All those turkeys. And never an egg.

Yet turkey eggs contain most of the same nutrients as chicken eggs. The average turkey egg is half as big again as a chicken egg, but contains nearly twice as many calories and grams of fat and four times as much cholesterol. The problem is that turkeys only lay a couple of eggs each week. (Chickens fire out one every day.) Turkeys start laying at 7 months, two months later than their chicken counterparts. They also eat more.  And crucially for industrial farmers, chickens take up less space. So overall, turkey eggs have become financially unviable, costing as much as $3 per egg to purchase.

It wasn’t always this way. When the settlers got here, they loved the nourishment in turkey eggs. And before that, when turkeys were wild, turkey eggs were a menu staple in North America. Wild turkeys roamed the continent before the arrival of humans, and archaeologists have found turkey-egg shells at the encampments of pre-Columbian Americans. Hopi Indians consider the eggs a delicacy although the Navajo only consume the flesh.

Relatively rare nowadays, you can sometimes pick up turkey eggs at a farmers’ market or farm stand. They are best just fried, as their creamy yolks are delicious, but 19th century chefs believed turkey eggs were superior for baking. What’s Responsible for Ever-Growing Government, Entitlements or Defense?

When I give speeches on fiscal policy, I commonly get some variation of this question (and you can choose one of more of the options).

Isn’t our fiscal problem largely the result of the wars/intervention/Iraq/Afghanistan/Libya/Syria launched by Bush/Hillary/neocons/Blackwater/Pentagon?

I generally respond by first confessing my lack of expertise on military and foreign affairs, but then I point out that I’m not a fan of nation building (see George Will and Mark Steyn on this topic), so I tell people that I’m very sympathetic to the proposition that trillions of dollars that have been misspent on foreign adventurism this century. Not to mention the human cost of dead and wounded American soldiers.
But I then tell audiences that the Pentagon is not the reason why we’re in fiscal trouble.
Let’s look at two charts, both derived from the Office and Management and Budget’s historical data.
First, here are two pie charts based on the spreadsheet in Table 4.2, which looks at how much of the budget is consumed by different agencies and departments. For both 1962 and 2016, I added together outlays for the Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs and compared that military-related spending to other major categories.
As you can see, military-related outlays used to account for more than one-half of the federal budget, but not they are less than one-fourth of total spending in Washington.

Whiney, coddled babies at Hampshire College in Massachusetts were so disrespectful of the American flag in the wake of Donald Trump’s presidential election that college administrators made the decision to remove all flags from campus:

Individuals at Hampshire College were so enraged at Republican Donald Trump’s Nov. 8 victory over Hillary Clinton that its U.S. flag was stolen one night and then burned before dawn on Veterans Day.

Officials lowered a third replacement to half-staff due to claims the flag represents “racism and hatred,” but anger by military veterans and their families prompted the school to remove it entirely.

A statement on the college’s official Facebook page claims that administrators lowered the flag to half-staff so that the community could delve “deeper into the meaning of the flag and its presence on our campus.”
An angered veteran responded with exactly the meaning of the flag:

“As a veteran, it saddens me to see that the symbol of our country will no longer be flown at your institution,” added Tiffany Hersch. “So many have forgotten what the symbolism of the flag actually means. The thirteen stripes represent the original colonies that gained their independence from England. The fifty stars represent the individual states. The white represents innocence, the red represents valor and bravery, while the blue represents perseverance, vigilance, and justice. I think these are values that are instrumental in guiding the future leaders of America, and not to be carelessly discarded.”

If these children are our future, the country is doomed.

Paul Ryan Just Got Really Bad News

The 2016 presidential election wasn’t just a contest between Donald Trump and the Democrats.
It was also between Trump and the Republican establishment, which was led by House Speaker Paul Ryan.
And Paul Ryan may not be happy about whose vision the voters preferred.
When Donald Trump kicked off his campaign, he placed ending illegal immigration, building a wall along our Southern border that would be paid for by Mexico, and ending the disastrous trade deals as the central planks of his platform.
Trump’s populism mobilized working class voters across America as he swept to victory in the Republican primary.
But no one thought he could pull it off in the general election where a supposedly more diverse electorate would sink his chances.
Trump’s appeal ran directly counter to the Republican establishment that was led by Speaker Paul Ryan.
Ryan favors amnesty and open borders.
He backs globalist trade deals that benefit major corporations who ship jobs overseas for access to cheap foreign labor.
Many so-called “experts” believed Trump’s brand was so toxic in a general election that after he went down to an inevitable defeat, Ryan would emerge as the leader of the Republican rebuilding project.
However, after all the votes were counted, Trump not only won a decisive victory over Hillary Clinton,  he won more Electoral College votes than any Republican since 1988 — riding on Trump’s coattails allowed the GOP to maintain their House and Senate majorities.
Trump’s populist nationalism carried the day.
And that’s bad news for Ryan, who spent the entire campaign trying to undermine Trump’s chances so the establishment could take back control of the party from the populist conservatives who nominated Trump.
So you saw Ryan trying to make nice with Trump when the President-Elect toured the Capitol.
The pro-open-borders and pro-amnesty Ryan even claimed in an interview with Fox News that securing the border was his number one priority
But Trump’s allies haven’t forgotten Ryan’s treachery during the campaign, and are pledging to hold him accountable should he choose not to implement the agenda Trump campaigned on.
The Hill reports:

Populist pro-Donald Trump website Breitbart is not stopping its war on Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) now that Trump is President-elect.
 “Ryan will not get amnesty for his actions against the conservative movement and the American people,” a source familiar with Breitbart’s internal deliberations told The Hill on Wednesday.

WikiLeaks Released This Shocking Statement About The U.S. Election 

WikiLeaks emerged as a major player in the U.S. election.
The pro-transparency online activist group released tens of thousands of emails that exposed our rigged political system.
And on Election Day, WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, released a surprising statement about their role in the election.

The emails showed how national party staff colluded with the Clinton campaign to rig the primary against Bernie Sanders.

Assange answered the charges of being pro-Trump in his statement.
He also reflected on the impact WikiLeaks had on the U.S. election.

Issa: Trump Hasn't Closed Door on Hillary Prosecution

President-elect Donald Trump said he doesn't want to hurt his former Democratic rival Hillary Clinton any more, but hasn't declared her innocent, so she could still be prosecuted over her use of a private email server or other possible wrongdoing, Rep. Darrell Issa said Friday.
Nothing Trump has said would stop Jeff Sessions, if confirmed as attorney general, from reopening the case against Clinton and prosecuting her, Issa explained.

"I think it's important that the president do essentially what he does, which is get out of the business of prosecuting, but at the same time he's appointed or proposed appointing an attorney general who has a long record of doing his job," Issa, a California Republican and a member of the House Judiciary Committee, told Fox News' "Fox and Friends," doubling down on comments he made on the matter earlier this week.
Sessions, along with the FBI and other investigatory organizations, "need to do their job," Issa said Friday, and he believes with Trump in office, that will happen.

File this under WTF? Are we turning into the bleak, humorless, mind-controlled Soviet Union?
Who do you think is at fault here? Santa, the snowflake mom, or the store for folding to her ridiculous complaint.

Here’s what happened. A Florida shopping mall formally apologized to a family and placed its Santa in “counseling” after the man jokingly told a little girl Hillary Clinton was on his “naughty list.”
The man, who has not been named, was working as a mall Santa at the Seminole Towne Center in Sanford, Florida.
After a 10-year-old girl told him what she wanted for Christmas, the Santa informed her she was on his “nice list.”
“Do you know who is on my naughty list? Hillary Clinton,” he then allegedly said.
The girl’s mother complained to mall officials.
The company that provided the mall Santa issued an apology to the family.
The man was sent to “counseling” with human resources officials.
The company has not said if he will be allowed to keep his job.
OK, maybe we should leave politics out of Santa’s Grotto, but was this escalation necessary? It’s just another example of the new phenomenon of “virtue-signaling” where people say they love or hate something to show off what a virtuous person they are instead of actually trying to fix the problem or deal with it rationally.
Look out for it everywhere these days.

Barack Obama Is About To Stab Donald Trump In The Back 

As a matter of protocol, former President’s try to remain silent on how their successor conducts his affairs.
American can only have on President at a time.
But Barack Obama announced he may undermine President-elect Trump, and it could have dire consequences for America.
Liberals are shell-shocked over the results of November 8^th.

“I want to be respectful of the office and give the president-elect an opportunity to put forward his platform and his arguments without somebody popping off in every instance,” Obama said, but “as an American citizen who cares deeply about our country, if there are issues that have less to do with the specifics of some legislative proposal or battle but go to core questions about our values and our ideals, and if I think that it’s necessary or helpful for me to defend those ideals, then I’ll examine it when it comes.”

If Hillary had pneumonia, why are her symptoms persisting for so long? Could it be a heart valve or aortic valve disease? No doctor who subscribes to the pneumonia disclosure by Hillary’s campaign is able to answer this simple question.

This is especially true, when we combine all the other symptoms Hillary is displaying on daily basis.
The only way for anyone to find Hillary’s ailment is to combine all the symptoms to fit a single diagnosis.
This has been an extremely difficult task for observers.
And this is why we find so many fluctuating opinions from a ‘medical condition’ to even ‘demonic possession’ which has been the subject of speculation for several months now.
No matter what medical ‘expert’ opinion you read that attempt to pinpoint the exact condition, these fail when obvious other symptoms will debunk the proposed diagnosis.
For example, some doctors speculated her symptoms are signs of “Parkinson disease,” others said it was a heart condition, while others opted for brain cancer or a trauma to the head due to her fall causing neurological conditions.
It is also possible that the fall was caused by other symptoms. So we have major symptoms as coughing, dizziness, depression, headaches, lightness, fainting, head bobbing, forgetfulness, senior moments … and other minor symptoms; wide staring eyes, fascination with balloons and colors…

 

One must deal with all these combinations, and pneumonia is out of the question, which makes it obvious,  this diagnosis is for public consumption. It could be possible (but the chances become slimmer) that she has multiple problems.
Doctors cannot easily explain the uncontrollable coughing combined with seizures, appearance of being mesmerized, eyes popping wide open (no its not the chai tea Hillary says to try), fainting, forgetfulness, stunned, wobbling, bobbing head, and all the other symptoms of what appears as musculoskeletal disorders.
In other words, a “Hillary with pneumonia,” while she will cough, they do not explain all the other symptoms, especially that this cough has been persisting for months. Or if one has Parkinson, do they have uncontrollable coughing? While heart valve problems, indeed do produce an uncontrolled continual cough, where does all the fainting and troubles with equilibrium come from? Does Hillary have a brain tumor, vertigo, plus Parkinson and pneumonia all wrapped up in the same tortilla?
When you read all the articles on doctors observing all this you will find that they tend to pick few symptoms, make their speculation, while ignoring all the other symptoms.
No one is able to affix a diagnosis that matches all the symptoms we see.

An optimist might be tempted to believe that leftists at America’s universities have discovered a secret weapon to defeat Islamic terrorism. After watching news reports of liberal students crying and having to be consoled by puppies and coloring books after losing the 2016 election, thousands of jihadists probably just laughed themselves to death. One can’t help but imagine the hysterical laughter during small-arms training at a terrorist camp when the instructor shows a CNN clip of the campus revolt and says, “I got your trigger warning right here.”
If the metrosexual college kids we’re seeing on news reports are representative of what the next generation has to offer, weapons of mass destruction will not be needed to bring down the Great Satan. A loud “boo” will probably send these snowflakes scampering for their safe spaces. And this from a nation that once produced the twenty-somethings who flew B-17 bombers through fields of flak and enemy fighters over Nazi Germany.

In explaining the Snowflake Revolution on campus, the news media squelched any hope that they learned a lesson from the country butt-whipping they just took from the voters. (In a country butt-whipping, as opposed to a regular whipping, a lecture accompanies the whipping, as in, “We’ve told you and told you to stop lying to us!”) But here they go again. This time, their narrative is that the protests on college campuses and in America’s city streets are caused, not by liberal intolerance of any ideas other than their own, but by President-elect Trump’s dangerous views. For example, in her “60 Minutes” interview with the president-elect, Lesley Stahl offered with a straight face the view that the demonstrators are simply “afraid” of Trump and the people who voted for him.

What we’re seeing in the post-election protests, they would have us believe, is frightened people standing up for their rights and those of the downtrodden. Following that line of thought, what the frightened leftists need is not to grow up and live in the real world but reassurance, consolation and – wait for it – policy concessions by the incoming administration!
