Much attention and condemnation has been directed towards the tragedy of the African slave trade, which took place between the 16th and the 19th centuries. However, another equally despicable trade in humans was taking place around the same time in the Mediterranean.  It is estimated that up to 1.25 million Europeans were enslaved by the so-called Barbary corsairs, and their lives were just as pitiful as their African counterparts. They have come to be known as the white slaves of Barbary. Slavery is one of the oldest trades known to man. We can first find records of the slave trade dating back to The Code of Hammurabi in Babylon in the 18th century BCE. People from virtually every major culture, civilization, and religious background have made slaves of their own and enslaved other peoples. However, comparatively little attention has been given to the prolific slave trade that was carried out by pirates, or corsairs, along the Barbary coast (as it was called by Europeans at the time), in what is now Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya, beginning around 1600 AD.

It has been fashionable the last two weeks to pen articles attacking Donald Trump, the front-runner in the race for the Republican Party nomination for President.  “He’s not a true conservative.” “He’s not Ronald Reagan,” they said.  The jury’s still out on whether or not he’s a true conservative, but we can agree that he is not Ronald Reagan.
I would say he is more like Abraham Lincoln.  Lincoln had been elected to Congress as a member of the Whig Party, but he parted company with the Whigs and joined the Republicans, when the Whig leaders wouldn’t take a stand on the biggest issue of the day—slavery.  The country’s whole future hung on the issue of slavery.  Lincoln was against it, but the Whigs didn’t want to ruffle the feathers of pro-slavery voters.  Lincoln became President, won the Civil War, and ended that barbaric practice.  The Whig Party disappeared from the national stage and became a paragraph in history books.  You can almost hear the Whig poobahs saying about Lincoln, “He’s not a true conservative.  He flip-flopped on the tariff issue.”  Small minds, small issues.

A public school system in Maryland is being sued for promoting Islam over other religions.

The lawsuit was filed in federal court Wednesday on behalf of a former Marine and his wife who fought back at their daughter’s high school for forcing students to complete assignments that endorsed Islam.
The Thomas More Law Center filed the civil rights complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, accusing leaders at the Charles County Public Schools of violating the plaintiffs’ constitutional rights.

John Kevin Wood, who served eight years in the Marine Corps, and his wife Melissa objected when they discovered that their daughter’s World History class at La Plata High School was circulating assignments that amounted to Islamic propaganda.
Their daughter and her fellow students were instructed to write out the Islamic creed “Shahada,” which says, “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.” When recited by non-Muslims, the creed amounts to conversion to Islam.
Students were also required to memorize and recite the Five Pillars of Islam and were subjected to disparaging teachings about Christianity.
“Most Muslims’ faith is stronger than the average Christian,” one worksheet read.
The class also spent one day covering Christianity, while teachers devoted two weeks to instructing about Islam.
Upon learning of the lessons prioritizing Islam, Wood, who is Christian, contacted the school and demanded alternative assignments for his daughter. The school refused to allow his daughter to opt out of the assignments and threatened her with failing grades if they were not completed. She elected not to complete the worksheets.
The complaint filed Wednesday charges that the school discriminated against Wood’s daughter “by removing her from the academic environment of her World History class, relegating her to the student library, and issuing her failing grades on assignments because [she] refused to deny and insult her Christian beliefs.”
Following Wood’s complaints, the school principal also banned him from entering school grounds.
The lawsuit was filed against the Charles County Public Schools, the Board of Education, and the principal and vice principal of La Plata High School. It seeks a declaration from the defendants that they violated the plaintiffs’ constitutional rights, in addition to a temporary and permanent injunction barring them from promoting Islam over other religions and from banning Wood from school grounds.
In announcing the complaint, the president and chief counsel of the Thomas More Law Center warned that schools across the nation are forcing such “Islamic indoctrination.”
“Parents must be ever vigilant to the Islamic indoctrination of their children under the guise of teaching history and multiculturalism. This is happening in public schools across the country. And they must take action to stop it,” Richard Thompson, the law firm’s president, said in a statement.

In a tense discussion over national security, Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly asked Chris Christie for his thoughts on racial profiling during Thursday night’s GOP presidential debate. In the relevant exchange, Kelly pressed the New Jersey governor about whether police have the right to engage in profiling to combat terrorism, referencing the tragedy in San Bernardino. Christie refused to defend profiling, but did say citizens should by all means use “common sense” if they have suspicions.

He went to say the core problem is that President Obama and Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton have turned their backs on law enforcement.

“And here's the problem in this country right now. The problem is that Barack Obama has made law enforcement the enemy, Hillary Clinton has made law enforcement the enemy. They are not supporting our law enforcement officers, it is making everybody nervous to get out of their cars if you are a law enforcement officer. It is making people in neighborhoods nervous to go to law enforcement.”

Christie’s message is clear: If Americans are scared of the people who are supposed to protect them and anyone with a badge now feels like they have a target on their back, we have a serious problem. If we are afraid of each other, how are we to unite and defeat terror?

If passed, the new laws would encourage police not to arrest sidewalk tinklers and violators of the other laws. Instead, cops would usually give out civil summonses. Recipients would then be ordered to appear in a court managed by New York City’s Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings.

“We know that the system has been really rigged against communities of color in particular,” she commented to The New York Times. “So the question has always been, what can we do in this job to minimize unnecessary interaction with the criminal justice system, so that these young people can really fulfill their potential?”

The uprising grew so intense this past summer that Secretary of State John Kerry dispatched his top refugee official, Assistant Secretary of State Anne Richard, to Spartanburg to quell the backlash against Muslim migrants.
Republican Gov. Nikki Haley, who initially supported the resettlements in her state, changed her mind after the attack on Paris that killed 130 people in November. Those attacks were carried out by eight Islamic terrorists, including one who entered Europe as a “refugee.” Haley joined more than two dozen other governors who told the Obama administration they didn’t want any Syrian refugees.
But none of that protest has stopped Obama’s plans from going forward. The Syrians continue to arrive not only in South Carolina but nationwide, Richard said.

  A public swimming pool in Bornheim, Germany made headlines worldwide last week when it banned migrant Muslim males because they were caught sexually molesting 4 children. Sick.
 

Under pressure from liberal a-holes the ban has been lifted. Unbelievable.
Police arrested a 19 year old Afghan man on Saturday afternoon after they received complaints from four children. The girls, all aged between 11 and 13 years old were swimming at a public baths in Dresden when they were “touched immorally” by the man, reports MOPO24. Two other migrants were also suspected. Remarkably, the arrested man has since been released from police custody.
When approached by local media, the Dresden city director of sports said applying a migrant pool ban after the molestation of the children by migrants was out of the question. He said: “It is not right to put all the people under general suspicion”.
This is not the only case of young women being attacked by migrants in past days. Breitbart London reported last week on two sisters who were molested at a pool in Munich. Aged 14 and 17, the girls were groped “allegedly under their bathing suits”, “and possibly raped” by a gang of “refugees” while enjoying a water-slide at their local pool.
