helmets) will show up at your door to grab your beef.
Oh, and they’ll be walking, cycling or using public transportation, of course.

Rice Cooker Triggers Boston Scare, Man in Custody

       NBC Connecticut

One of two unattended backpacks found and detonated by police Tuesday near the Boston Marathon finish line was left by a New England Cable News crew while the other was likely a hoax act by a man who is now in custody. Police stopped a barefoot man who was carrying what appeared to be a rice cooker in his backpack, Deputy Police Superintendent Randall Halstead said at a news briefing, NBC News reported. The suspect faces charges of disorderly conduct, possession of a hoax device and disturbing the peace, NECN reported. NECN's general manager said the bag belonging to the station had contained cables and was left when the scene was quickly evacuated. "The NECN crew cooperated while asking officers several times if they could get their bag back," Mike St. Peter said. "Because of the ongoing investigation, police denied access. Once the scene was cleared, the crew picked up the remains of the bag."

Russian Fighter Jet Buzzed U.S. Ship

A Russian attack warplane engaged in "provocative action" when it repeatedly buzzed a U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer in the western Black Sea on Saturday, U.S. military officials tell NBC News.
According to officials, in a 90-minute encounter, the Russian SU-24 fighter jet made a dozen low passes — ranging from sea level to several thousand feet — near the USS Donald Cook.
The crew aboard the Donald Cook made several attempts to radio the Russian warplane asking the pilot what were his intentions and sending warnings to remain at a safe distance, but the Russian pilot never responded.
The Donald Cook only responded to the Russian jet with radio warnings, and "did not go to battle stations."
Military officials say it appears the plane was not armed with any aerial bombs, but the actions were still in violation of several international protocols.
While military officials consider the incident "provocative and unprofessional," they say the encounter ended without incident.
