Liberal Reporter Attempts to Buy "Assault Rifle" to Prove How Easy It Is, Gets Rejected   Leah Barkoukis Posted: Jun 21, 2016

In the wake of the Orlando massacre, Chicago Sun Times reporter Neil Steinberg set out to buy an “assault rifle,” presumably to prove how easy it is. But the process didn't exactly go as planned.

In his column titled "Would-be Terrorists Can Buy Guns, But a Reporter? No," he points out how a journalist in Philadelphia was able to buy an "assault rifle” in less than 10 minutes. He also noted the percentage of gun transactions in America that don’t go through a background check, and so on.  But not at the gun shop he visited. After filling out the required paperwork asking if he was an illegal alien, a fugitive, or whether he had been convicted on charges of domestic abuse, the reporter handed over $842.50 for a Smith & Wesson M & P 15 Sport II. He'd just made his first gun purchase. Since Illinois has a 24-hour waiting period after buying a firearm and taking possession of it, however, Steinberg had to wait.

Unfortunately for him, the gun store later called to say they were canceling the sale, but initially did not say why, as is their right.

Loretta Lynch Stunned Everyone With This Admission About Hillary’s FBI Investigation

When Barack Obama endorsed Hillary Clinton for President – while she was being investigated by the FBI – many observers questioned if It was a conflict of interest.
While the FBI can recommend criminal charges, it is up to Obama’s Department of Justice to actually prosecute Hillary.
Many critics blasted Obama for endorsing Clinton before the FBI investigation was complete.
Obama’s endorsement could put implied pressure on the Department of Justice to not pursue the criminal case, should the FBI recommend charges.
And critics are blasting Obama because his endorsement could taint the FBI’s decision to recommend charges at all.
However, Attorney General Loretta Lynch stunned observers when she claimed there was no conflict of interest by Obama endorsing Hillary.
She also stated she had never discussed Hillary’s emails with Obama.
Lynch made both of these admissions during an interview on “Fox News Sunday”.
The Hill reports:

“We’ve never discussed the Clinton case,” Lynch said on “Fox News Sunday.”
“I’ve never spoken about it with the president or really anyone at the White House. That’s not the kind of relationship that I have with the people there, and it would be inappropriate to do so.”
Lynch said Sunday that the president’s endorsement of Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, does not create a conflict of interest for her or for the Justice Department — although she is an appointee of the president. The attorney general met with the president following his endorsement of Clinton.
“I don’t get involved on whom the president endorses,” she said.
“The investigation into the State Department email matter is going to be handled like any other matter. We’ve got career agents and lawyers looking at that. They will follow the facts and follow the evidence wherever it leads and come to a conclusion.”

So what did Lynch and Obama discuss after he endorsed Hillary?
It strains believability to think Obama and his Attorney General did not discuss the scandal surrounding the candidate he just endorsed.
If they didn’t discuss Hillary’s email scandal, why would Obama meet with his Attorney General immediately after announcing the endorsement?
The Obama administration operates like a well oiled political machine where everyone stays on message.
After the Orlando terror attacks, administration officials – from Obama on down – all blamed the shooting on the NRA and gun laws; not radical Islamic terrorism.
Critics contend that there is no way Obama would endorse Hillary unless he and his Attorney General were already on the same page regarding her email scandal.

As Senate Democrats were launching their offensive against Second Amendment rights last night, Townhall’s Leigh Wolf decided to venture onto the Capitol Grounds to see how many armed police officers (aka good guys with guns) were present protecting lawmakers inside.
The results were as expected. There were a lot of good guys with guns.

Capitol Police certainly had AR-15s available, but it’s odd how these firearms aren’t considered “weapons of war” when they’re in the hands of law enforcement or other government entities. As soon as a civilian owns one, it’s a problem. At the same time, we all know that Democrats consider gun ownership a government right, not an individual one. That’s precisely wrong. Nevertheless, have fun watching Leigh tally the many "death machines" that are present around the Capitol Building.

Donald Trump Just Dropped This Bombshell About Barack Obama 

Donald Trump has a theory as to why Hillary Clinton used the phrase “radical jihadism” as opposed to “radical Islamic terrorism” after the terrorist attack in Orlando.
He believes she is more interested in saving her own tail than defeating the threat of Islamic terrorism.
And it all goes back to her email scandal.
Even if the FBI recommends Hillary should face criminal charges, it is up to Obama’s Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, to decide if the criminal case moves forward.
Trump believes the reason Clinton has campaigned so hard to fulfill Obama’s third term is to avoid jail time.

Of course a president can issue travel restrictions

We try hard not to be too political at SRC but I think you can safely assume we’re pro-Second Amendment and take national security very seriously indeed. That’s why we’re including this article by Robert Romano, one of our friends at Americans for Limited Government, who has kindly allowed us to reproduce it. He makes some interesting points while challenging President Obama’s claim that he can’t issue travel restrictions.
Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has doubled down on his call for a halt in immigration from regions where radical Islam flourishes, in a June 13 speech at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. in response to the terrorist attack in Orlando, Fla.
“The immigration laws of the United States give the President the power to suspend entry into the country of any class of persons that the President deems detrimental to the interests or security of the United States, as he deems appropriate,” said Trump.
“I will use this power to protect the American people. When I am elected, I will suspend immigration from areas of the world when there is a proven history of terrorism against the United States, Europe or our allies, until we understand how to end these threats. After a full, impartial and long overdue security assessment, we will develop a responsible immigration policy that serves the interests and values of America,” Trump added.

Ryan won't rule out suing Trump over Muslim ban

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) is indicating a willingness to sue Donald Trump if he tries to ban Muslims from entering the United States as president.

In an interview with The Huffington Post published Friday, Ryan didn't rule out suing a Republican president over executive overreach.

"I would sue any president that exceeds his or her powers," he said.

Still, Ryan didn't say directly whether he thought Trump enacting a ban on Muslims entering the U.S. would exceed the limits of presidential authority.

"That's a legal question that there's a good debate about," Ryan said, referring to the 1952 Immigration and Nationality Act.

Trump has doubled down on the proposal after the massacre at a gay nightclub in Orlando on Sunday. The Speaker distanced himself from the idea again this week after previously condemning it late last year.

House Republicans this week unveiled another plank of their six-part policy platform, which is aimed at drawing a contrast with Democrats ahead of the elections. The plank released Thursday calls on the legislative branch to restore its authority over what Republicans see as executive overreach under President Obama.

Chris Cox,  executive director of the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action, penned an op-ed in USAToday which puts the blame for Sunday’s Islamic terror attack where it belongs, on radical Islamic terrorists.

Americans were shocked and disgusted to learn of another act of terrorism on our soil, this time in Orlando. In the aftermath of this terrorist attack,President Obama and Hillary Clinton renewed calls for more gun control, including a ban on whole categories of semi-automatic firearms. They are desperate to create the illusion that they’re doing something to protect us because their policies can’t and won’t keep us safe. This transparent head-fake should scare every American, because it will do nothing to prevent the next attack.

The terrorist in Orlando had been investigated multiple times by the FBI. He had a government-approved security guard license with a contractor for the Department of Homeland Security. Yet his former co-workers reported violent and racist comments. Unfortunately, the Obama administration’s political correctness prevented anything from being done about it. 

Radical Islamic terrorists are not deterred by gun control laws. The San Bernardino terrorist attack wasn’t stopped by California’s so-called “assault weapons” ban. The gun ban in Brussels didn’t prevent the terrorist attack there. And France’s strict gun control didn’t stop the two attacks in Paris, committed with fully-automatic rifles and grenades. 

Repeating the same thing but expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. Law-abiding gun owners are tired of being blamed for the acts of madmen and terrorists. Semi-automatics are the most popular firearms sold in America for sport-shooting, hunting and self-defense.

We now know that the Orlando killer didn’t use the AR-15 rifle, but, alas, liberals couldn’t help themselves demonize a long gun that’s owned by millions of Americans. The New York Daily News’ Gersh Kuntzman went so far as to fire an AR-15 rifle. This should be viewed as a fantastic opportunity to fire one of the finest rifles in the country.
Yet, for many on the anti-gun Left, actually going to a gun range and shooting firearms is akin to selling you soul to the devil. It’s anathema to them. I don’t know if Kuntzman is a card-varying member of the anti-gun movement, but one thing is clear: he didn’t like shooting it, he got frazzled by it, and he felt like he was firing a bazooka. Of course, references to Orlando were included, but no—I’m not kidding that his outing to the gun range… triggered him [emphasis mine]:
