Former Secretary of State and current Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has been under criminal investigation by the FBI for nearly a year. At this point, it's been reported Clinton hosted thousands of emails containing classified information on her private email server. Worse, at least 22-emails contain the most sensitive of all top secret information about human sources, putting lives at risk in addition to compromising U.S. national security.

Yesterday on The Intelligence Report, former House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa explained why FBI Direct James Comey has no choice but to refer Clinton for indictment.
"The Director is somebody who cares a great deal about national security and with the body of evidence, he really has no choice but to refer this for indictment," Issa said. "We have communications back and forth to the President from Hillary Clinton's private email, we have 1300 sensitive documents, 22 classified at the highest level, this is well past anyone claiming that they didn't know."

LA Times Calls The No-White-People NAACP Image Awards ‘The Most Diverse Awards Show’

As we know, racism is a one-way street: if a white person says or does something it is racist but if a black person says or does the exact same thing or something similar it is not racist. As it turns out, diversity follows the same traffic laws: if something has too many white people it lacks diversity but if it has almost all black people it is diverse. Case and point: the NAACP Image Awards. The mostly black and nearly no white awards are being hailed by the LA Times as the most diverse awards show of the year.

In response to the lack of black actor nominations in this year’s Academy Awards, the ultra-liberal LA Times struck back by proclaiming:

And in case you weren’t sure what they were talking about, they said it again:

As the NAACP Image Awards presentation gears up for a live broadcast on Friday, its red carpet, audience and winners list look to be the most diverse of the awards-show season.

According to the website, the NAACP Image Awards is…

…the nation’s preeminent multicultural awards show from an African-American point of view. The event celebrates the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts, as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors.

   Despite that “multicultural” designation, the Image Awards are primarily for black people. So, the question is, why does the LA Times call this black thing a diverse event? Well, because 1 Latina and 1 Asian have been nominated for something. You get that? An Asian, a Latina, and a bunch of black people equals diversity.
   I checked out the TV acting nominees and the only non-black nods went to Gina Rodriguez from Jane The Virgin and Hudson Yang from Fresh Off The Boat. Out of 65 possible acting nominations, two went to non-blacks and none at all for whites. As for the film acting nominees, all 20 went to black actors. How’s that for diversity?
   While the Oscars this year have no black nominees, it’s not like the Academy Awards are exclusively for white people. Blacks have been nominated and even won in the past. It’s based on talent and performance rather than race. The Image Awards, on the other hand, is almost exclusively for blacks and not based on talent or performance, but rather race. Somehow in this scenario the Oscars are racist and the Image Awards are empowering.
   When black celebrities say they are boycotting the Oscars not because of race, but rather due to fairness and inclusion, I wonder what they think about the Image Awards. If Will Smith and his untalented wife had any integrity, they would skip the NAACP awards show as well.
As a white guy that believes equality is achieved when everyone is treated equally, this doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, but I think I’m starting to come around: Yesterday’s NHL All-Star game was not diverse because it was mostly white players but the NBA All-Star game with its all-black starting line-up is incredibly diverse. See, everything makes sense when you abandon logic.

For the can’t-make-this-up file, Washington D.C. lawmakers unanimously approved a bill that would start a pilot program to pay residents not to commit crimes.
This initial proposal is for “up to 200 people per year” who have been identified as “at risk for committing a crime” to participate in behavioral therapy of some sort. And if at the end of the therapy they haven’t committed a crime, they get paid an as of yet unidentified amount.

A similar program in Richmond, California pays people $9000 a year to not commit crimes, but that’s like comparing apples and oranges:

Of course taxpayers would pay. Duh!
We’ve really lost our way as a country, haven’t we?

A group with donations from Tallassee, Alabama is fundraising to install a Confederate flag across from Alabama State University, a predominately black university, the T allassee Tribune reported Wednesday.
The First Capital Flaggers is halfway to its $3,000 fundraising goal to erect the flagpole, which can range from 30 to 50 feet, the newspaper reported.
An unnamed Montgomery physician donated the property for the flag's placement. The flag is intended to mark the "first capitol of the Confederacy."
"We're hoping everyone can see it. We want people to ask questions, we want them to listen," Bryan Jones, who is involved with the organizations behind the flag's placement, told the publication.
Alabama State University officials didn't provide the publication with comment.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A federal grand jury has indicted Ammon Bundy and some of the men and women who joined him at the armed occupation of an Oregon wildlife refuge, authorities said Wednesday.
However, the indictment remained sealed and further details on the charges were unavailable.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Geoff Barrow said the documents would be unsealed within 24 hours.
Barrow said the indictment was returned against the 11 people who have already been arrested and others, perhaps a reference to the last four holdouts at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.
Defense attorneys demanded the immediate unsealing of the indictment — a request denied Wednesday by U.S. Magistrate Judge Janice Stewart.

In a separate matter, an attorney for Shawna Cox — a defendant allowed to return home to Utah as her case goes through the court system — asked Wednesday for her client to be allowed to attend Finicum's funeral on Friday. The funeral is in the same town where Cox lives.

Judge Stewart denied the request.

In most states, when you want to get a gun, you go down to the gun shop, fill out the required paperwork to get your handgun (or rifle), wait 30 minutes to an hour for the approval to come, and then walk out with your gun after paying for it.
It’s pretty straightforward… as it should be. The second amendment says you have the right to own a weapon, and with advanced computer database systems it really doesn’t take that long to get the ball rolling on your purchase.
Some states, however, are a little more restrictive when it comes to gun purchases.
States like Maryland, for instance, require any purchaser of a firearm to fill out a permit request before they can get a weapon.
Often times the permit request can get caught up in a long line bureaucratic mess which delays access to a gun by weeks and even months.
In some cases this can lead to injury or death, especially when the person is attempting to buy the firearm when threats to their lives have been made.

A judge's formal order releasing protester Shawna Cox makes no mention of a condition issued in court on Friday that the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge occupation would have to end before she could leave jail.
The formal order, signed by U.S. Magistrate Court Judge Stacie F. Beckerman and dated Monday, calls for Cox to be placed on home detention with GPS monitoring and that her travel be limited to Kanab, Utah, Fredonia, Arizona, and Multnomah County for future court appearances.
She also was ordered to not possess or control any firearms, surrender her passport and have no contact with the co-defendants in the case.

Is Congress Declaring War on ISIS… Or On You? Ron Paul | Feb 01, 2016

Passage of Senator Mitch McConnell’s authorization for war against ISIS will not only lead to perpetual US wars across the globe, it will also endanger our civil and economic liberties. The measure allows the president to place troops anywhere he determines ISIS is operating. Therefore, it could be used to justify using military force against United States citizens on U.S. territory. It may even be used to justify imposing martial law in America.
The President does not have to deploy the U.S. military to turn America into a militarized police state, however. He can use his unlimited authority to expand programs that turn local police forces into adjuncts of the U.S. military, and send them increasing amounts of military equipment. Using the threat of ISIS to justify increased police militarization will be enthusiastically supported by police unions, local officials, and, of course, politically-powerful defense contractors. The only opposition will come from citizens whose rights have been violated by a militarized police force that views the people as the enemy.

However, another equally despicable trade in humans was taking place around the same time in the Mediterranean. It is estimated that up to 1.25 million Europeans were enslaved by the so-called Barbary corsairs, and their lives were just as pitiful as their African counterparts. They have come to be known as the white slaves of Barbary. Slavery is one of the oldest trades known to man. We can first find records of the slave trade dating back to The Code of Hammurabi in Babylon in the 18th century BCE. People from virtually every major culture, civilization, and religious background have made slaves of their own and enslaved other peoples. However, comparatively little attention has been given to the prolific slave trade that was carried out by pirates, or corsairs, along the Barbary coast (as it was called by Europeans at the time), in what is now Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya, beginning around 1600 AD.
