(DAILYMAIL) — The speech by former US Vice-President Al Gore was apocalyptic. ‘The North Polar ice cap is falling off a cliff,’ he said. ‘It could be completely gone in summer in as little as seven years. Seven years from now.’
Those comments came in 2007 as Mr Gore accepted the Nobel Peace Prize for his campaigning on climate change.
But seven years after his warning, The Mail on Sunday can reveal that, far from vanishing, the Arctic ice cap has expanded for the second year in succession – with a surge, depending on how you measure it, of between 43 and 63 per cent since 2012.

Britain Raises Terror Threat Level to ‘Severe’                           Aug 29, 2014, By LEE FERRAN

 

 

The British government today raised the threat level for international terrorism to “severe,” indicating a terrorist attack is “highly likely” but, based on intelligence, not necessarily “imminent.”

U.K. Home Secretary Theresa May released a statement Friday saying the increased threat is “related to events in Syria and Iraq where terrorist groups are planning attacks against the West, and that some of those attacks are likely to involve fighters who have travelled from the U.K.”

British Prime Minister David Cameron said it was the first time in three years the threat has been raised to such a level in the U.K.

“What we’re facing in Iraq now with ISIL is a greater and deeper threat to our security than we have known before,” Cameron said in an address to the nation, noting that the terrorist group, also known as ISIS for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, has recruited hundreds of British citizens to its ranks.

1K-Pound Alligator Caught in Alabama Sets World Record

CAMDEN, Ala. — Aug 29, 2014,

A gigantic alligator caught by a family in Alabama earlier this month has set a Safari Club International world record.

AL.com reports a pair of master measurers from Safari Club International examined the 1,000-pound alligator on Friday, determining a total length of 15-feet, 9-inches.

That's 13 inches longer than the organization's previous world record American alligator, which had been killed in Texas.

The Alabama alligator was caught by the Stokes family after battling with it for more than five hours. It was hooked in a creek about 80 miles west of Montgomery.

The Rio Grande Valley in Texas is the breach point for the largest invasion of American territory since the British occupied and burned Washington, DC during the War of 1812.

They tell stories about the “Coyotes” – evil people smuggling human beings across the border for profit – who ply their trade with impunity, and local sheriffs explain that the drug cartels are now running the show on both sides of the border.
Few Americans have the opportunity to see what I saw along our border but it’s critically important for people to see the disastrous effects of the Obama Administration’s illegal immigration policy. The establishment media refuses to tell America the truth about illegal immigration so Tea Party Patriots made the investment of producing a soon-to-be-released documentary about the problem.
Illegal immigration is not just a problem for states that share a border with Mexico or Canada. Because of Obama’s lawless approach to illegal immigration, we ALL live in border states today.

A teacher in California's Bay Area has been reprimanded after she reportedly tweeted that she wanted to stab some students and that her "trigger finger is itchy."

The Oakland Tribune reported Newark Memorial High School administrators disciplined teacher Krista Hodges with a written reprimand, but she remains in the classroom as the new school year begins. The tweets, which were sprinkled with obscene language, were posted before the end of the last school year, in June. The tweets have since vanished from her account.

Some parents said they found the posts insulting. One tweet allegedly insinuated that Hodges wanted to dump hot coffee on some of her students.

A Bay Area teacher reportedly wrote that she wanted to stab some kids and that her trigger finger is itchy. NBC Bay Area's Damian Trujillo is live at Newark Memorial High School with the latest on the posts that have some parents furious.

“I have a student here. He was expelled when he was a freshman for saying something to a teacher. They kicked him out of school. So now this is going on with this teacher, and I don’t feel it’s acceptable," parent Angela Newell said. “I feel that she should be able to receive the same punishment he did – get expelled from the district.”

Hodges told the newspaper she has apologized, saying she was only kidding, and realizes she acted unprofessionally.

The district had no comment on the issue, but one parent told NBC Bay Area on Thursday that she plans to start a campaign to get the teacher fired.

"I know the kids love her, but I think she should be fired," parent Vanessa Chavez said. "She should not work in the school -- it's not OK, it's unacceptable."

On Twitter, fittingly, Hodges appeared Thursday to be getting some support from students, including one who wrote that the "tweets were blown up into a bigger deal than what it was. Everyone vents."

Meanwhile, the Newark Police Department is taking the incident seriously and investigating.

"I think the concern is safety of everybody -- the admin, students, teacher, faculty," Cmdr. Mike Carroll said. "Concerned about everybody's safety. It doesn't matter where the threat is coming from."

A man with the flag of Iraqi militant group ISIS waving from his car threatened to bomb police when he was pulled over on Chicago's Southwest Side on Wednesday morning, police say.

    Emad Karakrah, 49, faces felony charges of disorderly conduct and aggravated fleeing, and a misdemeanor count of driving on a never-issued license, according to Chicago police. He was also issued three traffic citations.

Someone called police after seeing a "suspicious person" driving a silver Pontiac southbound in the 7700 block of South Kedzie at 9:18 a.m. with an ISIS flag waving out the window, according to a police report.

    Officers tried to pull over the vehicle, but the driver took off, according to the report. The officers called for assistance, and another officer pulled the vehicle over after it drove through several red lights.

    The man told police during his arrest that there was a bomb in the car and he would detonate it if they searched the car, according to the report.

    A bomb squad, the FBI and Homeland Security responded to the scene and searched the vehicle, but no bomb was found, authorities said.

Judge Laura Sullivan ordered Karakrah held on a $55,000 bond Thursday. He is next scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 3.

Ferguson, St. Louis County Hit With Civil Rights Suit Over Protests

Six Missouri residents filed a federal lawsuit Thursday against city, county and police officials in Ferguson, Missouri, alleging their civil rights were violated by the aggressive police response to protests that followed the police killing of unarmed teenager Michael Brown this month.

The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in St. Louis, seeks more than $40 million from the city of Ferguson and St. Louis County, as well as their police chiefs and other named and unnamed officers, for alleged violations beginning Aug. 11, two days after Brown, 18, was shot to death. Among the plaintiffs is a woman and her minor son who were arrested Aug. 13 in the same incident at a McDonald's restaurant at which two journalists were arrested, according to the suit.

Malik Zulu Shabazz, president of Black Lawyers for Justice, one of three legal groups representing the plaintiffs, said at a news conference outside the courthouse that other protesters could join the suit later, saying, "If they won't police the people right, then we have to bankrupt them." The American Civil Liberties Union has filed separate litigation over the police response.

  Black Leaders’ List of Demands in Ferguson: Pay Up Or Face The Consequences

Some folks in Ferguson, Missouri, and elsewhere are under the impression that the United States of America can be blackmailed.

After the shooting of Michael Brown and almost two weeks of tense and violent protests, things have calmed down and black leaders, “community organizers” and politicians can get down to brass tacks: Give us things, or we’ll do it again.
Here is a list of their demands:
•    First and foremost, arrest and convict Police Officer Darren Wilson. It makes no difference what the evidence is, the circumstances are or – frankly – whether or not he is guilty. He is to be arrested, given the “perp walk” so the media can take pictures of him, tried, found guilty and summarily sentenced. Life in prison, please. That is what they will call “justice” in their America.
•    Second, give every black man a job in Ferguson. The unemployment rate, according to CBS, is almost 50 percent. Unless all these black men get jobs doing things like hanging window blinds and working on furnaces (?), there will be “no peace.”

    Expel all the white leaders in Ferguson. It doesn’t matter if they were elected or appointed, they’re racist.
•    Third, we will boycott. I was listening to Jesse Jackson’s radio show “Keep Hope Alive,” and a caller said blacks should boycott something. He suggested Bank of America, but Jesse wasn’t sure. He said he didn’t know yet who they should boycott, but you can be sure he’ll think of something.
•    And finally, Barack Obama has to stop being president of all the people. Enough of that. He’s black and he’d better start acting “black.” “Show up, Dog, and show us that you are seriously committed to the interest of “your people.”
   These are their demands. This is Obama’s “post-racial” America. Give them what they want or there will be “hell to pay.”

  Guarding Hillary Clinton was akin to the “worst form of punishment,” according to revelations made by Secret Service agents attached to the security detail for the former First Lady.
In the new book The First Family Detail, author Ronald Kessler revealed that absolutely no one wanted to be her personal security.
Admitting that Mrs. Clinton was a totally different person behind closed doors, the book illustrates how despicable she was, claiming that the suicide of Vince Foster in 1993 could largely be attributed to her hateful demeanor.

Recently, a white woman was attacked by group of black men. Why? She was carrying a confederate flag on her way to a fundraiser, and the flag was meant to be a prop to symbolize the South. The victim, only four feet eleven inches tall, says the incident was unprovoked.
“We didn’t say a word to them. First, they started kicking me and trying to knock me down,” she explained to reporters. “I mean, I can’t be racist for what one group of kids did. I mean, they’re not all like that.”
Her views are admirable given the extreme circumstance.
Perhaps one of the most shocking reactions was that of local police, who decided not to label the assault a hate crime. However we struggle to see any other explanation.

 

P.S. The confederate flag is part of history and has nothing to do with slavery

A “pawsitively” bad dog in Clinton, S.C. was apprehended last week after he was caught on security camera taking off with goods from a Dollar General.
The crime spree began when Cato the Husky broke away from his leash and headed straight for the store.
According to Fox Carolina, the surveillance cameras showed Cato walking up to the doors at approximately 9:38 a.m., however, the doors closed before he could make his way in. Finally, he was able to sneak in with customers where he proceeded to rob the store of pigs ears, beef bones, dog food, and treats.
The four-legged bandit then left the store in less than a minute, but returned about three minutes later.
"We had to lock the door to keep him from coming back in," said store manager Anastasia Polson.
Cato must have known that he needed to hide his loot because he took all the stolen goods and buried them nearby.
The police, who filled out a report just for the fun of it, might have asked Cato for a confession, but the four-legged bandit exercised his fifth amendment -- right against self-incrimination.
The 'red-pawed' dog did have to spend some time in the pokey, but Holly Darden, Cato’s mom, bailed him out and paid for the stolen goods.
This isn't the first time Cato has entered local businesses. 
"He's gotten into Ingles. He's gotten into BI-LO. He goes to Pizza Hut. And he goes up to Yo Cup which is downtown too," Darden said.
We are happy to report that Cato is now back home lounging around the house.

Jury Finds Texas Man Not Guilty in Shooting Death of Drunk Driver Who Killed Two Sons   By GINA SUNSERI Aug 27, 2014

A jury returned a verdict of not guilty today for a Texas father accused of the shooting death of a drunk driver who killed his two sons.

David Barajas was accused of fatally shooting 20-year-old Jose Banda in December 2012 after Banda plowed into a vehicle that Barajas and his two sons had been pushing on a rural road in Alvin, about 30 miles southeast of Houston.

The Barajas family broke into tears in the courtroom today while Jose Banda's family sat in stunned   disbelief.
"I am relieved but still in pain. My two boys are dead and nothing will bring them back," Barajas said in a post decision news conference.

David Jr., 12, and Caleb, 11, were killed in the accident.

A visibily angry District Attorney Jeri Yenne said prosecutors "would never present a case against a person we did not believe was guilty."

"Three sons were lost that day. The Barajas children and the Banda son," Yenne said.

If Barajas had been convicted, he faced a potential life sentence.
