Left’s Impeachment Hysteria Portrays Obama As Trayvon Martin

Remember when Obama said if he had a son he might look like slain teen Trayvon Martin? Well, it turns out Obama actually is Trayvon Martin. At least that’s how he’s being depicted in a political cartoon that perpetuates the myth that Republicans are trying to impeach the President.
Appearing in the Chattanooga Free Times Press, the cartoon shows Obama as a nervous Skittle’s-carrying hoody-wearing Trayvon, being stalked by a sinister looking George Zimmerman with “impeachment” written across his jacket. Unfortunately, it looks like the newspaper is trying to scrub this cartoon from the website as there are no links that work anymore.

Motorists Rescue Boy Riding Toy ATV on NYC Parkway

Motorists rescued a 6-year-old boy who was driving a motorized toy vehicle on a New York parkway Sunday, police say.

The boy, whose family says he has autism, was at a park in Mount Vernon with his grandmother and a teenage relative around 7:40 p.m. when he drove off in the all-terrain toy vehicle, according to Westchester police.

A few minutes later, after the boy was reported missing, police started getting 911 calls about a child riding a toy ATV on the Bronx River Parkway, authorities say. The boy most likely got on the highway at an exit on Oak Street, according to officials.

Police say a group of two or three motorists shielded the boy from traffic with their cars and guided him to the side of the highway. One driver got out of a vehicle to get the 6-year-old. 

Officers arrived and the boy was taken to Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital, where he was reunited with his family.

Netanyahu To Obama ‘Never Second-Guess Me Again’

    The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has become more and more violent and caustic to both sides, threatening the stability of the region. As such, international interests, including the US and the UN, have intervened to establish lasting ceasefires. With the Obama’s administration, through Secretary of State John Kerry, pressure to establish a ceasefire has failed so far. The original ceasefire, meant to last 72 hours, stood for 2, after the Gaza terror group Hamas killed 2 IDF soldiers during the ceasefire.
    Prime Minister Netanyahu has reportedly responded behind closed doors by telling US officials to “not to ever second guess me again.” This stern message makes clear two things: an internationally sanctioned ceasefire will not be followed by Hamas and Israel will make every effort to end the conflict, even if it means abandoning the peace process. The international community has had a great deal of trouble understanding this conflict due to its unique nature of an unpopular country with a powerful military fighting against an incredibly powerful and well organized terror organization.
    Regardless of the stance held by many nations that Israel is not entirely in the right regarding this conflict, they were not the ones who ended the ceasefire and killed enemy combatants during a time of relative peace. Netanyahu’s disdain for the actions of US makes clear that he has a greater understanding of Hamas than the US, a terrorist organization as recognized by the US State Department. Netanyahu’s experience must be trusted in order to avoid another failed ceasefire such as this one.

Most people have heard of silenced pistols and submachine guns. The technical term for a silenced gun is suppressed. Now, there is a shotgun with a silencer. There was a video that showed a semi-automatic 12 gauge shotgun being emptied in just four seconds. The video featured Chris Cheng, who was the winner of the fourth season of “Top Shot.” “Top Shot” is a show that comes on the History Channel. Viewers were amazed at how quiet the gun was when it was being emptied.

Guns have been a very controversial topic during the past few years, so many people would be surprised to find out that a video of a gun actually went viral. The video, which only lasts 14 seconds, was posted on Top Shot Chris Cheng’s YouTube channel on July 22, 2014. The video managed to get over two million views in just one week. It also managed to get over 40,000 shares on Facebook.

Gov't Closing Emergency Child Immigrant Shelters

The U.S. government is closing emergency shelters at military base shelters in Texas, Oklahoma and California being used to temporarily house unaccompanied immigrant children caught crossing the border.

Health and Human Services spokesman Kenneth Wolfe says operations at the shelters will soon be suspended because there have been fewer child immigrants caught at the border and the government has expanded capacity at other shelters.

Oklahoma's shelter at Fort Sill is expected to close by Friday. Shelters in Texas at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland and in California at the Naval Base Ventura County-Port Hueneme ("Why-NEE-mee") will wrap up operations in the next two to eight weeks.

The shelters have housed a combined 7,700 immigrant children since opening in May and early June.

Mystery Animal Roams the Streets in California

Is it a lion?

A dog?

A Chupacabra?

Residents in Norwalk, California, are jittery over reports of an African lion possibly roaming the streets.

So far, only grainy security images of the mysterious creature have emerged, showing the animal prowling along the sidewalk.

California Department of Fish and Wildlife experts studied that footage. The cat-like animal is not a mountain lion, authorities determined.

“Department officials still cannot definitively identify the type of animal,” authorities said. “They will continue to investigate.”

Norwalk Mayor Marcel Rodarte is intrigued by the creature’s appearance.

“The tail doesn’t seem to match up to the physical traits of a mountain lion, so it is still a mystery,” Rodarte said.

Authorities with a local zoo claimed all the big cats are accounted for.

A similar lion scare occurred last year in Virginia -- but that ominous animal turned out to be a bizarrely-coiffed labradoodle named Charles the Monarch. While dog-grooming tricks can confuse people from time to time, the gait of the mystery beast in California has residents concerned.

“We’ve got dogs and my sister got another little dog, so we’re all just making sure everybody keeps their pets inside,” resident Elizabeth Colon said.

In an unusual breach of decorum, even for the divided Congress, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi chased Rep. Tom Marino across the House floor, taking offense at comments by the Pennsylvania Republican during debate on the border funding bill Friday night.
“We don’t have law and order,” Marino began as he wrapped up his comments on the border supplemental. “My colleagues on the other side don’t want to do anything about it.”
“You know something that I find quite interesting about the other side? Under the leadership of the former Speaker [Pelosi], and under the leadership of their former leader [Rep. Steny Hoyer], when in 2009 and 2010, they had the House, the Senate and the White House, and they knew this problem existed,” he continued. “They didn’t have the strength to go after it back then. But now are trying to make a political issue out of it now.”
Off-mic, Pelosi then approached Marino, crossing the aisle in view of cameras, and apparently challenged Marino’s assertion that Democrats did not do anything about the issue when they had majority control     .STORY AND VIDEO

Rancher: Standoff With Feds a Spiritual Battle ST. GEORGE, Utah — Aug 3, 2014    Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy claims the April confrontation between the federal government and his armed supporters was part of an age-old spiritual battle between good and evil.Bundy, a Mormon, told an Independent American Party gathering in St. George, Utah, on Saturday that God provided him personal inspiration in the showdown over cattle in Bunkerville, Nevada, about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas.

"The Lord told me ... if (the local sheriff doesn't) take away these arms from federal agents, we the people will have to face these arms in a civil war. He said, 'This is your chance to straighten this thing up,'" Bundy said, according to The Spectrum of St. George ( http://bit.ly/1pRx8nq ).

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management backed down in the standoff, citing safety concerns. Bundy's allies subsequently released the 380 cattle collected from the range during a weeklong operation.

President Obama had a lot of lofty goals in his State of the Union speech earlier this year. He declared it would be a ‘year of action’ - meaning if Congress didn’t get things done, he would. Yet, seven months later, he doesn’t have much to justify his ambitious rhetoric.
Minimum Wage
Obama had hopes to raise the minimum wage to $10.10/hour for federal contract workers.
January 2014: “Say yes! Give America a raise!” (accompanied by a standing ovation.)
July 2014: “But despite his renewed calls for lawmakers to broaden pay talks, the federal minimum wage has remained untouched, at $7.25 per hour,” the Washington Post writes.
Immigration
Everyone knows we have a border crisis. President Obama had what he thought would be a surefire approach to overhauling the broken system. “The President’s plan builds a smart, effective immigration system that continues efforts to secure our borders and cracks down on employers who hire undocumented immigrants,” declared whitehouse.gov. Yet, once again, this part of his SOTU speech proved to be chock-full of empty promises.
January 2014: “Let’s get immigration reform done this year!”
July 2014: “There is a larger issue I realize that involves a lot of politics, which is ‘why aren’t we passing comprehensive immigration reform?’ which would put an additional 20,000 border patrol agents and give us a lot of additional authority to deal with some of these problems, and that should have done a year ago. It should have been done two years ago. It’s gotten caught up in politics.”

Gun-control advocates are learning the downside of getting their way. Recently, a federal judge struck down the District of Columbia's ban on the carrying of concealed handguns. Anti-gun forces have been losing in legislatures for a long time. Now they are finding that even where they win, they lose.
Washington used to have the strictest gun laws in America. Besides the prohibition of concealed guns, all firearms had to be registered and handgun ownership was forbidden.
The restrictions had no evident effect on crime: In the 1990s, the nation's capital was known as the murder capital. But they invited a legal challenge -- a historic one, as it happened. In 2008, the Supreme Court invalidated the city's handgun ban as a violation of the Second Amendment.

House Votes To Allow Obama Lawsuit

In a historically unprecedented move, the House of Representatives voted on Wednesday to sue President Barack Obama for overstepping his presidential powers.

In a party-line vote of 225 to 201, House Republicans authorized House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, to file a lawsuit seeking “appropriate relief” from what they claim is Obama’s unilateral application of the Affordable Care Act.
The suit is likely to claim that Obama exceeded his executive authority when his administration twice delayed a provision of the ACA that would penalize businesses that do not offer health insurance to their employees.
Boehner insisted the suit was not merely a partisan swipe at Obama, who is a Democrat. “This isn’t about Republicans and Democrats,” Boehner said Wednesday. “It’s about defending the Constitution that we swore an oath to uphold, and acting decisively when it may be compromised.”
The lawsuit ups the stakes in an already contentious and hyper-partisan environment in Washington, D.C. While individual members of Congress have sued sitting presidents before, neither the House nor the Senate has ever challenged a president’s legal authority in the courts.
Democrats have slammed the suit as a political stunt and come to the president’s defense.
“It is yet another Republican effort to pander to the most radical right-wing voters at taxpayers’ expense,” said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
Legal experts say the Supreme Court has refused to become involved in all previous political fights between Congress and the president and will likely side-step the case.
