Geographically Different

You may have read about the Southern California man who was put under 72-hour psychiatric observation when it was found he owned 100 guns and allegedly had (by rough estimate) 100,000 rounds of ammunition stored in his home. The house also featured a secret escape tunnel.

By Southern California standards someone owning 100,000 rounds would be called "mentally unstable." Just imagine if he lived elsewhere:

In Arizona, he'd be called "an avid gun collector." In Arkansas, he'd be called "a novice gun collector."

In Utah, he'd be called "moderately well prepared," but they'd probably reserve judgment until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of stored food.

In Kansas, he'd be "A guy down the road you would want to have for a friend.

In Montana, he'd be called "The neighborhood 'Go-To' guy.”

In Alabama, he'd be called "a likely gubernatorial candidate."

In Georgia, he'd be called "an eligible bachelor."

In North Carolina, , and South Carolina he would be called "a
deer hunting buddy."

And in Texas he'd be just "Bubba, who's a little short on ammo..."

HA !!

Oklahoma State Senator Introduces "Piers Morgan Act" to Allow Open Carry

British CNN host Piers Morgan is well known for his vocal anti-gun views. In response to Morgan's views, Oklahoma State Senator Nathan Dahm filed Senate Bill 1473 - the "Piers Morgan Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms Without Infringement Act." The act would permit all law-abiding citizens over the age of 18 to open carry a loaded or unloaded gun without a license in the state of Oklahoma.
Guns would still be banned from places designated as "gun free."     REST OF STORY

Doubling-down on dumb: Homeland Security loses assault rifle in Redondo Beach, cops think it’s a bomb

I’m not sure who looks dumber here. Is it the fed who drove off without his  weapon, or is it the Redondo Beach Police, who are so unfamiliar with gun cases that they evacuated the area and needed the LASD bomb squad to tell them a rifle is a rifle?

A Babysitter in Virginia Tattooed the Kids He Was Meant to Be Watching

Low res mugshot of Edwards via

Last month, three days before Christmas, Virginia couple Melissa Delp and Daniel Janney left Delp's two kids, both under 13, with their friend Alexander Edwards for the night. Then there's a blank in the police record, but cops say when the parents got home, their kids had been tattooed against their will. Search warrants said the kids' names had been inscribed on their right shoulders. The sitter has been arrested and is being charged with a crime called "malicious wounding," along with abduction and felony child abuse.
The few times I've ever been tasked with babysitting, I got through it by eating pizza and watching TV.
Alexander Edwards is a different kind of babysitter than me. First of all, he favors much more direct interaction with the children than I would. Also, he apparently got close enough to them that he felt like his judgement about what kinds of tattoos they would want superseded their own opinions on the subject.

Sperm, Craigslist, Lesbians and Welfare: What Could Go Wrong?

 John Ransom | Jan 24, 2014
There is so much wrong with the following story that like other great art that imitates life, I think I’ll let the story mostly speak for itself…and many of the ills of society in general.
So, stop me if you heard this one….
Two lesbians put up an ad on Craigslist looking for a sperm donor.
This is not in dispute.
They put up an ad on Craigslist looking for sperm, like sperm are a couch or a T.V. or those old worthless beanie babies your haggard aunt collected.
In response to the ad, one William Marotta, who apparently thinks of his sperm as a couch or a T.V. or those old worthless beanie babies his haggard aunt collected, was subsequently chosen as the "donor"-- a.k.a. the father in olden times parlance.
Marotta it turns out “donated” sperm three times, according to the birth mother, who subsequently “used a syringe to inseminate.”
These facts are not in dispute.
And do you know what? ......Read the rest of the..>>>> STORY

Suburban NY chief arrested on child porn charge
updated 1/23/2014 10:20:18 PM ET 2014-01-24T03:20:18
A suburban New York police chief who taught sex-abuse awareness classes to children has been accused of downloading and sharing more than 120 images of child pornography.
Mount Pleasant Chief Brian Fanelli, 54, who has been in office about two months, was arrested Thursday by Homeland Security agents.
In a complaint filed with the court, an agent says Fanelli told investigators that he first viewed child pornography as sex-abuse research for the classes he was teaching at a grade school and a middle school. But he added that he then began viewing the images "for personal interest," the complaint said.

NYC cops to keep close eye on Super Bowl fans

TOM HAYS, AP
NEW YORK (AP) — When Super Bowl fans fill the streets of New York City next week, police will be watching them closely — in person, in the air and on closed-circuit monitors.

The New York Police Department has quietly installed about 200 temporary surveillance cameras in midtown
to draw large crowds during the windup to the game. Banners promoting the fair compete on the same lampposts with decidedly less festive signs reading, "NYPD Security Camera in Area."

The heavy surveillance is one facet of a vast security effort by scores of law enforcement agencies that spent the past two years devising their own version of a zone defense to protect Super Bowl events that are all over the map.

Manhattan and Brooklyn will be the scene of dozens of pre-game gatherings, while across the Hudson River, Newark will stage Media Day, Jersey City will host the Seahawks and Broncos at hotels there before the kickoff on Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.                                                FULL STORY

'Armed and very dangerous' teen killed after shooting 3

An "armed and very dangerous" teen was killed late Thursday in Oklahoma after shooting several people, including two agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, police said.
Police say Henry Jackson is believed to have been involved in three separate shootings in a 24-hour period. He is 19-years-old according to NBC affiliate KTen.
Jackson "fired several shots and struck at least one person," in an early afternoon shooting in Ardmore, Okla., Sgt. Ryan Hunnicutt of Ardmore Police Department said in a statement given to KTen.
As officers later searched for Jackson, two agents from the bureau, which is also known as ATF, located him and he opened fire and injured both, the statement added. Neither was seriously hurt.
“Henry Jackson is considered armed and very dangerous,” Ardmore Police said in a statement as the manhunt continued.
When police caught up with him later, Jackson again opened fire on officers who shot back, hitting him several times, a later statement said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two Children Charged with Doodling in School

‎Monday, ‎January ‎20, ‎2014, ‏‎10:25:00 AM | Jaye Ryan

For generations, the art of doodling has suffered a bad reputation: It’s a sign of boredom. It’s unproductive. It’s rude, and so on. However, for two schoolchildren, it’s become a crime. For Alexa Gonzalez, a 12-year-old in Queens, New York, her “Alexa was here 2/1/10″ …and “I love my friends Abby and Faith” …scribbles brought handcuffs and a trip to the police station where she was actually charged and booked.......ARRESTING A CHILD FOR DOODLING MAKES SENSE?????

Benghazi Testimony One Year Later: Hillary Clinton Declares "What Difference Does It Make"

Today marks the one year anniversary of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on the 2012 9/11 Benghazi terror attack. During that testimony Clinton infamously declared, "What difference does it make!" when pressed on how and why four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, were killed. The Obama administration quickly said the incident was a result of a protest over an anti-Islam YouTube raging out of control but the evidence and witnesses declared the event a terrorist attack almost immediately after it happened. Last week, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence released a report that determined the attack, and the deaths of four Americans, could have been prevented.

Not only a murderer in Texas, but an ex-con in California and he's an ILLEGAL ALIEN !

Attorneys considered last-minute attempts Wednesday to keep a Mexican national from Texas' death chamber after the state opposed legal efforts and spurned diplomatic pressure to delay his punishment for killing a Houston police officer two decades ago.
Edgar Arias Tamayo, 46, was set for lethal injection Wednesday for the January 1994 slaying of Guy Gaddis, 24.
Gaddis, who had been on the force for two years, was driving Tamayo and another man from a robbery scene when evidence showed the officer was shot three times in the head and neck with a pistol Tamayo had concealed in his pants. The car crashed, and Tamayo fled on foot but was captured a few blocks away, still in handcuffs, carrying the robbery victim's watch and wearing the victim's necklace.

Obama's State of the Onion Smells

Let’s never forget: Millions of Americans who work hard and play by the rules every day deserve a government and a financial system that does the same. Lessons for Shove Guv Andrew Cuomo

 Michelle Malkin | Jan 22, 2014
Not so fast, Andrew Cuomo. We see what you did there. After publicly bashing conservative New Yorkers as "extreme" people who have no place in his state, the intolerant Democratic governor wants to blame the media for his unmistakable contempt for those who oppose abortion, support gun rights and defend traditional marriage.
Newsflash: Crapweasel politicians can backtrack and scapegoat, but they can't hide.
When he railed against socially conservative Republican candidates in a radio interview last week, Cuomo hyperbolically singled out those he called "right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay" citizens. Sounding unapologetically purge-tastic, the governor said these political opponents "have no place in the state of New York, because that's not who New Yorkers are." His bigoted comments provoked a fierce social-media-driven backlash led by devout Catholics and Second Amendment activists in the Empire State. And now, he's got job-creating, tax-paying conservative business people threatening to leave. Heckuva job, Andy!

DeBlasio Punishes 1% in NYC Snow Storm

 Carol Platt Liebau | Jan 21, 2014
Class warrior and New York City mayor Bill deBlasio seems to be acting on his apparent animus toward the 1% -- residents of Manhattan's (well-to-do) Upper East side confirm that section of the city remains unplowed in the ongoing northeast blizzard.
My husband, attending business meetings in the city, confirmed that buses and taxis are stuck in intersections on the UES and the streets are difficult to navigate. It is impossible to find any sort of transportation in that area. What de Blasio might consider is what that means -- not just for the prosperous residents -- but for the small businesses, cab drivers, truckers and other "workers" who serve that section of town.
Well, New York City voters elected a leftist mayor (who was, incidentally, Hillary Clinton's 200 Senate campaign manager) . . . and they're getting one. Good and hard.

A teaching assistant was killed Tuesday and a fellow student was in custody after a shooting on the campus of Purdue University in Indiana, police and campus authorities said.
The shooting in the electrical engineering department building was reported to campus police about noon ET, and a text alert immediately went out urging students and staff to shelter in place, said Liz Evans, a spokeswoman for the college in West Lafayette.

Anti-Gun Senator Makes a Fool of Himself

California Democrat Decries 30-Caliber-Magazine-Clip-Guns in Stunning Display of Idiocy
Apparently it’s a rule that, as a lawmaker, you have to tackle societal concepts with which you are stunningly ignorant. State Senator Kevin De Leon, (Democrat from the Socialist Republic of California’s crime ridden city of Los Angeles) recently put his amazingly acute idiocy on full display while talking about guns he thinks should be heavily regulated. Not surprisingly, the Democrat from California’s gang-infested city is a staunch supporter of increased gun control.
Holding what appears to be a weaponized amalgamation of steel and kydex, the senator let slip an incoherent ramble of gun terms that were clearly stacked for theatrical effect, and not accuracy or informative purposes.

Bill Introduced To Allow Concealed Carry Permits to Transfer Across State Lines Like Drivers Licenses

  IT'S ABOUT TIME !!!!
 Katie Pavlich | Jan 21, 2014
Texas Senator John Cornyn has introduced new legislation that if passed would allow concealed carry holders to travel from state to state without fear of breaking the law. The idea is similar to national reciprocity and concealed carry permits would be recognized as legal just like a drivers license.
San Antonio 1200 WOAI News Radio's Michael Board discussed the legislation with Cornyn yesterday. "It would allow people with a concealed handgun license in Texas to travel to other states and maintain their legal status," Cornyn told 1200 WOAI's Michael Board.
Late last year Illinois finally became the 50th state with concealed carry permissions and more people than ever are applying for permits all over the country. Last week at the SHOT Show is Las Vegas it was clear manufacturers are meeting the high demand of concealed carry firearms with new lines of compact, easily concealable pocket pistols.

Last year, a similar national reciprocity bill in the Senate received more votes than Senator Dianne Feinstein's gun control legislation. National reciprocity received 57 votes and Feinstein's legislation received just 40. Both pieces of legislation failed.

Irony: Wendy Davis Lectures Greg Abbott About Struggling

 Katie Pavlich | Jan 21, 2014
In case you missed it yesterday, the personal story of late-term abortion heroine and Democratic Candidate for Texas   Governor Wendy Davis has crumbled. Davis has repeatedly told the story of her struggle as a single mom who put herself through Harvard but it turns out, that story isn't true. An article published in The Dallas Morning News detailed the real situation of Davis' life. The details aren't  pretty.
Davis was 21, not 19, when she was divorced. She lived only a few months in the family mobile home while separated from her husband before moving into an apartment with her daughter.

A single mother working two jobs, she met Jeff Davis, a lawyer 13 years older than her, married him and had a second daughter. He paid for her last two years at Texas Christian University and her time at Harvard Law School, and kept their two daughters while she was in Boston. When they divorced in 2005, he was granted parental custody, and the girls stayed with him. Wendy Davis was directed to pay child support.
Jeff Davis said that was right around the time the final payment on their Harvard Law School loan was due. “It was ironic,” he said. “I made the last payment, and it was the next day she left.”

Not surprisingly in an effort to take attention away from herself and her lies, Davis is now blaming her Republican opponent, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, for "attacks" on her life and lectured last night on Twitter about the "struggles" Abbott just doesn't understand.
