NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) — A Middlesex County man cleared of a conviction that landed him in prison for three years over a BB gun is suing the state for damages, which could pay out upwards of $150,000.
The wrongful conviction lawsuit was filed on Dec. 14 in Middlesex County Superior Court after the state appellate court ruled the case against 30-year-old hinged on warrantless search.
NJ.com (http://bit.ly/2iahTx2) reports that Jason Patterson’s suit stems from a traffic stop in Metuchen in 2008, when the then 22-year-old who had abruptly stopped at a yellow light and ended up “a little past the intersection,” the court papers say.

The same group that he was scheduled to address, the MAS, paid for Ellison’s December 2008 pilgrimage to Mecca. MAS has been called a “national security threat” which has ties to the Brotherhood, as documented in a report Monday by IPT.

Last week in court, Jamal Mansour, 64, pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder charges, and his attorney reaffirmed the same reason for the shooting: A mere accident.
This despite new evidence entered into court that Mansour was caught on video loading his revolver at a gas station the day before the shooting.

Seattle’s Democrat Mayor Ed Murray was so concerned that Muslims and other residents weren’t buying enough homes in his city that he had a committee investigate how that could be rectified.

One of the committee’s recommendations: Banks need to offer “Shariah-compliant” mortgage loans for Seattle’s growing Muslim community.

Muslims are forbidden by their religious law, Shariah, from paying interest on loans so they must be offered loans structured in such a way that interest is not part of the package.

The 28-member committee recommended the city convene lenders and community leaders to explore options for increasing access to Shariah-compliant loans, the Puget Sound Business Journal reported.

“We will work to develop new tools for Muslims who are prevented from using conventional mortgage products due to their religious beliefs,” said Murray, at a recent press conference.

“More and more lenders are offering Shariah-compliant financing, according to a USA Today report,” the Journal reports. “The sector has grown to more than $1.6 trillion in assets worldwide over the past three decades, and analysts see potential for continued growth as the number of Muslims in the United States and Europe grows.”

The Obama administration, with the full support of Congress, is following an immigration policy that allows at least 100,000 Muslims into the country every year, according to U.S. Census data.

So financial-service companies see that as a business opportunity.

But those who see Shariah law as anti-Western and anti-American see the trend differently than banks and corporations.

If the election was decided by the popular vote, than we would be swearing in a President Hillary Clinton.
But that’s not how it works. And – as he has said many time – if Donald Trump was campaigning for the popular vote, rather than the electoral vote, he would have campaigned much differently.
Perhaps he would have spent more time in California – a state that voted overwhelmingly for Hillary Clinton.
But he didn’t and Hillary’s margin of victory in that state was 4.3 million votes – or 61.5 percent
And therein lies the rub.
The purpose of the Electoral College is to prevent regional candidates from dominating national elections.

Last week, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals declared that the Constitution of the United States required schools to allow boys who believe they are girls to use the girls’ restrooms. This would come as a shock to the people who wrote the Constitution, but so is most leftist jurisprudence these days.
The case follows on a US District Court ruling in Ohio from September in which the court issued an order to Highland Local School District to open its girls’ bathrooms to boys who believe they are girls. That court wrote, “The court orders School District officials to treat Jane Doe as the girl she is, including referring to her by female pronouns and her female name and allowing her to use the girls’ restroom at Highland Elementary School.” The judge, as Daniel Horowitz of Conservative Review notes, invoked the 14^th Amendment, stating, “[A]s a tiny minority of the population, whose members are stigmatized for their gender non-conformity in a variety of settings, transgender people are a politically powerless minority group.”

How? The courts see themselves as instruments of goodness and kindness, not as instruments of law. Even the laws of nature must bow before their preference for cosmic justice, imposed by man – or more specifically, by them. None of this helps children who suffer from gender dysphoria, nor does it help protect confused children or children who simply wish to be left in private with members of their own biological sex when engaging in private biological activities. But it makes leftists feel good about themselves. And that’s what the Constitution mandates, isn’t it?

A friend of President-elect Donald Trump is standing by statements he made to an alternative weekly newspaper in Buffalo about President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, who he said he hopes “die” and get “let loose” in Africa.
Carl Paladino was among many people who told Artvoice their wishes for 2017, but the response of the New York developer and onetime candidate for New York Governor has stirred the most controversy by far. For 2017, Paladino said he wishes for President Obama to die of mad cow disease after “being caught having relations with a Herford,” referring to the Hereford cow breed.
The co-chair of Trump’s New York campaign also named the First Lady in his widely condemned comments. “I’d like her to return to being a male and let loose in the outback of Zimbabwe where she lives comfortably in a cave with Maxie, the gorilla,” Paladino said.

Paladino stood by his words in a statement to the Washington Post, denying that they were racist and rejecting the notion that they were bad for Trump. “It has nothing to do with race,” Paladino said. “It’s about 2 progressive elitist ingrates who have hated their country so badly and destroyed its fabric in so many respects in 8 years.”
Paladino also told the Post that he is “active” with the president-elect. “I don’t think Mr. Trump particularly cares what I have to say,” he said. “He knows me. I was active with him, and I still am active with him.”
A spokesperson for Trump denounced Paladino’s words in a statement reported by the New York Times. “Carl’s comments are absolutely reprehensible, and they serve no place in our public discourse,” said Trump spokesperson Jessica Ditto.
Others have denounced Paladino’s remarks, including New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who called the words “racist, ugly, and reprehensible” in a statement. “While most New Yorkers know Mr. Paladino is not to be taken seriously, as his erratic behavior defies any rational analysis and he has no credibility, his words are still jarring,” Cuomo said.
In several interviews after the release by Artvoice, Paladino has said he meant to cast light on the president’s “transgressions” and called them “old style humor.”
“I did it to wake people up; I did it to get people’s attention,” Paladino told the Times.

Vladmir Putin is vehemently dismissing accusations the Russians hacked the Democratic Party and interfered with the U.S. presidential election.
In a lengthy criticism of Democrats, Russia’s president advised Hillary Clinton’s supporters to accept their failure and stop scapegoating “external factors” like Russia for their defeat.
“They are losing on all fronts and looking elsewhere for things to blame,” he said during his annual end-of-year press conference Friday. “In my view this, how shall I say it, degrades their own dignity. You need to learn how to lose gracefully.”

“The Democratic Party lost not only the presidential elections, but elections in the Senate and Congress,” he said. “Did we do that, too?”

Putin accused Democrats of “shamelessly” abusing their status as the ruling party to try to influence public opinion.
“(We are talking about) a party which has clearly forgotten the original meaning of its own name,” he said. “Outstanding figures in American history from the ranks of the Democratic Party would likely be turning in their graves. Roosevelt certainly would be.”

Clinton told her top donors at a holiday party last week that Russia was responsible for Trump’s victory. She claimed Putin damaged her candidacy by hacking the Democratic National Committee in light of his longtime vendetta against her.
Putin said Democrats should have apologized to American voters over the information revealed by hackers who leaked Democratic National Committee e-mails.
“It’s not important who did the hacking,” he said. “It’s important that the information that was revealed was true. That is important,”
During the press conference, which reportedly went on for four hours, Putin also reiterated his interest in improving relations with the United States after Trump’s inauguration.

“Trump understood the mood of the people and kept going until the end, when nobody believed in him,” Putin said, smiling. “Except for you and me.”

Putin said Russia hopes to develop “businesslike and constructive relations that would benefit both Russia and the United States” and quoted a recent poll that claims one-third of Republicans view him favorably.
“It means that a significant part of the American people have the same perception about how the world should be developing,” he said. “It is good that people support us in this, in terms of traditional values.”
