MSNBC’s Online Poll On Guns Didn’t Go How It Expected
September 18, 2019 by Tom Knighton

No one is about to mistake MSNBC for a pro-gun outlet anytime soon. Their talking heads won’t shut up long enough for that to happen, for one thing. They’re going to continue going on and on about the evils of the Second Amendment and how we simply have to “do something.”

However, they held an online poll to find out what people thought about citizens carrying firearms.

It’s pretty likely they figured the results would be split to some degree, but considering the average MSNBC viewer, they also probably thought it would come down on the side of gun control.

They were spectacularly wrong.

Progressive cable news channel MSNBC posted an online poll to try to measure support for gun control, but they were likely disappointed with the overwhelming result.

The poll showed that 93 percent of respondents supported the right of citizens to carry guns in public.

Only 4 percent who responded to the decidedly unscientific poll said they were opposed to people carrying guns in public.

Another 2 percent responded that people should be allowed to carry guns in public, but only for self defense.

Now, it should be noted that this isn’t a scientific poll and shouldn’t be used for debate purposes. We all know how these things go. Someone like MSNBC posts the poll, pro-gun and anti-gun people rally their forces to go and vote on the poll and try to sway the results their way.

You also get a number of people who are just there and answer honestly.

What you usually don’t find, though, is something this lopsided.

Of course, the question wouldn’t withstand scrutiny from a professional pollster, either. After all, what’s the context? It doesn’t differentiate between the rules surrounding such carry, such as those found in a constitutional carry state versus a very restrictive state like California’s. It’s just people’s off-the-cuff response to the question.

And as of this morning, with over 700.000 votes in, it remains at 93 percent supporting the right to bear arms in public.

Again, this doesn’t actually mean all that much. Even many anti-gunners seem to believe that there’s some right to keep and bear arms, so it stands to reason that some will say there’s a right to carry a gun in public…for some people. After all, they don’t expect celebrities or officials to not have the means to defend themselves.

Then again, it’s possible the only reason there were 700K votes on this puppy is because pro-gunners flock to polls like this almost like they would one offering free ammo and anti-gunners just aren’t that interested in the topic.

That would shock me, though, since so much of their time and effort has been built up into portraying their position as the mainstream position while claiming folks like me are radicals for not wanting to give up freedom in the name of some illusory safety. One would think they’d love a poll like this as a way to show just how significant their numbers are.

Then again, maybe they didn’t simply because they can’t.

The White House has ordered two former Trump aides to defy subpoenas from House committees hoping to continue their impeachment push.
According to The Hill:
The White House has ordered two former aides to President Trump to defy their subpoenas to appear at a House Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday.
White House counsel Pat Cipollone said in a letter to the panel that the Justice Department recommended and Trump directed Rick Dearborn and Rob Porter to go against their subpoenas due to “constitutional immunity.”
The letter said the two were told not to go “because of the constitutional immunity that protects senior advisers to the president from compelled congressional testimony, and in order to protect the prerogatives of the Office of President.”
Democrats are legally objecting to the ability to declare “absolute immunity” in a suit against former White House counsel Don McGahn.
Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski is expected to testify but his testimony is likely to be limited due to executive privilege.

Canceled Comedian Shane Gillis Claims President Trump Being Shot Would Be 'Funny' 09/19/2019 Source: American Update
by: AU Staff

Comedian Shane Gillis walked into even more controversy after being fired from Saturday Night Live for making racist remarks when he 'joked' about President Trump being shot.
As Fox News reports:
Shane Gillis joked that Donald Trump would be "the funniest" president "to see get shot" in his first return to stand-up after the comic was fired from "Saturday Night Live" earlier this week...

"For real, though, I did not vote for Donald Trump," he said, while winking at the audience, reported USA Today. "Look at me: I didn't, but that was tough. His whole campaign was at me. 'Are you a fat idiot? Yeah, dude, what're we doing?'"...

That's when Gillis pivoted to his joke about Trump being shot in an attempt to prove to his audience he's not "too pro-Trump."...

"I don't want you to think I'm too pro-Trump," Gillis shared. "I will say this: Of all the presidents I've been alive for, Trump would definitely be the funniest one to see get shot. Like, without a doubt, that'd be funny. I'm not asking for that; I don't want that to happen, but it would be funny to see. He'd be on stage talking (expletive), the shooter would be coming at him, and he'd be like, 'Sit down.' He'd definitely make a funny noise when he got hit. … It would be funny."
Gillis may have claimed his statement was a joke, but his 'joke' was also extremely dangerous. As he essentially implied that he would take pleasure from President Trump being gravely wounded or killed by an assassin's bullet. All an all his 'joke' was utterly despicable.

Chinese Woman Pleads Guilty to Running Massive'Birth Tourism' Scheme   2019-09-19  by: TTN Staff

According to The Daily Caller

A Chinese national has pleaded guilty to running a “birth tourism” business, which involved helping hundreds of pregnant clients enter the United States and give birth so their children would receive U.S. citizenship.

Dongyuan Li pleaded guilty to two federal criminal charges, one count of visa fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit immigration fraud, for her involvement in a birth tourism business that was based in Orange County, California, according to a press release from the Justice Department.

Per the plea agreement, Li admitted that she ran You Win USA Vacation Services Corp. between 2013 and March 2015. The company specialized in helping Chinese government officials and wealthy pregnant clients skirt U.S. immigration laws, allowing them to enter the U.S. and eventually give birth to children that automatically earned American citizenship.

The company, which operated out of Irvine and China, allegedly coached customers on how to make false statements to U.S. immigration officials and on their visa applications.

The woman's customers were also coached on how to lie to the U.S. Consulate in China about how long they were planning to stay in the United States.

Ilhan Omar Deleting 2013 Father’s Day Tweet Sparks Controversy  By DHJ Staff  September 17, 2019

Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s decision to recently delete a Father’s Day tweet from 2013 is causing quite the stir online.

From screenshots of the tweet, it reportedly read: “Happy Father’s Day to my aabo Nur Said, I am forever grateful to Allah for giving me the best father a..” before a link to an Instagram post which has also been deleted.

One America News Network’s Jack Posobiec reported that Omar first deleted the post, sharing a photo of it and tagging the congresswoman.

He captioned the photo with the question: “Why did you delete your Happy Father’s Day tweet?”

The tweet seems to be taken from another account, Imam of Peace, which also shared the screenshot and claimed the post was deleted, as Omar’s husband and father shared the same surname.

“Ilhan Omar has just deleted this tweet from 2013 that proves her father is Nur Said, which makes her Ilhan Nur Said (surnames are the fathers names in most Muslim/MENA countries), and that Ahmed Nur Said, who she married, is, in fact, her brother,” the account said.

If congress knew more of what they are talking about, maybe we could take them seriously, BUT....do they not know how quickly a magazine can be changed ? If everything is ready, a couple of seconds...tops I think she has magazines on the brain, I remember that was her remedy at least once before.

Dianne Feinstein: Time For a Magazine Ban

In today’s Los Angeles Times, Senator Dianne Feinstein lays out her best case for a ban on “high capacity” magazines, and it boils down to a simple premise: if killers use smaller magazines, lives will be saved.

Harrisburg, PA Lawsuit Bigger Win For 2A Than It Might Seem September 16, 2019 by Tom Knighto

Pennsylvania appears to be at a crossroads when it comes to the Second Amendment.
Governor Tom Wolf made his feelings clear about preemption by standing alongside Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto when the mayor announced his intentions to ignore state law and pass local gun control anyway.
However, another case may be laying much of the groundwork for that battle. It doesn’t hurt that a pro-gun group just scored a really big win on that case, either.

The Second Amendment Was Written To Defend Against Alyssa Milano and Beto O'Rourke Alike   Ian Haworth   Sep 16, 2019

Because of the emotionally-fueled efforts of cynical politicians such as Beto O’Rourke and ignorant celebrity activists such as Alyssa Milano, the subject of gun control is poised to become one of the central policy issues of the 2020 Presidential elections.

The tone of the arguments in favor of gun control proposed by both O’Rourke and Milano this week may seem diametrically opposed. However, they are both examples of the blind circular logic used to justify an authoritarian destruction of our unalienable rights, and stand as further irrefutable evidence of the crucial importance of the Second Amendment.
Speaking with Ted Cruz earlier this week, Alyssa Milano was joined by Fred Guttenberg and Ben Jackson as she aimed to convince the Texas Senator to support the expansion of gun control policies. When Cruz articulated the fear felt by many Americans regarding the demonstrated threat of gun confiscation, Alyssa Milano attempted to allay these concerns by applying the classic Leftist combination of presumed moral superiority and vague subjectivity.

After the New York Times published an excerpt from “The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation," a book co-written by Times reporters, Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly, a vile tweet was published on the Times' Opinion Twitter feed to promote the piece.

"Having a penis thrust in your face at a drunken dorm party may seem like harmless fun. But when Brett Kavanaugh did it to her, Deborah Ramirez says, it confirmed to her that she didn't belong at Yale in the first place," the now-deleted tweet read.

The Times deleted the tweet once they began receiving flak for what was said.

I'm thinking...if all you gun owners don't want more restrictions or bans, you better get out and vote for TRUMP in november. or you'll likely have this immorall hag for your president...!!

Kamala Harris: I'll give Congress 100 days to pass gun laws.....CNN

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) pledged that, if elected president, she would take executive action to enact sweeping gun control measures if Congress fails to send comprehensive legislation to her desk in her first 100 days. #CNN #News

Read this over a few times....the El Paso shooters own MOTHER called the police...........and they didn't listen to her. The Dayton shooter threatened classmates with terroristic threats..again...NOBODY LISTENED..!!....Same with the Florida school shooting...NOBODY LISTENS..!!

[]

I certainly don't like the idea of having a "RED FLAG LAW"....That would mean that ANY disgruntled friend or family member could call in and say"you are acting strangely and they know you have guns"....AND...they are afraid of you.....There goes you, and your guns and you'll probably play hell getting them returned. The ones that is that didn't WALK while they were in confiscation....!! GOOD LUCK WITH ALL OF THAT NONSENSE..!!!!! You think this couldn't happen to you ? WELL...IT DID TO ME, Even without having a "RED FLAG LAW"...!!

Here’s what Congress is considering doing on guns      Amber Phillips
It’s got a tough needle to thread

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) is one of the lead negotiators on gun legislation in Congress. (J. Scott Applewhite)

Confused about what new gun laws Congress is going to make after a summer of back-to-back mass shootings? So is Congress, apparently

There seems to be a political opening to do something to strengthen gun laws, but it’s got to hit the Goldilocks zone of not too conservative and not too liberal to pass the Democratic House and the Republican Senate and get signed into law by President Trump. And right now, no one seems to know what that just-right legislation is.

The most difficult task seems to be finding common ground on background checks, specifically enough common ground that a majority of senators — maybe even a supermajority if some conservatives in the Senate launch a filibuster — agree. Here are the most-talked about proposals and their factions:

No photo description available.

A hundred and twelve years ago, in 1907...our great grandparents were first able to buy the rifle pictured. The semi-auto Winchester Model 1907.
This is a gun they could buy from a Sears catalogue and have delivered via US Post. It was/ is a semi-automatic, high powered centerfire rifle, with detachable, high capacity magazine.
About 400,000 of these were produced before WW2. Civilians had hundreds of thousands of these semi-auto rifles for 40 years, while US soldiers were still being issued old fashioned bolt action rifles.
The 1907 fired just as fast as an AR15 or AK47 and the bullet (.351 Winchester) was actually larger than those fired by the more modern looking weapons..
The ONLY functional difference between the 1907 and a controversial and much feared AR15 is the modern black plastic stock.
To summarize:
The semi auto, so-called "assault rifle" is 110 years old. It isnt new in any way.
The semi auto rifle was not a weapon of war. The government MADE IT a weapon of war 40 years after civilians had them.
The semi-auto can be safely owned by civilians. The proof is that literally 3 generations of adults owned and used them responsibly and no one ever even noticed.
Want to fix the horror of mass shootings? Fix the things that have changed for the worse in the last 50 years.
Cause the rifle technology in question was here long before this insanity.

I found this interesting...

"In 1992, the United States welcomed 10 year old Ilhan Omar and her family into the United States. She was born in Somalia, one of the world's poorest countries, ruled by a Marxist Military Dictator.
She and her family fled a terrible Civil War, and ended up in a refugee camp in Kenya. She spent four years there, until America offered Asylum, and they settled in Minneapolis.
Omar's father drove a taxi at first, and then he got a job with the post office, the government.
Omar meanwhile, grew up free in the world's richest country, and with all the Bounty that implies. She went to a State University, and a few years later was elected a member of Congress. She was elected by voters who were proud to see an immigrant succeed.
Omar, at the age of 36, is now one of the most powerful women in America. It's an amazing story!
Only in America could this ever happened. Ilhan Omar has a lot to be thankful for!
But she isn't grateful. At all!
And after everything America has done for Omar, and her family, she hates this country more than ever!
In a recent piece in the Washington Post, a reporter puts it this way ...
"In Omar's version, America isn't the big-hearted country that saved her from a brutal war and a bleak refugee camp. It wasn't a meritocracy that helped her to attend college or vaulted her into Congress."
"Instead, it was the country that had failed to live up to its founding ideals, a place that had disappointed her and so many immigrants, refugees and minorities like her."
Omar isn't disappointed in America, she's enraged by it! Virtually every public statement she makes accuses Americans of bigotry and racism. This is an immoral country she says. She has undisguised contempt for the United States and its people.
That should worry you.
She is living proof that the way we practice immigration has become dangerous to this country. A system designed to strengthen America is instead undermining it. The people we try hardest to help, have come to hate us.
It's maybe our fault, for asking too little of our immigrants. We don't ask them to assimilate, so they never feel fully American.
Or maybe the problem is deeper than that, we're importing people from places whose values are antithetical to ours.
But there is a problem. And whatever the cause, this is not sustainable.
No country can import large numbers of people who hate it and expect to survive. The Romans were the last to try that with predictable results.
So be grateful for ilhan Omar, annoying as she is. She is a living fire alarm, a warning to the rest of us, that we better change our immigration system immediately. Or else.
