When asked by a reporter about whether Biden has consulted with his former boss on how to get his $2 trillion “infrastructure” bill passed in Congress, Psaki responded, “they speak regularly“.

During the daily briefing at the White House Wednesday, Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed President Joe Biden will sign a series of gun control executive orders on Thursday.
"I don't have anything to preview, but I can convey the President will have more to say tomorrow," Psaki said.
Psaki's confirmation comes after POLITICO first reported the news and what Biden is expected to include in the orders.
"Biden will direct the administration to begin the process of requiring buyers of so-called ghost guns — homemade or makeshift firearms that lack serial numbers — to undergo background checks, according to three people who have spoken to the White House about the plans. He is expected to be joined at the event by Attorney General Merrick Garland," POLITICO reported Wednesday.

“The state of Arizona and its political subdivisions are prohibited from utilizing any financial resources or state personnel to administer, cooperate with or enforce any law, act, order, rule, treaty or regulation of the federal government that is inconsistent with any law of this state regarding the regulation of firearms,” read the text of the legislation.
Biden has promised to seek a ban on assault weapons and high capacity magazines in the wake of several mass killings after he assumed office.
Critics of the bill included Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone who said there was a “political motivation” behind it.
“It’s one of those emotional issues but as far as the impact on law enforcement, it will create confusion or challenges more than benefits or protecting the Second Amendment,” Penzone said to KTAR radio on Thursday.
Others say that the law will lead to litigation that will have to be paid with taxpayer money. Moms Demand Action, a gun-control advocacy group, gathered over 2,400 signatures opposing the bill and presented them to Ducey’s office hours before he signed it into law.
Democratic Arizona state Sen. Lisa Otondo assured gun owners that their rights were safe.
“Nobody is trying to take away your guns, not for the protection of your family, your property, nor your Second Amendment right to own them,” Otondo said.
Despite those assurances, gun sales have skyrocketed first over fears of instability from the pandemic lockdowns and later when President Joe Biden was elected.
Republican Gov. Doug Ducey of Arizona signed a bill on Tuesday that would ban local governments and employees from enforcing or aiding any infringement on gun rights imposed by the federal government.
House Bill 2111 was passed by the Arizona House and Senate in an attempt to preempt any new regulation of guns by the Biden administration.

David Chipman, President Joe Biden’s nominee for director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), doesn’t possess a rudimentary understanding of the Second Amendment — which, considering this job, seems like a problem.
A couple of years ago, in reaction to local governments in Virginia declaring “Second Amendment sanctuary,” Chipman wrote a column in the Roanoke Times arguing that the “Second Amendment envisions firearms as being ‘well regulated,’ and individual sheriffs aren’t entitled to decide whether a particular regulation is constitutional — that’s the job of the courts.”
Of course, there is not a shred of historical evidence that the Second Amendment “envisions” the state inhibiting and restricting the ability of law-abiding citizens to own any firearms. That said, courts have already ruled on the question. Chipman may not have heard about the District of Columbia v. Heller ruling, but it found that individuals have a right to keep and bear arms unrelated to an individual’s membership in a militia. Now, I understand some people get excited when they see the phrase “well regulated,” but it was a common term in the late 18th century that meant “working well,” not, “Hey, let’s make more laws.” But even if it did mean that, the term is aimed at militias, not individuals.
Since Chipman ignores the high court, it’s unsurprising that he advocates not only a complete ban of certain semi-automatic rifles — guns by any definition “in common use by law-abiding citizens” — but also wants existing AR-15 owners to register their weapons with the federal government.
To achieve this, Chipman, senior policy adviser for the gun-restrictionist group Giffords — and before that, a member of Mike Bloomberg’s “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” — is constantly scaremongering about AR-15s. In a 2018 interview, for instance, Chipman told the Hill.TV’s Buck Sexton and Krystal Ball, “I don’t think you should be able to anonymously purchase 20 AR-15s at one time, and the government shouldn’t know. I don’t think it’s unreasonable at all that you have to pass a background check to own a weapon of war.” In 2019, Chipman told a House Judiciary Committee that “assault weapons” were virtually “identical to those used by the military.”
You may have a whole bunch of reasons you want to ban AR-15s, but that will never make these guns into “weapons of war.” Moreover, AR-15s are rarely used in crimes — which, as a former ATF agent, Chipman surely knows.

The gunman in the shocking attack on Fredrick, Maryland yesterday which left two other people injured has now been officially identified as 38-year-old Navy Corpsman Fantahun Girma Woldesenbet.
Woldesenbet reportedly shot and killed by military police soon after his rampage.

Tucker Carlson defended the Capitol riots suspect who was pictured carrying zip-tie handcuffs.
Carlson said a judge's earlier characterization of him as dangerous was misleading.
The host has long sought to portray the response to the riots as a bid to persecute conservatives.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Tuesday defended Eric Munchel, who prosecutors identified as the man pictured during the Capitol riot in the Senate chamber in tactical gear with zip-tie handcuffs.
The image - alongside a second figure said to be his mother Lisa Eisenhart - became one of the defining scenes of the unrest on January 6. The two were arrested together.
In a monologue Tuesday night, Carlson criticized a decision by a judge to hold the pair in custody until their trial because they were deemed dangerous. The decision was later overturned by a different judge, and the two were freed under house arrest last week.
"Neither Lisa Eisenhart or her son damaged any property in the Capitol or committed any violence, they just walked in to what we used to refer to as 'The People's House,'" said Carlson.

School District Reconsidering Evergreen Tree Mascot Due To Racism Concerns Tom Gantert 21 hours ago
Ida B. Wells-Barnett High School is named after an African-American journalist who wrote about lynchings, according to the Portland Tribune.
After three of her friends were lynched in 1892, Wells-Barnett began an editorial crusade against lynching, according to Britannica.com. She wrote articles against lynching for the New York Age and then lectured around the U.S. and Great Britain against lynching.
The resolution to implement a tree for a mascot was tabled on March 30 when the Portland Public Schools Board of Educators raised concerns that a tree would remind people of lynchings where African Americans were hanged.
“I’m wondering if there was any concern with the imagery there, in using a tree … as our mascot?” Director Michelle DePass asked the committee that came up with the new mascot, according to the Portland Tribune. “I think everyone comes with blind spots and I think that might’ve been a really big blind spot.”
The high school principal Filip Hristic said that he shared her concerns.
“We take this seriously and I definitely want to follow that commitment to protect, preserve and promote the legacy of Ida B. Wells,” Hristic said, according to the Portland Tribune. Hristic said the school’s committee hadn’t had conversations with the Wells-Barnett family about using evergreen trees as the new mascot.
The previous mascot was a Trojan.
The district sent out a survey of new potential mascots in February with 420 different nominations.
According to Fox News, committee member Martin Osborne said the evergreen was meant to symbolize “a tree of life” and not “a tree of death,” and that it had “nothing to do with the horrible history of lynching in the United States.”
The school board has postponed voting on the mascot change until its next meeting, Fox News reported.

Sporting goods stores and small mom and pop businesses have had to severely limit how many rounds of ammo a person can buy at one time. Some have even gone so far as to limit ammo solely to those who are purchasing a new firearm because of the shortage.
Rumors have swirled about various companies and their ammo production. Some believed Vista Outdoors, the parent company of Federal, Remington, CCI, and Speer Ammunition, ceased manufacturing all together while others have insisted the company is picking and choosing who to sell ammo true. It was an issue Vista Outdoors' President of Ammunition, Jason Vanderbrink, addressed back in December.

There are a number of reasons for the ammo shortage. For one, it happens every election cycle, especially during presidential elections. The violence last summer, in conjunction with the COVID pandemic, has sparked a number of first-time gun owners. The firearms industry is doing its best to keep up with demand. While it can often feel frustrating to not see ammunition in stock, give these guys a break. They are working hard to meet demand. After Major League Baseball announced it was moving the All-Star game from Atlanta, Georgia and Delta Airlines and Coca-Cola attacked Georgia Republicans for their new voter security laws, Trump and Obama had very opposite responses.
“Congratulations to @MLB for taking a stand on behalf of voting rights for all citizens,”Obama said in a tweet on Saturday.
“There’s no better way for America’s pastime to honor the great Hank Aaron, who always led by example,” he said.
But that is not how Trump sees it.
He was furious on Friday after Major League Baseball announced that it would be moving its 2021 All-Star Game from Georgia after the Republican legislature passed laws to secure the vote,” The Guardian reported.
“Baseball is already losing tremendous numbers of fans, and now they leave Atlanta with their All-Star Game because they are afraid of the Radical Left Democrats who do not want voter I.D., which is desperately needed, to have anything to do with our elections. Boycott baseball and all of the woke companies that are interfering with Free and Fair Elections. Are you listening Coke, Delta, and all!” Trump said in an email to supporters.

“I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s All-Star Game and MLB draft,” the commissioner said. “Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box.”
“Fair access to voting continues to have our game’s unwavering support,” he said.
And Delta Airlines CEO Ed Bastian also attacked the Georgia law.
“I need to make it crystal clear that the final bill is unacceptable and does not match Delta’s values,” he said in an email to his employees. “After having time to now fully understand all that is in the bill, coupled with discussions with leaders and employees in the Black community, it’s evident that the bill includes provisions that will make it harder for many underrepresented voters, particularly Black voters, to exercise their constitutional right to elect their representatives. That is wrong.”
“The entire rationale for this bill was based on a lie: that there was widespread voter fraud in Georgia in the 2020 elections. This is simply not true. Unfortunately, that excuse is being used in states across the nation that are attempting to pass similar legislation to restrict voting rights,” he said.
Trump expanded his boycott later in the day on Saturday.
“For years the Radical Left Democrats have played dirty by boycotting products when anything from that company is done or stated in any way that offends them,” he said. “Now they are going big time with WOKE CANCEL CULTURE and our sacred elections.”
“It is finally time for Republicans and Conservatives to fight back—we have more people than they do—by far!” he said. “Boycott Major League Baseball, Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, JPMorgan Chase, ViacomCBS, Citigroup, Cisco, UPS, and Merck. Don’t go back to their products until they relent. We can play the game better than them.”
Atlanta’s Major League baseball team, The Atlanta Braves, was furious with Major League Baseball’s decision.
“This was neither our decision, nor our recommendation and we are saddened that fans will not be able to see this event in our city,’ the team said in a statement on social media.
“The Braves organization will continue to stress the importance of equal voting opportunities and we had hoped our city could use this event as a platform to enhance the discussion. Our city has always been known as a uniter in divided times and we will miss the opportunity to address issues that are important to our community.
“Unfortunately, businesses, employees, and fans in Georgia are the victims of this decision. We will continue to support the community legacy projects which have been planned are in process,” the team said.

“I need to make it crystal clear that the final bill is unacceptable and does not match Delta’s values,” he said in an email to his employees. “After having time to now fully understand all that is in the bill, coupled with discussions with leaders and employees in the Black community, it’s evident that the bill includes provisions that will make it harder for many underrepresented voters, particularly Black voters, to exercise their constitutional right to elect their representatives. That is wrong.”
“The entire rationale for this bill was based on a lie: that there was widespread voter fraud in Georgia in the 2020 elections. This is simply not true. Unfortunately, that excuse is being used in states across the nation that are attempting to pass similar legislation to restrict voting rights,” he said.
Trump expanded his boycott later in the day on Saturday.
“For years the Radical Left Democrats have played dirty by boycotting products when anything from that company is done or stated in any way that offends them,” he said. “Now they are going big time with WOKE CANCEL CULTURE and our sacred elections.”
“It is finally time for Republicans and Conservatives to fight back—we have more people than they do—by far!” he said. “Boycott Major League Baseball, Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, JPMorgan Chase, ViacomCBS, Citigroup, Cisco, UPS, and Merck. Don’t go back to their products until they relent. We can play the game better than them.”
Atlanta’s Major League baseball team, The Atlanta Braves, was furious with Major League Baseball’s decision.
“This was neither our decision, nor our recommendation and we are saddened that fans will not be able to see this event in our city,’ the team said in a statement on social media.
“The Braves organization will continue to stress the importance of equal voting opportunities and we had hoped our city could use this event as a platform to enhance the discussion. Our city has always been known as a uniter in divided times and we will miss the opportunity to address issues that are important to our community.
“Unfortunately, businesses, employees, and fans in Georgia are the victims of this decision. We will continue to support the community legacy projects which have been planned are in process,” the team said.

What’s in President Biden’s $2.25 Trillion Infrastructure Package?
What’s the story?
President Joe Biden on Wednesday outlined a $2.25 trillion package he has dubbed the American Jobs Plan, in addition to a package of tax increases that the administration says would offset its cost over 15 years.At $2.25 trillion, it would be the largest stimulus package enacted in U.S. history, surpassing the $2.2 trillion CARES Act that became law at the outset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Biden is also planning to release another plan, the American Families Plan, in mid-April that will likely exceed $1 trillion to expand “social” infrastructure.
Biden delivered remarks in Pennsylvania and said of his plan:
“It’s about infrastructure. The American Jobs Plan will modernize 20,000 miles of highways, roads, and main streets that are in difficult, difficult shape right now. It’ll fix the nation’s 10 most economically significant bridges in America that require replacement. Remember that bridge that went down? We got 10 of the most economically significant bridges with more commerce going across it that need to be replaced. We’ll also repair 10,000 bridges, desperately needed upgrades to unclog traffic, keep people safe, and connect our cities, towns, and Tribes across the country.”
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) criticized the proposal as a massive tax hike under the guise of infrastructure investment:
