Capitol Police Commander Present During Jan. 6 Says It ‘Was Not An Insurrection’

Jon Dougherty December 15, 2023   Conservative Brief

A former Capitol Police lieutenant who was present during the January 6, 2021, incident at the Capitol Building and who ordered the House and Senate to be evacuated pushed back hard on critics of then-President Donald Trump and their description of what happened.

In an X post on Thursday, the former officer, Tarik Johnson, noted that he’s been saying publicly that “J6 was not an insurrection, but not many people would listen,” which was a reference to 2024 GOP presidential contender Vivek Ramaswamy’s comments during a CNN town hall event in Iowa a day earlier.

“Ironically so, no one would benefit more than I if J6 was an insurrection as I … was the Commander that ordered and led the evacuations of the Senate and the House during the J6 breach after begging former Assistant Chief Yogananda Pittman for permission to do so as she sat comfortably in the Commander Center watching the events unfold on CCTV while Chief Steven A Sund was obtaining National Guard approval and getting assistance from local law enforcement agencies,” his post continued.

“Pittman flat out ignored me so I was forced to forge ahead with the evacuations without obtaining approval from her,” Johnson’s post continued. “Three days later I decided to call Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont to report Pittman’s malfeasance and approximately an hour after I got off the phone with the senator I was contacted by the USCP internal affairs section and informed I was suspended.

“The suspension lasted for 17 months and I was under a USCP gag order not to speak about the events of January 6, 2021 to the media until I separated from the Department,” he wrote. “I was also required to remain in my house Monday through Friday from the hours of 8am to 4pm and unable to step off my property without notifying the USCP for fear of being disciplined up to and including termination during those 17 months.

“These are SOME of many facts USCP Chief J Thomas Manger (who is arguably the most corrupt politician in the country) was brought in to cover-up,” he added.

“If presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy would like more FACTS to disrupt the insurrection narrative, I will inbox his designated representative my personal phone number. God bless our country now and in 2024,” he concluded.

Vivek Ramaswamy got a lot right in this interview. I’ve been saying publicly for a year that J6 was not an insurrection but not many people would listen. Ironically so, no one would benefit more than I if J6 was an insurrection as I (Tarik Johnson) was the Commander that ordered… Show more

Vivek Ramaswamy

@VivekGRamaswamy
Too bad for CNN, we’ll take the TRUTH on Jan. 6 mainstream. There is clear evidence that there was at the very least entrapment of peaceful protestors, similar to the fake Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping plot & countless other cases. The FBI won’t admit how many undercover officers…

Ramaswamy responded to Johnson’s post: “This is wild.”

During the debate in question, Ramaswamy said at one point: “If you had told me that January 6 was in any way an inside job the subject of government entrapment, I would have told you that was crazy talk, fringe conspiracy theory nonsense.”

But, he added, “I can tell you now, having gone somewhat deep in this: it’s not.”

“I mean, the reality is this: we do have a government — first of all, we have to acknowledge that has lied to us systematically over the last several years about the origin of COVID-19. About the Hunter Biden laptop that we were told was false by 51 CIA experts and otherwise before we now know that it was true,” the GOP contender continued.

“You can go straight down the list of Trump-Russia, disinformation, collusion, hoax, all of it. Now we come to January 6. The reality is we know that there were federal law enforcement agents in that field. We don’t know how many I think it’s shameful.” he said before moderator Abby Phillips cut him off and claimed there was no evidence for his observations.

The candidate held his ground, however. “I know that the establishment doesn’t approve of this message,” he said to applause.

“So why before Congress, when pressed on what the number was, they [the FBI] didn’t say there were none they just couldn’t say how many there were?” Ramaswamy countered. “We’ve seen multiple informants suggesting that there were. We know people were FBI informants.”

These are just the ones who ADMIT they cheated....HOW MANY MORE????

Here's the Number of Mail-in Voters

Who Admit They Cheated During the

2020 Election  Matt Vespa| December 12, 2023 TOWNHALL

The 2020 election is over. Joe Biden is president, but the 81 million votes number will never be accepted by half the country, especially given the visible mental and physical decline of the aging Delaware liberal. The COVID pandemic permitted Democratic secretaries of state to finagle the in-person and mail-in voting protocols, which courts retroactively ruled illegal. In states like Michigan and Pennsylvania, the state legislatures, then run by Republicans, had to sign off on the new measures. That was the steal, folks.

The number of integrity issues and allegations of electoral impropriety could scale Everest, but Rasmussen and the Heartland Institute conducted a survey where 20 percent of mail-in voters admitted that they cheated in the last presidential election (via Rasmussen):

More than 20% of voters who used mail-in ballots in 2020 admit they participated in at least one form of election fraud.

A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports and The Heartland Institute finds that 21% of Likely U.S. voters who voted by absentee or mail-in ballot in the 2020 election say they filled out a ballot, in part or in full, on behalf of a friend or family member, such as a spouse or child, while 78% say they didn’t.

Thirty percent (30%) of those surveyed said they voted by absentee or mail-in ballot in the 2020 election. Nineteen percent (19%) of those who cast mail-in votes say a friend or family member filled out their ballot, in part or in full, on their behalf. Furthermore, 17% of mail-in voters say that in the 2020 election, they cast a ballot in a state where they were no longer a permanent resident. All of these practices are illegal, Heartland Institute officials noted.\

Seventeen percent (17%) of those who cast mail-in ballots in 2020 say they signed a ballot or ballot envelope on behalf of a friend or family member, with or without their permission. Heartland Institute officials noted that “forging a signature on a ballot or ballot envelope are fraudulent activities that invalidate votes.

”Among other findings of the Rasmussen/Heartland Institute survey:– Forty-six percent (46%) of those surveyed voted for Joe Biden in 2020, while 45% voted for Donald Trump. More Biden voters (36%) than Trump voters (23%) say they voted by absentee or mail-in ballot in the 2020 election. Thirty-eight percent (38%) of Democrats voted by mail in 2020, as did 24% of Republicans and 27% of voters not affiliated with either major party.

I’ll let you debate and comment below concerning the findings of this poll. It confirms what many have held for years about the last election. In general, it brings into question how the temptation to commit fraud stems from the proliferation of mail-in and absentee voting, which favor Democratic Party candidates. The last election wasn’t the most secure, a point so unbelievable you’d think it came from a North Korean state media report. Now, are we a banana republic? Some think we’re already there or steamrolling toward one, but we’re not Afghanistan 2009…yet. But Democrats continue to believe that voter fraud and election malfeasance is a conspiracy theory. It’s not; the people who committed these crimes are confessing.
