Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s decision to recently delete a Father’s Day tweet from 2013 is causing quite the stir online.
From screenshots of the tweet, it reportedly read: “Happy Father’s Day to my aabo Nur Said, I am forever grateful to Allah for giving me the best father a..” before a link to an Instagram post which has also been deleted.
One America News Network’s Jack Posobiec reported that Omar first deleted the post, sharing a photo of it and tagging the congresswoman.
He captioned the photo with the question: “Why did you delete your Happy Father’s Day tweet?”
The tweet seems to be taken from another account, Imam of Peace, which also shared the screenshot and claimed the post was deleted, as Omar’s husband and father shared the same surname.
“Ilhan Omar has just deleted this tweet from 2013 that proves her father is Nur Said, which makes her Ilhan Nur Said (surnames are the fathers names in most Muslim/MENA countries), and that Ahmed Nur Said, who she married, is, in fact, her brother,” the account said.
