A top Democrat senator humiliated himself on live television this week when he was forced to admit that there isn’t actually anything illegal about President Donald Trump nominating Amy Comey Barrett to the Supreme Court.
Democrat Senator Blasts Barrett
Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, took to Twitter minutes after Trump nominated Barrett to call this process an “illegitimate sham.”
“I will oppose the confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett, as I would any nominee proposed as part of this illegitimate sham process, barely one month before an election as Americans are already casting their votes. Americans deserve a voice in this hugely consequential decision,” he wrote.
