Donald Trump Has Grounds To Sue Letitia James: Fox News Guest April 1, 2024 Martin Walsh

A Fox News contributor claims that Donald Trump has the right to sue New York Attorney General Letitia James for allegedly violating the former president’s civil rights.

Political analyst and frequent guest on the conservative news channel Deroy Murdock made the statement following the decision of a New York appeals court to postpone the payment of Trump’s $454 million civil fraud penalty resulting from James’ lawsuit. Instead, the former president was instructed to pay a $175 million bond within ten days while he filed an appeal with the court.

Judge Arthur Engoron declared in February that Trump had been filing false financial reports for years, inflating the value of his properties and other assets to get favorable terms from lenders. James’ office was unable to begin the process of seizing Trump’s properties due to the Monday financial guarantee payment delay.

Murdock restated his recommendations from an American Spectator article that Trump should sue James for remarks she made in 2018 when she was a candidate for New York state attorney general, Newsweek noted.

He said that James declared that she was going to oppose the Trump administration because it was “too male, too pale, and too stale.”

“Now, you could talk about stale ideas, that’s fine, but too male and too pale, that constitutes, basically, sex and race discrimination. So I think what President Trump ought to do is sue her on the basis of the 1964 Civil Rights Act,” Murdock told Fox News on Tuesday.

“Her office gets federal money for various subsidies for law enforcement activity. So federal money is flowing into her office and if she is engaged in that kind of sexual and racial discrimination and that kind of language, I think she’s wide open to exposure on the 1964 Civil Rights Act,” Murdock said.

“Donald J. Trump should sue Letitia James on the basis of Civil Rights,” Murdock added.

Trump has also accused James of conducting a “racist” and politically motivated investigation into him.

Writing in The American Spectator, Murdock suggested the former president should sue James as “what the hell does Trump have to lose?”

“He immediately should file a federal complaint and demand justice under America’s keystone civil-rights law. To see a white male multi-billionaire sue a [Black] female attorney general to secure his civil rights would be the ultimate man-bites-dog story,” Murdock wrote.

“For this extraordinary spectacle, America owes a hearty thank you to New York state’s leading despot, Attorney General Letitia James.”

Alina Habba, a lawyer representing Trump, is celebrating a recent win after an appellate court reduced his bond in a civil fraud case.

During an interview with Jesse Watters on Fox News last month, Habba expressed her satisfaction with the bond’s reduction from $454 million to $175 million, also taking the opportunity to criticize New York Attorney General Letitia James.

“I hope she took a little piece of humble pie today because that’s what was served to her, just a little, but we’ll be serving a lot more of that in the next couple of years,” she said about the AG.

When Watters asked if James and Judge Engoron felt a little bit “ashamed” and “embarrassed,” Habba jokingly suggested that they would require them to have a “moral compass” and a “conscious.”

AG James released a statement on the ruling, saying that the lowered bond does not undo the ruling that Trump is liable for fraud.

“Donald Trump is still facing accountability for his staggering fraud,” the statement read. “The court has already found that he engaged in years of fraud to falsely inflate his net worth and unjustly enrich himself, his family, and his organization. The $464 million judgment—plus interest—against Donald Trump and the other defendants still stands.”

“The ruling by a five-judge panel of appellate court judges was a crucial and unexpected victory for the former president, potentially staving off a looming financial disaster. Had the court denied his request — and had he failed to obtain the full bond — Mr. Trump risked of losing control over his bank accounts and, eventually, even some of his marquee properties,” the New York Times reported.

The outlet added, “Mr. Trump has 10 days to secure the bond, and two people with knowledge of his finances said he should be able to do so by then.”

Republicans say FOID should be void if illegal immigrants can possess guns

(The Center Square) – Illinois House Republicans are both condemning and praising a recent federal judge ruling about illegal immigrants being able to carry firearms for protection.

Earlier this month, Northern District of Illinois federal Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman ruled in favor of Heriberto Carbajal-Flores, a foreign national in the u.S. illegally who was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. She said the law violates the Second Amendment as applied in this one case.

“The Court finds that Carbajal-Flores’ criminal record, containing no improper use of a weapon, as well as the non-violent circumstances of his arrest do not support a finding that he poses a risk to public safety such that he cannot be trusted to use a weapon responsibly and should be deprived of his Second Amendment right to bear arms in self-defense,” the judge wrote. “Thus, this Court finds that, as applied to Carbajal-Flores, Section 922(g)(5) is unconstitutional.”

State Rep. Dan Caulkins, R-Decatur, questioned where local law enforcement, the Illinois Attorney General or gun control advocates were on this case. But Friday on the House Floor, he praised the decision, saying that standard means Illinois’ Firearm Owners ID card should be struck down.

“Why shouldn’t gun owners across the state cut up our FOID cards and be able to buy guns out of state with no worry,” Caulkins said. “If a person who is not legally in this state can have his constitutional rights, so can the rest of us.”

Illinois State Police confirm that in order to get a FOID card, one has to attest that they are "not an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States."

State Rep. John Cabello agreed if the FOID card could be found null under such a ruling, that’s a good thing.

“But with this radical judge, we’ve got to make sure that we protect our citizens,” Cabello told The Center Square.

Cabello filed House Bill 5790 Friday that he said clarifies that illegal immigrants cannot become law enforcement and detain legal citizens.

Last year, legislators approved and the governor signed House Bill 3751. The law says someone “who is legally authorized under federal law to work in the United States and is authorized under federal law to obtain, carry, or purchase or otherwise possess a firearm, or who is an individual against whom immigration action has been deferred by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services under the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) process and is authorized under federal law to obtain, carry, or purchase or otherwise possess a firearm.

Cabello supported the measure then. But Friday, he said his HB5790 clarifies things.

“We got a little nervous about what [the judge] might do next, so we filed a bill to make sure that cannot happen,” Cabello told The Center Square. “We cannot in any way shape or form have a non-citizen of the United States arrest citizens of the United States.”

Hundreds of foreigners trying to illegally cross at the Southern border in El Paso, Texas, charged and broke through a wall of razor wiring, crossing the international border in hopes of obtaining asylum in the United States.

On Thursday, around 600 migrants broke through the razor wire wall protecting entry into the U.S.

Initially, the large group of migrants were being pushed back by members of the Texas National Guard.

However, soon after, a handful of them pushed through Border Patrol agents and National Guard officials, knocking them out of the way.

The night before the chaotic break through, “hundreds of migrants were pushed south of the concertina wire in the middle of the night by Texas National Guard,” a border agent explained.

The Lone Star State deployed National Guard troops to the border at the request of Governor Greg Abbott (R-Texas).

The order was part of the Abbott’s Operation Lone Star.

On Wednesday, just a few hours after the Supreme Court allowed a Texas law to take effect that gave authorities the right to arrest individuals who they suspect had entered the country illegally, a federal appeals court issued an order that now puts the law, SB4, on hold. (the democrats again)

WASHINGTON, DC: According to a recent report, immigration judges rejected deportation proceedings against about 200,000 migrants because the Department of Homeland Security under President Biden neglected to submit the necessary documents before their court appearances.

Notably, Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) at Syracuse University issued a report on Wednesday, March 20, that stated that courts were left without authority to judge on asylum claims and manage deportation cases because the DHS failed to appear in thousands of notices before scheduled hearing dates.

Migrant deportation of 200K cases tossed due to lack of paperwork

The TRAC report stated, "These large numbers of dismissals and what then happens raise serious concerns."

The 'almost total lack of transparency on where and why these DHS failures occurred' was deemed 'troubling' by the unbiased research team.

The report further stated, "Equally troubling is the lack of solid information on what happened to these many immigrants when DHS never rectified its failure by reissuing and filing new NTAs to restart their Court cases."

Notably, when migrants are caught entering the US illegally, they are given notices to appear, or NTAs. When a migrant requests asylum, they are given a hearing date, sometimes years in advance, and are given the chance to argue before an immigration court why they shouldn't be deported.

Biden's deterioration should be off stage
Videos of Joe Biden not knowing where he is or saying he just met with a French president who died 25 years ago are not so funny anymore.

They're tragic. And I can't help feeling embarrassed and sorry for the president.

It angers me to see him dodder out in public almost every other day and make a mumbling and confused fool of himself.

Biden's clearly been in the early stages of dementia for several years.

It's getting worse by the week and there's no pill or treatment he can take that will ever make him better.

In the 1990s I watched my father's mental decline for years, but I never had to feel embarrassed for him because it happened entirely in private.

After my father told the country in a letter in 1994 that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease, Nancy brought him home where he was surrounded for the rest of his life by family and friends — and no media.

She was wise enough to know when to take my father off the world stage. She didn't put him into a rest home where people might see him or take his photo.

She wanted to protect his memory. She wanted him to be remembered the way he was when he was a vital and witty world leader, not the way he was when he was sliding into mental and physical decline.

Biden's wife Jill, the rest of the Biden family and the Democrat Party people who supposedly love and care for him ought to be ashamed of themselves.

They are allowing the whole world — including the leaders of countries that do not like us — to watch the daily deterioration of our president.

Joe Biden is already on the road to Alzheimer's. Nearly 7 million Americans already have it. It's a terrible disease that has no cure.

But his wife Jill, his Democrat Party handlers and the major media who ignore or downplay it have only one thing on their mind — defeating Trump and the MAGA Republicans in the fall.

They all know Vice President Kamala Harris is a joke and even if California Gov. Gavin Newsom replaces her on the 2024 ticket, Joe Biden is the party's only hope to hang on to its power.

But the whole world knows there is no way he will make it through another four years if he's re-elected.

He faked his way through the 2020 election by hiding in his basement, but Democrats know he'll never be able to pull off that trick again, even if the help of liberal media again.

So to protect Biden from betraying how much he has declined, Democrats have made sure there are no primaries or debates he has to participate in.

They aren't even going to let him give the traditional three-minute Super Bowl interview this weekend because they're so afraid someone in the media might ask him a question about Hamas.

They just hope they can keep shoving an old man with a broken memory on stage to read words that no longer make much sense to him — and then whisking him off before he gives an embarrassing answer to any question he's asked.

You'd think Joe's wife would want him to be remembered as he was when he was a senator or the vice president. But it's too late for that.

People are going to remember him as he is now — an elderly man with a poor memory and confused mind.

My father was honest enough to write us a letter and tell us he had Alzheimer's. He knew when it was time to get off the stage.

Nancy protected my father to the end so people would remember him the way we do now, the way he was — as a great president and as a human being.

God bless Nancy. Too bad Jill didn't take a lesson from her.

Inside host and former Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki: “[Trump] can’t run against the other and brown people and people who don’t look like him, like his supporters — his base of supporters coming across the — the border and scaring people and killing people or whatever he’s threatening out there. If you look at some of these exit polls — I mean, I live in Virginia. Immigration was the number one issue.”

ReidOut host Joy Reid: “Yes.”

Psaki: “Again, these could change in — in Virginia.”

Rachel Maddow: “Well, Virginia does have a border with West Virginia. Very contested area.”

Reid: “Build the wall!”

Psaki: “But you’re thinking like — what? When I was in New Hampshire, people were talking about the northern border as a threat because Trump has indoctrinated people with this fear of people who do not like — look like them — being a threat to them.”

Amazing.

This comes after Renzo Montez, 32, was arrested by the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office for sex crimes with a 14-year-old girl. According to investigators, Montes was living in Campbell County, but he is a Venezuelan man, who illegally crossed into the United States.

“It is an unmitigated humanitarian disaster that is now impacting Virginians and breaks my heart,” said Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares.

Authorities said Montes was caught by border patrol in El Paso, Texas in September, but they released him.

“I think it shows every state now is becoming a border state. It is so infuriating because you realize that person should’ve never been in the country,” Miyares said.

In non-border states all over the country, illegals are being arrested after committing murder, rape, or other violent crimes.

And what does the MSNBC crew do? Why, play the race card of course. In Psaki’s words, this is all really about race and “those [in America] who do not like — look like them — being a threat to them.”

It’s worth recalling here that MSNBC’s fixation on race is not an unrelated one-off. Long before MSNBC was around, the American Left’s Democrat Party was founded by slave owners as the Party of Race. As readers in this space know, I have periodically written chapter and verse on the party’s two-century-plus obsession with race.

Among other things, there were the six Democratic Party platforms supporting slavery. The 20 that stood tall and proud for segregation. There was the opposition to the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments to the Constitution. As I have written earlier, “The 13th banned slavery. The 14th effectively overturned the infamous 1857 Dred Scott decision (made by Democratic pro-slavery Supreme Court justices) by guaranteeing due process and equal protection to former slaves. The 15th gave black Americans the right to vote.”

And on and on this business of judging their fellow Americans by skin color has gone. In today’s world, it’s all about identity politics — identity politics being the son of segregation and grandson of slavery.

Now this racism is being used by MSNBC to justify illegal immigration and excuse the murder or rape of innocent Americans like Laken Riley.

A few days ago, Georgia Republican Rep. Mike Collins introduced the “Laken Riley Act,” which is but the latest attempt to correct the disgraceful — not to mention dangerous — record of the Biden administration on dealing with illegal immigration.

Without question, the American people realize they have a problem on their hands. And that problem has nothing to do with race — and everything to do with allowing the mass invasion of the U.S. southern border by completely unvetted illegals, a fair number of whom have a violent record and have zero business being in this country.

America is the one country on the planet where 100 percent of the population is descended from immigrants — legal immigrants of all races and religions.

No American of any seriousness is “anti-immigrant.” But Americans are most certainly 100 percent in favor of vetting incomers and making sure they are safe and not someone with a violent background bent on committing murder, rape, and violence of any kind.

Opinion: Don’t buy into the border bill, no matter how hard Biden tries to sell it

President Joe Biden is supporting the Senate Border Act of 2024 (Border Act), which he says would “be the toughest and fairest set of reforms to secure the border we’ve ever had in our country.” 

“It would give me, as President, a new emergency authority to shut down the border when it becomes overwhelmed,” he said. “And if given that authority, I would use it the day I sign the bill into law.”

Biden invited former President Donald Trump to join him in lobbying Congress to pass the Border Act, saying, “You know and I know it’s the toughest, most efficient, most effective border security bill this country’s ever seen. So instead of playing politics with the issue, why don’t we just get together and get it done?”

I disagree. The Border Act would have little, if any, impact on the factors that attract illegal immigration to the United States: it’s too easy for migrants without a visa to get into the United States, and they are reasonably safe from deportation once they have reached the interior of the country.

The main reason I can think of for Biden to support that bill is to reduce the negative impact that the border crisis will have on him in the upcoming elections. It makes it possible for him to say that he tried to secure the border with a tough bill — and the Republicans prevented it from passing.
