Philly Dem Mayor Blames Flooding On Global Warming…

NUTTER: This is a seventh, uh, kind of worse rainstorm in the city’s history so, you know, we do the best that we can with these circumstances but, uh, I’ll take the first part of your question, there is no question in my mind for the last hundred people on the planet who are not sure about climate change, or is it’s real, unfortunately whether east coast, west coast, half way around the world, unfortunately we’re going to see more and more of these kind of severe weather events

Jay Carney Tries to Spin Damning Benghazi Email Evidence as "Republicans With Conspiracy Theories"
Katie Pavlich | May 01, 2014

Speaking and answering questions from the White House briefing room Thursday afternoon, Press Secretary Jay Carney tried to spin newly released and damning Benghazi email evidence as Republicans politicizing a tragedy, accusing them of being conspiracy theorists.
"What hasn't changed is the effort by Republicans to claim a conspiracy when they haven't been able to find one," Carney said, adding Republicans are, "trying to politicize a tragedy."
In case you missed it yesterday, new emails show White House National Security advisor Ben Rhodes deliberately altering talking points to cover-up the terror attack by shifting public focus to a YouTube video.

Official: 'We Should Have Tried' to Help During Benghazi Attack

By Carrie Dann
A retired military official who served at U.S. Africa Command in Germany during the time of the Benghazi attack says that the United States “should have tried” to send help to Americans under fire there.
“There are accounts of time, space and capability discussions of the question, could we have gotten there in time to make a difference,” Air Force Brigadier General Robert Lovell (Ret.) told the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. “Well, the discussion is not in the ‘could or could not’ in relation to time, space and capability. The point is we should have tried.

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford Takes Leave of Absence as Photo Emerges                    crack-smoking Mayor Rob Ford announced Wednesday he is taking a leave of absence to enter rehab after a new photo emerged showing the troubled politician with a copper pipe.

The image was a taken from a video that shows Ford smoking, inhaling and "frantically shaking his right hand," according to the Globe and Mail. The Canadian newspaper said its reporters had watched the footage and confirmed it had purchased five photos.

NBC News could not independently confirm the authenticity or content of the tape.
The national newspaper reported the film was one of three surreptitiously shot in the basement of the mayor's sister's home at 1:15 a.m. on Saturday.

Donald Sterling's pal V. Stiviano: 'One day, I will become president of the United States of America
FOX News · 1 hour ago
The woman who recorded Donald Sterling’s infamous racist rant is milking the scandal for all it’s worth.

V. Stiviano has been parading around Los Angeles in her now-trademark face visor — and even has an entourage decked out in baseball caps bearing her name, The Post reports.
During a bizarre encounter with photographers outside a La Brea Avenue restaurant, Stiviano — whose recording of Sterling got the LA Clippers owner banned for life from the NBA — claimed that she would eventually lead the free world.
“One day, I will become president of the United States of America. And I will change the legislation and laws,” she said, according to video posted online. “Modern-day history. Civil-rights movement.”

BA Legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Rips BOTH SIDES in Donald Sterling ‘Scandal’
Sears Shooting Stars Competition 2014
by Scott Aberdeen
The NBA players, media, and grievance mongers such as Al Sharpton are up in arms over vile L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s alleged racist remarks. But NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar today said a pox on both your houses – calling out the hypocrisy behind the whole affair and presenting by far the most rounded  – and surprisingly libertarian — view thus far.

Abdul-Jabbar, in an op-ed piece in TIME attacked the collective outrage emanating from America’s media over Sterling’s aremarks to his girlfriend, --- calling the publication of a private conversation “sleazy” and wondering why earlier, more public manifestations of racism failed to shock those such as Al Sharpton, and the NAACP.
Abdul-Jabbar explains that we’re witnessing a veritable “finger-wagging Olympics . . . all over the latest in a long line of rich white celebrities to come out of the racist closet.”
“Yes, I’m angry, too,” Abdul-Jabbar admits, “but not just about the sins of Donald Sterling. I’ve got a list.”
That list includes Sterling’s girlfriend, V. Stiviano, whose voice is heard on the racially-loaded tape and who likely set the Clippers’ owner up.

The real reason Michael Bloomberg cares about guns

AN OPINION.......... [A VERY GOOD ONE] April 25, 2014  by

It'€™s not the "gun" part of "gun control" that the ex-mayor is interested in
During Michael Bloomberg’s three terms as mayor of New York, he loved nothing more than to lord over the nation’s largest city. Now he’s just a normal civilian multibillionaire, sitting right below the prime minister of India on the Forbes list of the world’s most powerful people — a lowly position that is no doubt a source of immense personal disappointment. Short of patrolling New York’s parks in a spandex bodysuit to inflict vigilante justice on cigarette smokers and super-sized Slurpee drinkers, what’s a rich ex-mayor to do?
Luckily for Bloomberg, in American politics, controlling sublime amounts of capital is its own qualification, and lavishing it on pet issues counts as philanthropy. And this time, without an elected office to use for a pulpit, he’s going to need that money: After attacking tobacco and soda, Bloomberg is coming for guns.
In an extensive interview with The New York Times, the former mayor outlined his plan for a nationwide lobbying effort designed to counteract and overwhelm the National Rifle Association. He certainly has the cash: Despite its notoriety, the NRA spends only about $20 million a year, and relies heavily on the grassroots enthusiasm of its members. Bloomberg, on the other hand, shrugged at the idea of throwing in an experimental $50 million “as if he were describing the tip he left on a restaurant check.”           FULL STORY

 STORY  April 30, 2014
Who the f@$) does the NBA think they are? This is still the United States of America where we are supposed to have free speech and freedom of property. No matter how much I disagree with that speech. No matter how offensive the speech is. This is beyond PC run amok. This is totalitarian thinking. I haven't been to a Nazi Basketball Association game in years, and believe me I will not be going again.
Will I'm so sorry none of you can see your own hypocrisy
David  Bill, while I may not agree with you on this particular topic, I love your conviction!!! Happy to refer you any time!!!
Bill Maybe all of the people of color whom this man made millionaires out of should give back the "blood money", if they're so offended by what he said. I agree with Kov here, free speech is being put on trial here. Being a bigot is not a criminal offense. If this were the case, why not ban for life any and every African American player who ever uttered the word "cracker", or "whitey"?
The pendulum swings both ways here. The problem is, when it hits someone, the slippery slope you're knocked down is near impossible to recover from.

One by one, little by little we are losing our privacy and our rights

SCOTUS Weighs Warrantless Cellphone Searches

 Sarah Jean Seman | Apr 29, 2014

The Supreme Court heard oral arguments Tuesday concerning the legality of policemen searching an arrested citizen’s cellphone without a warrant. The two cases, Riley v. California and United States v Wurie, solicited an hour each.
The AP reported:
"People carry their entire lives on their cellphones," Justice Elena Kagan said.
The Fourth Amendment protects individuals from “unreasonable searches and seizures” when a warrant is not presented.  That is all the cops need to know !

another from "knuckledraggin my life away"

To serve and search…..

Pennsylvania police officers no longer need a warrant to search a citizen’s vehicle, according to a recent state Supreme Court opinion.
The high court’s opinion, released Tuesday, is being called a drastic change in citizens’ rights and police powers.
Previously, citizens could refuse an officer’s request to search a vehicle. In most cases, the officer would then need a warrant — signed by a judge — to conduct the search.
That’s no longer the case, according to the opinion written by Supreme Court Justice Seamus McCaffery.
Further into the article you’ll find this:
Lancaster defense attorney Michael Winters noted that police still need good reasons to pull over a vehicle and conduct a search.
“This does not mean that they may search every vehicle they stop,” Winters said. “They must still develop probable cause before they are permitted to search your vehicle without a warrant.”

Yes it does. We all know how honest the police are and how they’re (not) bound by the Constitution. This ruling means they can stop and search any fucking vehicle they want. All they have to do is say they smelled weed. That defense attorney is living in la-la land.

Is a Liberal Billionaire Behind Keystone Pipeline Delay?

Tom Steyer  On Good Friday, President Obama delayed the decision (again) on whether to approve construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada through the United States.
The official reason for the delay was a pending lawsuit in Nebraska that might affect the path of the pipeline. But the real reason behind the delay appears to point to a major Democratic donor with ties to “green” energy.
Tom Steyer is a billionaire hedge fund manager and major supporter of liberal candidates and causes; the most notable one being “climate change.”
Last February he met with a group of two dozen of the leading liberal donors with plans to build a $100 million war chest that will support Democratic candidates and climate-change ballot measures across the country.
In last year’s Democratic primary for US Senate in Massachusetts between Ed Markey and Stephen Lynch, Steyer spent over $400,000 on aggressive and outrageous attack ads just because Lynch was in favor of the Keystone pipeline. In the past few years, the billionaire has spent tens of millions of dollars on climate-change ballot measures in California alone.
The billionaire’s recent history and current plans for campaign spending point to Steyer as the reason why the Obama Administration “punted” and delayed the Keystone decision once again.
This decision could benefit Congressional Democrats in red states in the upcoming mid-term elections. If they can oppose President Obama on this issue, they can score political points and deflect attention away from ObamaCare.
Granted, it’s not the strongest issue or argument, but Democrats as a whole are vulnerable and are grasping at straws for any kind of political advantage they can get.

All this time, and they haven't found the plane, so they won't even consider another search site ????

Possible Wreckage in Bay of Bengal Isn't Flight MH370: Officials Rule ?

Officials have ruled out the suggestion that possible wreckage spotted thousands of miles away from an area where searchers have been hunting for Flight MH370 was linked to the missing jet.
"The Australian-led search is relying on information from satellite and other data to determine the missing aircraft's location,” the Joint Agency Coordination Center that is heading up the hunt off Australia's west coast said in a statement issued Tuesday.
A location in the Bay of Bengal, which is about 3,000 miles north of the search area, “is not within the search arc derived from this data,” the statement added. "The joint international team is satisfied that the final resting place of the missing aircraft is in the southerly portion of the search arc."

Benghazi emails suggest White House aide involved in prepping Rice for ‘video’ explanation

Newly released emails on the Benghazi terror attack suggest a senior White House aide played a central role in preparing former U.N. ambassador Susan Rice for her controversial Sunday show appearances -- where she wrongly blamed protests over an Internet video.
More than 100 pages of documents were released to the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch as part of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit. Among them was a Sept. 14, 2012, email from Ben Rhodes, an assistant to the president and deputy national security adviser for strategic communications.
In the email, Rhodes specifically draws attention to the anti-Islam Internet video, without distinguishing whether the Benghazi attack was different from protests elsewhere.STORY

Wisconsin School Changes Pledge of Allegiance
 Christine Rousselle | Apr 28, 2014
Madison East High School in Wisconsin has taken a few artistic liberties with the Pledge of Allegiance: they've switched the line "Under God" to "Under peace."
From Red State: (emphasis added)
Just last month, Samantha Murphy, a brave high school junior at Madison East High School, emailed me. In her freshman year, Madison East did not offer the Pledge every morning. Her family decided to talk to the principal and school board, reminding them that it is a state law to offer the Pledge every day. They pointed out Wisconsin State Statute Chapter 118, Section 6, which states “Every public school shall offer the pledge of allegiance or the national anthem in grades one to 12 each school day.”
After months of waiting and deciding if her family should go public with her school district’s unlawfulness and lack of patriotism, her school board finally obliged and started to offer the Pledge of Allegiance daily.
Samantha told me: “this went on without issue from around January of 2013 until March 4th, 2014.” On March 4th, Samantha says her school began to remove “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance, and added that they thought they were “above the law.” On the first day of revision, they took out the entire line “one nation under God.” The next day, they merely skipped the words “under God.” On the third day, Thursday March 6th, 2014, they replaced the word “God” with “peace.”
This is ridiculous. The law says that the pledge (or the national anthem) must be said; Madison East is not above the law. The Pledge of Allegiance does not have optional portions, and the term "under peace" doesn't occur in the official wording.

Do you find this disturbing ??

I find this particularly disturbing! -

All this time, looking in the wrong place ?????

New Lead? Possible MH370 Wreck Site Found 3,000 Miles Away

Officials will investigate possible aircraft wreckage spotted thousands of miles away from the area where searchers have been hunting for missing Flight MH370, Malaysia's transport minister said Tuesday.
“We are aware of a report citing the detection of potential aircraft wreckage in the Bay of Bengal,” acting transport minister Hishammuddin Hussein said. “China and Australia are also aware of this report. Malaysia is working with its international partners to assess the credibility of this information.”
Missing Plane Air Search Suspended
On Monday, Australian exploration company GeoResonance said they believed it may have located the wreckage more than 3,000 miles from where authorities have been looking off the western coast of Australia.
“We identified chemical elements and materials that make up a Boeing 777 ... these are aluminium, titanium, copper, steel alloys and other materials,” Pavel Kursa from GeoResonance told Australia’s 7News.
“The wreckage wasn’t there prior to the disappearance of MH370,” Kursa's colleague David Pope added, according to 7News.    VIDEO

Polar Bears Face Threats to Survival Thanks to Too Much Ice--- GLOBAL WARMING OF COURSE

Polar Bears Face Threats to Survival Thanks to Too Much Ice Katie Pavlich | Apr 28, 2014When the polar bear was put on the endangered species list back in 2008, it became the first species to be put on the list based on what might happen with the environment and their habitat. Environmental groups argued that global warming served as a major threat to the polar bear and therefore it must be added to the endangered list just in case someday it actually becomes endangered due to climate change.

Now just a few short years later, polar bears in Alaska are facing a major problem: too much ice. CNSNews has the details:
Five meters of ice– about 16 feet thick - is threatening the survival of polar bears in the Southern Beaufort Sea region along Alaska’s Arctic coast, according to Dr. Susan J. Crockford, an evolutionary biologist in British Columbia who has studied polar bears for most of her 35-year career.

That’s because the thick ice ridges could prevent ringed seals, the bears’ major prey, from creating breathing holes they need to survive in the frigid waters, Crockford told
Remember when global warming alarmists claimed polar bears would be drowning thanks to melting ice? :         I would like to point out, the scientific name of a polar bear is Ursus maritimus.----  WATER BEAR
The idea that scientists have been selling the "polar bears are drowning! we must save them through government regulation and taxpayer money!" argument for years is just embarrassing. Did we really buy the argument that the Urusus maritimus, water bear, was drowning? Why weren't photos released of "dead polar bears floating" in the Arctic?

Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair Schools NBC’s David Gregory On Rise Of Terrorism
During a discussion on Meet the Press Sunday, host David Gregory suggested to former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair that the US, Britain and others made a mistake when they went after Saddam Hussein, which Gregory said only led to more terrorism.
In a nutshell, Blair said “nonsense.” Yeah, Tony Blair’s still got it.
Donald Sterling’s Racist Rant Exposes NAACP’s Hypocracy
By now, we’ve all heard the racist tirade allegedly made by L.A. Clippers Owner Donald Sterling. He made it to his much-younger girlfriend, who strangely, might be half-black and half-Hispanic.
If you decide to listen to it, be warned: There’s no foul language, but otherwise, it’s about as offensive as you could get. It was bad enough to actually make my sphincter muscle tighten.
Reaction has been pretty swift. It looks like the NBA will take some action against Sterling and good ol’ Reverend Al is planning some kind of demonstration.
Just as it’s well within Sterling’s rights to be a racist, it’s also within the NBA’s right to punish him, and the Reverend Al has the right to try to hog the media spotlight for whatever idiotic ends he wants.
But this isn’t about Sterling or what his future holds. It’s specifically what his future doesn’t hold. It doesn’t hold another lifetime achievement award from the NAACP. For this alleged racist, I guess one is enough.
Back in 2009 Sterling received the NAACP’s “lifetime achievement award.” Even then, it was widely reported that Sterling had what Bryant Gumbel called a “troubled history” with racism.
Fast forward to today. On May 15, Sterling was slated to receive the lifetime achievement award from the Los Angeles chapter of the NAACP (they announced Sunday morning they would emphatically not give him the honor now). It was to be a star-studded event – that would have the Reverend Al named person of the year, coincidentally.
He’s been sued more than once for discrimination, yet the NAACP was still planning on bestowing on him their “lifetime achievement award”? Why? In the LA Times article linked above, it mentions that he donates basketball tickets to neighborhood youth. Is there more than that involved? Has Sterling made sizable contributions to the NAACP over the years? Inquiring minds want to know.

Holder Told to Curb Appearance or Risk Arrest

It’s not often that a high-powered political figure receives an “in your face” message that carries such impact that the figure must pay attention. Eric Holder, Attorney General of the United States, however, has been forced to reconsider his orating during a law enforcement class graduation ceremony, however.
Holder was scheduled to speak during the ceremony for Oklahoma City police cadets. Protesters, however, stood tall, spoke loudly and carried large signs: You don’t deserve the position; you shouldn’t be here, and if you show up, you could be arrested for crimes you perpetratated during your tenure.
Law enforcement officers, politicians and other advocates organized a protest rally and escalated disparagement over Holder’s ignoring the United States Constitution, which he swore to uphold uniformly, and his gross mishandling of at least two major scandals during his term in office.
Two of the higher profile issues involve the Fast and Furious program that had the U.S. sponsoring gun sales to Mexican drug cartels and the IRS targeting of politically conservative groups.
Neither of these debacles have been as thoroughly investigated as the Congress and the American people wish them to be.
Bob Dani, a protest organizer, stated the deserved arrest this way:
“Eric Holder is in contempt of Congress right now.”
This pending-arrest call is not brand new. The ground swell has been growing for weeks, at least, but Holder finally got the message with a spokesman’s announcement.
“The attorney general had been looking forward to addressing the cadets and regrets he cannot attend in person. He extends his heartfelt congratulations to the cadets and their families.”
That looks like strike-one and strike-two against Obummer. N-n-n-next?!
