Police Officer Shoots Student After Being Asked “You’re Gonna Shoot Me?”

 Robert Cameron Redus’ last words were heard by a neighbor, before a police officer shot and killed him early Friday morning. Redus, was a senior at the University of the Incarnate Word, and apparently after an altercation with the officer sarcastically asked him if he was going to shot him. Then the officer did.At the time of the incident, Mohammad Haidarasl was sitting on his couch, in his apartment at around 2 a.m. in Alamo Heights. His apartment is on the first floor.
“I heard [a male voice] say, ‘Oh, you’re gonna shoot me?’ like sarcastic almost,” Haidarasl reported. Then Haidarasl says, he heard multiple gunshots a few moments later.
Haidarasl says that he did not look out at the scene of the crime until he could already hear emergency vehicles approaching the street of Treehouse Apartments. The deceased, Robert Cameron Redus was a resident at the apartment complex and lived upstairs, something Haidarasl did not realize until later. When asked to comment, Haidarasl said that Redus was a really nice guy.
Many of Redus’ friends and family are shocked by the incident and say that it does not add up.   STORY

CNS News: On Wednesday, the  Rutherford Institute announced it has come to the defense of a 10-year-old boy who was suspended under a school zero tolerance policy for shooting an imaginary “arrow” at a fellow classmate, using nothing more than his hands and his imagination.
Additionally, Rutherford Institute says the student has been threatened with expulsion for his make-believe actions, which were a response to another student “shooting” an imaginary gun at him:

 

“Johnny Jones, a fifth grader at South Eastern Middle School, was suspended for a day and threatened with expulsion under the school’s weapons policy after playfully using his hands to draw the bowstrings on a pretend ‘bow’ and ‘shoot’ an arrow at a classmate who had held his folder like an imaginary gun and ‘shot’ at Johnny. In coming to Jones’ defense, Rutherford Institute attorneys have asked Rona Kaufmann, Superintendent of the South Eastern School District in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania, to rescind the suspension and remove all references to the incident from Jones’ permanent school record.”“We all want to keep the schools safe, but I’d far prefer to see something credible done about actual threats, rather than this ongoing, senseless targeting of imaginary horseplay,” said Rutherford Institute President John W. Whitehead.The Rutherford Institute has given Superintendent Kaufmann until Dec. 13, 2013 to respond to its letter, after which the Institute will advise Jones’ parents on how to proceed

The Walt Disney Company did a number of  training and propaganda films during World War II for Allied forces, including this training film for the Canadian Army on the use of the Boys Anti-Tank Rifle. The Canadians requested the film because Canadian soldiers thought the Boys was a ineffectual, heavy, harsh-recoiling piece of junk… and they were right.
There are few, if any, documented instances of a Boys ever knocking out a German tank, though the Finns are reputed to have had some luck with the rifle against obsolete Russian light tanks in the 1939-40 Winter War.

 

The Boys was replaced by a spring-fired spigot mortar system called the PIAT (Projector, Infantry, Anti-Tank) beginning in 1943, which was in turn replaced by U.S. bazookas in the Korean War era.

The punishment for killing a golden or bald eagle in the United States comes at a hefty price. Simply having eagle feathers or parts in your possession will land you in prison with a heavy fine to pay. Felony killing of eagles comes with a fine of $250,000 and prison time. These penalties fall under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.

This law, originally passed in 1940, provides for the protection of the bald eagle and the golden eagle (as amended in 1962) by prohibiting the take, possession, sale, purchase, barter, offer to sell, purchase or barter, transport, export or import, of any bald or golden eagle, alive or dead, including any part, nest, or egg, unless allowed by permit Bald Eagle sitting in tree (16 U.S.C. 668(a); 50 CFR 22).

"Take" includes pursue, shoot, shoot at, poison, wound, kill, capture, trap, collect, molest or disturb

Michael Cannon, Cato Institute’s Director of Health Policy Studies, testified before a congressional committee about the possible ramifications of Barack Obama "Ignoring laws," saying that Obama's disregard for implementing the Affordable Care Act as written, could result in some grave consequences.

"There is one last thing to which the people can resort if the government does not respect the restrains that the constitution places on the government," Cannon said. "Abraham Lincoln talked about our right to alter our government or our revolutionary right to overthrow it."

While the word was not used, I believe what he is implying is the possibility of a revolution over Obama's lawless behavior.

Ghost hunters in Pa. are mistaken for burglar

  GETTYSBURG, Pa. (AP) — Police in Pennsylvania are investigating a complaint concerning a ghost hunt that went bust after a police officer mistakenly thought it was a burglary in progress.

  The Gettysburg Times reported Tuesday that the Thanksgiving night ghost tour ended with two tourists and their guide being detained at gunpoint.

  A patrolman passing a closed store in Gettysburg says he saw flashlights inside, so he went in and handcuffed and searched the three ghost hunters.
 
  Police called the owner, who confirmed the tour operator had permission to use the allegedly haunted Civil War-era building. The first Union general killed in the Battle of Gettysburg was brought to the building after being fatally wounded.
 
  The owner of the Victorian-style photography studio that occupies the building and permitted the tour has declined to comment.

Health officials confirmed four cases tied to E. coli bacteria and 13 likely cases in people who ate the sandwiches at several gatherings late last year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said a report issued this week. The meat came from a Watertown market that later recalled more than 2,500 pounds of meat.
Cannibal sandwiches were tied to outbreaks in Wisconsin in 1972, 1978 and 1994. The appetizer, also called "tiger meat," ''steak tartare" or simply "ground beef," is usually a simple dish of lean ground meat seasoned with salt and pepper on rye cocktail bread with sliced raw onion, said Milwaukee historian John Gurda, who served it at his 1977 wedding reception. At first I thought the IRS scandal was leaked to distract from the Benghazi scandal. But that didn't make sense because the IRS scandal is a more obvious abuse of power than the White House lying about the murder of four Americans in Libya.
Before I had resolved which scandal was distracting from which, we found out the Department of Justice was spying on The Associated Press -- not to protect national security, but to prevent the AP from scooping the White House. Then, this week, it broke that the Department of Justice was also spying on Fox News for reasons that remain unexplained.
Meanwhile, Sens. Marco Rubio, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham and John McCain are working feverishly to turn the country into Mexico.
So now I think all the scandals are intended to distract from Rubio's amnesty bill.

That's why corny stories of someone's ancestors coming here a half-century ago are completely irrelevant. If their ancestors hadn't succeeded, their great-grandchildren wouldn't be here to tell the story because no one was given food stamps, free medical care and housing to stay. (And vote Democrat.)

Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, one of Obamacare's architects and staunchest supporters, is also the only top congressional leader to exempt some of his staff from having to buy insurance through the law's new exchanges.

As longtime readers may recall, back in June 2011, we first wrote about Waad Ramadan Alwan and Mohanad Shareef Hammadi, the Iraqi Muslim terrorists who were granted entry into the United States and then granted citizenship, despite the fact that the United States had already caught them, years earlier, and they admitted at that time that they were involved in terrorist attacks against Americans on behalf of Al-Qaeda. But they were not only let go, they were allowed into the United States as “refugees” who successfully sought asylum in America. The U.S. government had even taken their fingerprints, at least one of which matched a fingerprint on an IED–the IED they used to murder Jerry Pellegrini, but this information was never checked until later on when Alwan and Hammadi, living in Bowling Green, Kentucky (one of them in public housing), attempted to help Al-Qaeda murder more Americans. The FBI was involved in the investigation and the two were indicted.

The Pellegrini Family was never invited to attend the trial or speak as victims about the impact their dear brother/son’s murder has had on them. Have you read the headlines? When George Zimmerman was arrested last week he had 5 guns and 100 rounds of ammunition. OMG! He had an arsenal and could have gone on a killing spree. At least that’s what the mainstream media wants you to think. They portray Zimmerman, and by extension any gun owner, as bad guy for owning what they consider to be an excessive amount of firearms.
The thing is, people that don’t own or just hate guns have a hard time understanding what a normal collection is. They don’t think anyone should have even one, so to them a multiple firearm stash is indicative of a potential spree killer.
And, of course, the media loves to play up this irrational fear for fun and profit. Jonathan Capehart of the Washington Post turned in one of the most slanted articles concerning the arrest titled, “George Zimmerman: A Man And His Guns.” Leaving no doubt as to where he stands, he prefaced the piece with, “We all know George Zimmerman, the killer of Trayvon Martin, loves guns.”        READ MORE
