FOUR YEARS. SEVEN MONTHS. NO TRIAL. NO JUSTICE. AND NOW NOT EVEN A TRIAL DATE!!! PENNSYLVANIA LAWMAKERS — WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!
I am absolutely DISGUSTED with what the family of Sean Toomey continues to endure at the hands of our justice system! John just met with the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, only to find out that the trial for his son's murder has been pushed back AGAIN! And this time, there isn't even a new date! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
For those who don't remember, let me remind you.
On March 24, 2022, 15-YEAR-OLD SEAN TOOMEY walked outside his family's Philadelphia home to get a case of bottled water from his father's car. A CASE OF FUCKING WATER!!! He was a CHILD, doing something as innocent and ordinary as helping bring things into his home. And he was SHOT! His father found him lying on a neighbor's lawn.
THINK ABOUT THAT FOR ONE SECOND!
A father finds his 15-year-old son with a gunshot wound to the head, and more than FOUR AND A HALF YEARS LATER, he is STILL waiting for his son's murder case to go to trial!
HOW THE HELL IS THIS JUSTICE?! I AM CALLING OUT:

WHERE ARE YOU FOR THIS FAMILY?!
You want to talk about gun violence? Let's talk about what happens AFTER a child is murdered! Let's talk about the parents who have to bury their children! Let's talk about the families who are promised justice and then spend YEARS watching court dates get pushed further and further away! Let's talk about a father who has to walk into the District Attorney's Office FOUR AND A HALF YEARS after losing his son, only to walk back out without even knowing WHEN his son's murder trial will happen!
THAT IS ABSOLUTELY FUCKING UNACCEPTABLE!!!
WHEN THE HELL DO THE VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES START MATTERING?!
Sean doesn't get another birthday. He doesn't get to graduate, build a future, get married, or grow old. His family doesn't get to postpone their grief until it's convenient! What are YOU, as an elected official, doing to address the years-long delays in our criminal justice system?!
WE NEED ANSWERS. WE NEED ACCOUNTABILITY. WE NEED ACTION!!! THIS IS ABOUT A MURDERED 15-YEAR-OLD CHILD AND A FAMILY THAT HAS BEEN WAITING FOUR YEARS AND SEVEN MONTHS FOR THEIR DAY IN COURT!
If our elected officials cannot come together to demand answers and address these delays, then WHAT THE HELL ARE WE ELECTING THEM FOR?!
