Robert Mueller thought he had Donald Trump dead to rights.
The special counsel zeroed in on a key Trump associate in order to prove the campaign colluded with the Russians.
But Robert Mueller just got the bad news that told him everything he worked for was over.
Robert Mueller and his team focused on proving Trump associate Roger Stone knew about WikiLeaks releasing the Democrats hacked emails in advance.
Mueller worked to connect the dots and frame Trump for collusion.
Critics believe he intended to say that since Trump and Stone knew each other for 40 years, that proved Stone must have told Trump about what he knew of the WikiLeaks email dumps.
Mueller would use that as proof of collusion.
Mueller’s evidence against Stone was an August 2016 comment where Stone claimed to have communicated with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
“I actually       have communicated with Assange. I believe the next tranche of his documents pertain to the Clinton Foundation but there’s no telling what the October surprise may be,” Stone stated. That comment led many so-called “journalists” to claim Stone was in league with the Russians.
But that turned out to be fake news.
