Dan Crenshaw, Republican from Texas , lost his right eye in Afghanistan . All three of these men are Purple Heart recipients. How often have you seen them on the evening news? How often have we seen the two Muslim women and the communist from NY all blabbering vulgarities and spouting out anti-Israel/anti-American insults. Such appreciation for real service to our nation!!

The map above was created by matching the economic output (Gross Domestic Product) for each US state (and the District of Columbia) in 2017 to a foreign country with a comparable nominal GDP last year, using data from the BEA for GDP by US state and data for GDP by country from the International Monetary Fund.

For each US state (and the District of Columbia), we identified the country closest in economic size in 2017 (measured by nominal GDP) and those matching countries are displayed in the map above and in the table below. Obviously, in some cases, the closest match was a country that produced slightly more, or slightly less, economic output in 2017 than a given US state.

It’s pretty difficult to even comprehend how ridiculously large the US economy is, and the map above helps put America’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of $19.4 trillion ($19,400,000,000,000) in 2017 into perspective by comparing the economic size (GDP) of individual US states to other country’s entire national output.

Overall, the US produced 24.3% of world GDP in 2017, with only about 4.3% of the world’s population. Three of America’s states (California, Texas and New York) – as separate countries – would have ranked in the world’s top 11 largest economies last year. Together, those three US states produced nearly $6.0 trillion in economic output last year, and as a separate country would have ranked as the world’s third-largest economy and ahead of No. 4 Japan ($4.8 trillion) by more than $1 trillion. And one of those states – California – produced more than $2.7 trillion in economic output in 2017 – and the other two (Texas and New York) produced $1.7 trillion and $1.5 trillion of GDP in 2017 respectively. Adjusted for the size of the workforce, there might not be any country in the world that produces as much output per worker as the US, thanks to the world-class productivity of the American workforce.

New York’s Medical Aid in Dying Act was reintroduced last month.

Donald Trump made hay out of the situation with a tweet questioning how real global warming can be given the harsh cold she was standing in.

“Well, it happened again. Amy Klobuchar announced that she is running for President, talking proudly of fighting global warming while standing in a virtual blizzard of snow, ice and freezing temperatures. Bad timing. By the end of her speech she looked like a Snowman(woman)!” Trump tweeted Sunday.

The “Avengers: Endgame” star took to the social media platform to slam Trump and his lack of understanding of how climate change works before directly skewering the president’s supporters.

“Either you STILL don’t understand that weather is not climate despite literally everyone explaining it to you every time you tweet this ignorance, or you just don’t care, and you’re deliberately misleading your base,” Evans wrote. “Which is it?”

Evans is known to use his high profile to trash the president and those who support him, especially when he disagrees.

Kristi Shmyr (Above, Human) consumed a diet of only potatoes because she believed bears found them unappetizing. The theory worked, but the bear she encountered still killed her by swatting her head off of her neck and into the Canadian mountains.

FAIRVIEW, AB — An Edmonton woman who wanted to test her theory that bears don’t want to eat people if they taste like potatoes went into the Alberta wilderness on Tuesday and never returned. Kristi Shmyr, a social justice activist and nature lover, had eaten only potatoes for seven years and was convinced that her entire essence had become 100% potatoey

But Rangers found the woman’s head about thirteen kilometers from the area where she had gone into the forest to test her theory. Experts say it looked as if it had been swatted off like a tennis ball and traveled a great distance.

The Forest Service later found the rest of Kristi’s body unscathed, not far from the trail head where she entered the forest.

Bear expert and ranger, Morris VonSpinkler told the press that the evidence showed that Shmyr had gone into the forest to prove her theory that she could walk up to a bear and not be eaten if the bear perceived her to be a walking, bipedal potato. “It was a sound theory. Bears hate potatoes,” VonSpinkler said. “But nobody had ever considered what a bear might do to a sentient, moving potato with a soul. We now have our answer.”

Forensics teams said that the amount of force the bear used to swat the head off of the woman’s neck was godlike. “Imagine if Thor layed played tee-ball with his hammer,” VonSpinkler said.

“This was definitely a crime of passion,” the chief examiner told the press.

Kristi Shmyr’s Facebook profile was left with a final post that read, “If what I am about to do works, humanity may never again experience the horror of having one of their own devoured by bears. Wish me luck.” The post had a photograph of Shmyr’s hand holding a potato against a radiant sunset with the sun beaming out from behind it.

“I’m so proud of her,” said Shmyr’s partner, Deja. “She set out to prove something and she proved it. Nobody else ever again has to die by being eaten by bears. All they have to do is eat potatoes for seven straight years. That knowledge is out there now because of Kristi. She’s a hero.

Kristi Shmyr was born 18 July, 1978 and was forty years old at the time of her death. She is survived by her dog Lua, her partner Deja, and her We, Corey.

A memorial service will be held at Gin N’ Taters Potato Farm in Fairview on Sunday. Shmyr will be buried under a pile of potatoes, as was her dying wish.

In case you missing it over the weekend, freshman Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar made a series of anti-Semitic remarks on twitter. This of course was a continuation of her anti-Semitic habit. 

CONGRESS SAID:

Lawmakers and diplomats on both sides of the political aisle immediately condemned her comments and today, Democrat House Leadership issued an official response (bolding is mine).

“Anti-Semitism must be called out, confronted and condemned whenever it is encountered, without exception.

“We are and will always be strong supporters of Israel in Congress because we understand that our support is based on shared values and strategic interests. Legitimate criticism of Israel’s policies is protected by the values of free speech and democratic debate that the United States and Israel share," Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, Majority Whip James E. Clyburn, Assistant Speaker Ben Ray Luján, Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries and Caucus Vice Chair Katherine Clark released in a joint statement Monday. "But Congresswoman Omar’s use of anti-Semitic tropes and prejudicial accusations about Israel’s supporters is deeply offensive. We condemn these remarks and we call upon Congresswoman Omar to immediately apologize for these hurtful comments."

“As Democrats and as Americans, the entire Congress must be fully engaged in denouncing and rejecting all forms of hatred, racism, prejudice and discrimination wherever they are encountered,” they continued.

Robert Mueller has spent two years investigating Trump and he hasn't said a word. It's possible he never will.

WASHINGTON – Occasionally, his signature appears on court documents. But on the most consequential days of the nearly two-year investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, the man leading it – Robert Mueller – has been conspicuously absent.

When President Donald Trump's senior aides and confidants paraded through federal courtrooms to face criminal charges his office had filed, the former FBI director was nowhere to be seen. When some of them came back to court to be convicted, he said nothing.

It's possible he never will.

Mueller's investigation has cast a shadow over nearly all of the first two years of Trump's presidency. Prosecutors working to determine whether Trump's campaign coordinated with Russian efforts to sway the election that put him in office have brought charges against some of his top aides and revealed extensive Moscow ties. But as the inquiry grinds closer to its conclusion, there are signs that the public might never learn the full extent of what Mueller has – or hasn't – found.

Justice Department rules require that Mueller submit a confidential report when his work is done. William Barr, the man likely to be confirmed as his next boss, has cast doubt on whether he would permit that document to be revealed. And those who know him say Mueller, reluctant to speak publicly even when the circumstances seem to require it, is unlikely to do it on his own.

"A public narrative has built an expectation that the special counsel will explain his conclusions, but I think that expectation may be seriously misplaced," said John Pistole, who served as Mueller's longtime top deputy at the FBI. "That's not what the rules provide, and I really don't see him straying from the mission. That's not who he is."

The Justice Department's special counsel rules don't call for Mueller to make any public statements about his work, let alone deliver a report of what he has found. Instead, his confidential report must explain why he filed the charges he did, and why he might have declined to bring charges against others. It would be up to the attorney general to decide whether that becomes public.

Wall Construction Begins   

Border wall construction has started with funding from the previous fiscal year. Fox News reports:

MISSION, Texas — Heavy machinery has started to roll in near the National Butterfly Center, which straddles the Mexican border. Customs and Border Protection has positioned vehicles here. And construction workers and architects have started plotting out their work for the next few months, and possibly years.

As the nation’s capital grapples over how to fund the controversial border wall, construction of a new one in the Rio Grande Valley is set to begin in the next few days.

Bentsen, a top national destination for bird watching, is located down the road from the bird center and will see one of two Rio Grande Valley border wall projects run through its property. Both plans were funded by last year’s congressional appropriations. Congress green-lighted more than $600 million for 33 miles of wall in the area.

Environmentalists are not happy.

This will show the American people the importance of strategic barriers to stop illegal migration and drugs.

Martin Luther King Jr. Was Denied Concealed Carry Permit for Self-Defense

Martin Luther King Jr., application for a concealed carry permit in Alabama in 1956 was denied in light of the state’s “May Issue” apparatus.

“May Issue” states, of which few remain, ultimately place the power of permit issuance in the local sheriff or police department. In the 1950s the Democrats held power in all aspects of Southern government and MLK’s request was rejected.

Most people think King would be the last person to own a gun. Yet in the mid-1950s, as the civil rights movement heated up, King kept firearms for self-protection. In fact, he even applied for a permit to carry a concealed weapon. A recipient of constant death threats, King had armed supporters take turns guarding his home and family. He had good reason to fear that the Klan in Alabama was targeting him for assassination.

On January 8, 2017, Breitbart News reported that Democrats were the authors of Jim Crow and of policies which which kept southern segregation alive. These things, along with gun control, were part of the Democrats’ plan for communities of color.

Syndicated radio host Stacy Washington, who happens to be black, observed, “Martin Luther King Jr., was denied a concealed carry permit. His life was threatened a lot and he really wanted to protect himself with a concealed permit but he could not because he could not get one. This is hold-over racism from the Democrats and their Jim Crow era controls and all that.”

Washington went on to stress that armed people are harder to lynch. She opined on life in the 21st century and said, “For those who don’t believe that the gun is the equalizer, I can tell you now that someone would have a lot of trouble trying to lynch someone in our neighborhood.”

At the Feb. 5 State of the Union Address President Donald Trump once again appealed to both chambers of Congress to adopt the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) reciprocal trade deal that will replace the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). 

“Our new U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement — or USMCA — will replace NAFTA and deliver for American workers: bringing back our manufacturing jobs, expanding American agriculture, protecting intellectual property, and ensuring that more cars are proudly stamped with four beautiful words: made in the USA,” Trump said at the speech. 

The agreement itself appears to improve on NAFTA from the perspective of U.S. producers and American workers, as the U.S. achieved significant concessions on country of origin requirements, labor, agriculture, currency, intellectual property, financial services and textiles (see below). 

But the biggest incentive of all to pass it may be that President Trump has threatened to leave NAFTA altogether if Congress does not pass the USMCA replacement. Under fast track rules, a vote on the new trade agreement is mandatory. 

On Dec. 1, 2018, Trump told reporters, “I’ll be terminating it within a relatively short period of time. We get rid of NAFTA. It’s been a disaster for the United States… And so Congress will have a choice of the USMCA or pre-NAFTA, which worked very well.”

In reference to the previous post….One of the questions those who would ban "assault rifles" always ask is "why does anyone need an assault rifle ? you can't hunt with it, it's only purpose is to kill PEOPLE".

BUT... it seems now there ARE some states that now allow using semi-auto rifles and shotguns for hunting, so that question above has become a "moot point". Try something else, anti-gunners !!!

I think that if the democrats push for gun control , we may have a big problem. What I have read and heard is the making "ASSAULT" weapons illegal, but that term would include ALL semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and pistols, and how I understand it, would even include .22 caliber guns. This would be a HUGE mistake because it would make millions of people..."INSTANT CRIMINALS". Do they really think U.S. citizens are that STUPID ?? I know, for myself, there are a few (actuall all) I own, that won't be given up...!!

Armed with new power, Democrats push for stricter gun laws

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Democratic lawmakers are pushing stricter gun laws in statehouses across the country, emboldened by sweeping electoral victories in 2018 and confident that public opinion is on their side a year after the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

Last year's wins handed Democrats control of the governorship and legislature in several more states, including New Mexico, New York, Colorado, Maine and Nevada, and lawmakers are using their new power to draft or pass gun laws.

In Colorado, Tom Sullivan spent years urging lawmakers to tackle gun violence after his 27-year-old son, Alex, was killed in the 2012 movie theater shooting there.

Now Sullivan is helping write those bills after winning a state Assembly seat, part of a Democratic wave in November that gave the party full control of Colorado's government for the first time in five years.

"People are standing up and having their voices heard," said Sullivan, who wears his son's leather jacket to the capitol. "Now they have to see me every single day."

Polls show Americans favor tougher gun laws after decades of mass shootings, including the Feb. 14, 2018, massacre at Florida's Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that killed 17 students and staff members. But the political might of the National Rifle Association – and its deep coffers – made supporting gun restrictions a risky proposition for many officials.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren formally announced her candidacy for the White House on Saturday, and hours later President Donald Trump weighed in on his newest campaign opponent, appearing to make a joke with reference to the Trail of Tears.

Soon after the Massachusetts senator's campaign announcement, Trump tweeted:

“Today Elizabeth Warren, sometimes referred to by me as Pocahontas, joined the race for President,” he wrote on Twitter. “Will she run as our first Native American presidential candidate, or has she decided that after 32 years, this is not playing so well anymore? See you on the campaign TRAIL, Liz!”

The president's use of the word trail in all caps is a potential reference to the Trail of Tears, the forced relocation of Native Americans from their homelands in the Southern United States to reservations in Oklahoma in the 1800s.

Thousands of Native Americans died during the event.

Andrew Jackson was the president who signed the Indian Removal Act into law in 1830. Trump picked a portrait of Jackson for Oval Office in 2017.

This isn't the first time Trump mocked Warren about her claims of Native American ancestry in a tweet.

In January, after Warren posted a video on Instagram saying that she was forming an exploratory committee for a presidential run, Trump tweeted:

"If Elizabeth Warren, often referred to by me as Pocahontas, did this commercial from Bighorn or Wounded Knee instead of her kitchen, with her husband dressed in full Indian garb, it would have been a smash!"

Warren apologized on Wednesday for "not having been more sensitive about tribal citizenship" after The Washington Post published a 1986 Texas bar registration card where she listed her race as "American Indian."

It was at least the third time in a week that Warren has apologized for her past self-identification.
