Obamas credibility on Syria - empty threats ?

David Gergen: If Obama Doesn't Respect His Own Red Line Iran and Israel Won't Buy His Toughness
CNN senior political analyst David Gergen made a statement on CBS's Face the Nation Sunday that was rather hawkish for a former Clinton adviser.
"If [President Obama] doesn't respect his own red line on Syria, there is no question that Israel and Iran will look at that and say, 'Well, we can't trust the guy. He's not going to be tough.'"

DAVID GERGEN: I appreciate the Administration has a dilemma. They want Assad to fall. They want him to lose, but they don't want the rebels to win. It puts you in an awkward place because they're really worried it will become an Islamist state. But Norah, I respectfully disagree that the red line's a distraction. Once a President of the United States draws a red line it becomes important to the world. Everybody else reads in to how he responds to a red line. Is he serious about Iran? Is he not serious about Iran? He's drawn a red line on Iran. If he doesn't respect his own red line on Syria, there is no question that Israel and Iran will look at that and say, "Well, we can't trust the guy. He's not going to be tough."
NORAH O'DONNELL: But even if we cross the red line it's not clear that we're going to do anything further.
GERGEN: But to go back to John's point, the red line implies that you're going, and he said it's going to be a game changer. I mean, why did he draw the red line without knowing what he was going to do next?

Said it before, we're just gonna have to BAN them old dangerous knives

Annie Get Your iGun

The Bang! Bang! iPhone add-on is a case of apps gone wild.
advertisement
Talk about a killer app.
A new iPhone app that simulates gunfire and other weapon noises blasted its way into the App Store Monday, kicking off the countdown to the almost-inevitable first tragedy spawned by this ill-conceived product.
The so-called Bang! Bang! app features a picture of a gun – and “fires” when the user, holding the iPhone horizontally, tilts the device forward with a motion that mimics shooting a real pistol.
The gunshots sound real enough – that’s because they were taken from “Cinema quality effects sourced from Oscar-Winning Sound Designers,” boasts RnSK Softronics and Damabia, the folks responsible for the $1.99 app.
RnSK Softronics Firearms
“Experience the sweet release you can only get from a finely crafted firearm – a firearm so smooth and well-balanced it feels like an extension of your own hand,” notes the Web site ad copy.
“The details are astounding...you don’t just hear a ‘bang’...you hear casings hit door flaps and hit the ground, trailing echoes from your last bullet fired and even the ‘clunk’ of loading an individual shotgun shell.”
More versions reportedly are in the works – including an “Old Gangster” model with the virtual serial number scratched off and an AK-47-like machine gun.
Perhaps the most amazing thing about Bang! Bang! is that Apple let it in the App Store. Meanwhile, the App Store recently rejected the Obama Trampoline” game, which pokes fun at the president and other top politicians. That program, at least, provided a few laughs, but there’s nothing funny about guns.
For all the techie brainpower behind Bang! Bang!, common sense – and perhaps common decency – got tossed into the sewer like a smoking gun.
Paint your own horror scenario: Teenagers are playing cops and robbers with their iPhones on a dimly lit street. Real cops respond to what sounds like bullets…
Some municipalities have banned or have pushed to ban realistic-looking toy guns, but they probably never anticipated anything like Bang! Bang!
Defenders of the app are likely to argue that it’s a harmless novelty. But the novelty will wear off instantly with the first drop of blood shed because of an iGun.

NRA march

The Failure of the ‘Stop the NRA’ March Illustrates the Sharp Decline in Support for Gun Control

NRA MarchWhere were you on Thursday? Did you make it to the “Stop the NRA” march in DC? No? Don’t worry; nobody else did either.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. They might be right. Judging by the pictures from Thursday’s Stop the NRA march, the call for gun control has diminished to a whisper of what it was even just a few months ago.
The event was sponsored by Public Campaign, Occupy the NRA, CREDO, Every Child Matters, Moveon, United For Change, USA, New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, The Other 98%, and We Act Radio and was meant to recapture the enthusiasm for anti-gun legislation.
Carrying trite slogans accusing the NRA of fueling bloodshed for having the audacity to stand up for our Second Amendment rights, the crowd was generously estimated to be around 100, including media. The protesters marched along, and anxiously awaited the unveiling of Shepard Fairey’s newest poster.
Fairey was the artist responsible for Obama’s “Hope” picture that festooned the walls of dorm rooms everywhere and adorned the tee shirts of hipsters and other liberals who wished to showcase just how “progressive” they were.
The poster was revealed and, as one might expect, the poster blasts the NRA and says, “America: The land where God saves and Satan invests in assault weapons and high capacity magazines.” Fairey’s rhetoric seems a day late and a dollar short to resonate with Americans who are no longer clamoring for government to enact gun control.
If we compare Thursday’s march with the one in DC in January, it serves as a perfect illustration as to the grace from which the anti-gunners have fallen. In January, thousands marched in opposition to our Second Amendment rights. Many held signs demanding that Congress ban “assault weapons.” 100 residents of Newtown traveled to the protest. On Thursday, less than that showed up for the rally total.
This is hardly a scientific analysis of support for gun control; it is merely an observation. President Obama continually tried to shame Americans with an odd brand of peer pressure. He repeated over and over again that 90% of Americans supported gun control.
If that’s true, where’s the outrage? Where are the masses filling the street, outraged at Congress for being unable to pass gun control legislation? According to Obama, nine out of ten people are disappointed but yet, we hear virtually nothing. According to the frequently-cited stat, nine out of ten people should be outraged. But less than 100 people could gather in the nation’s capital to protest and share that outrage.
Could it be that the Dear Leader lied for the sake of political expediency?

Williams-Sonoma Concedes Victory to Terrorists, Pulls Pressure Cookers From Shelves

Williams-SonomaIn what can only be described as a posthumous victory for raging asshole Tamerlan Tsarnaev, Williams-Sonoma, the (absolutely amazing) kitchen-stuff company, has pulled pressure cookers--which the Tsarnaevs built into bombs--from shelves in Massachusetts. Patch reports:
Following the Boston Marathon bombing last Monday in which pressure cookers were used for the explosion, the cookware giant has decided to temporarily stop selling the items in their Massachusetts stores.
"It's a temporary thing out of respect," said Kent, who is the Store Manager of the Williams-Sonoma at the Natick Mall. He referred Patch to corporate for further questions. Williams-Sonomaalso has a local branch at Legacy Place in Dedham.
Pressure cookers will still be available on the Williams-Sonoma website.
What's next, a self-imposed ban on the sale of backwards baseball caps?

EXPENSIVE MASSAGES, TOP SHELF VODKA AND FIVE STAR HOTELS: First lady accused of spending $10M of public money on her vacations.........By Daily Mail Report

Michelle can spend millions while air controllers get furloughed
WASHINGTON — Republican lawmakers on Tuesday accused the Obama administration of a creating a "phony and contrived" crisis as travelers across the country face delays due to the Federal Aviation Administration's furlough of air traffic controllers.
"It smells," South Dakota Sen. John Thune told reporters in the Capitol on Tuesday. "It smells of politics."
The FAA implemented furloughs of its air traffic controllers on Sunday, citing the recent automatic budget cuts known as sequestration, which went into effect earlier this year. Republicans accuse the administration of cutting things that would inconvenience average Americans in order to portray the cuts as worse than they

Total bullshit........ If he didn't have this shirt on , the confrontation would not have happened. He wouldn't have been expelled, nor arrested, He "disrupted" school? What happened to the teacher? He instigated the argument, Oh, I'm sorry, this student is just a lowly kid ! " Kudos" When he returned to school, he wore the same shirt.

I checked this out on the link below and it's real.
Why won't the media report how guns DO save lives and prevent violence ???

Coach Shoots Two Attackers, Saves Two Females & Himself A 70-year-old woman's basketball coach was attacked in the parking lot at Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School in Detroit, MI while walking two players to their cars.
The men were armed, but so was the coach. The suspects approached the coach and the girls and one pulled out their gun. The coach quickly pulled out his gun and shot both suspects. One died and the other was taken to a local hospital.
Both suspects attended the high school and one was recently expelled.
Both girls and the coach were unharmed.
The coach has a permit to carry and is cooperating with authorities. But this raises an important question to those who want more gun control. What would have happened to this 70-year-old man and two young females if he did not have his gun? Armed citizens save lives. Because of his gun the coach and two girls are still alive.

MAYBE NBC SHOULD "REPORT" NEWS, INSTEAD OF "SIDING" WITH OBAMA THE CRYBABY

Why does he think he is always right ? Aren't we intelligent enough to make up our own mind, and if we don't agree with him, we're wrong ? I guess we should just get rid of congress, Obama will make all our decisions. It's about time congress stood up for those who elected them! I'm tired of hearing "executive order".........

an article found on Examiner.com.....Boston a Police State ? or Martial Law ??

I'm one of those people still not sure what happened at Sandy Hook school, did the shooting actually happen or was it a "false flag" event ? I started to think more about the Boston bombing. I'm not saying that people weren't hurt, I saw that on live TV. What I wonder about are the events that took place afterwards. After who was responsible was determined, the pursuit was started. My question..how many law officers does it take to apprehend two young terrorists? Just from memory  they had.....Boston police......state police.....FBI.....DHS......Justice dept.....and I think some National guard. No idea how many of each, but collectively must have been thousands. This is where I have a problem.....Did they need all of these officers AND equipment to catch two inexperienced fugitives ? was this a show of force? Demonstrating to the public that martial law is a heartbeat away, that any uprising of the people can quickly be dealt with. I'm sure our "elected" officials are aware of the talk of resistance to having our second amendment rights taken away, was this done to show their power? I also watched video of a house being searched for the fugitive, where the "police" entered a house, without warrents, and made the residents leave with their hands up or on their heads, like they were the criminals. The police knew what the fugitive looked like, so this treatment was unnecessary and illegal Again, is this what we can look forward to ? A police state under the dictatorship of Obama ??? PAPPY

I guess I'm not the only one to think this way........
