A Pennsylvania man has been jailed on charges he shot a doorbell-ringing 14-year-old prankster in the foot.
State police in Gettysburg say it appears 28-year-old Erie Steinour was trying to frighten off the teen, who was with other juveniles who were ringing doorbells about 2 a.m. Friday in Biglerville.
Police have charged Steinour with aggravated assault and other crimes for allegedly shooting at the youths as they ran away. The boy's mother drove him to Gettysburg Hospital, and he was later taken to York Trauma Center for treatment of what police say was not a life-threatening wound.
Police say Steinour was arrested after he acknowledged firing the gun.
The Associated Press could not located a listed phone for Steinour and his attorney couldn't be reached Saturday. Online records show he was still in the Adams County Jail.
