Baltimore Grand Jury Indicts Six Officers in Freddie Gray's Death
Image: Baltimore police officers charged in Freddie Gray case

NBC NEWS
In a hasty early-evening news conference, State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby reeled off the charges handed down by the grand jury against the officers: Caesar Goodson Jr., William Porter, Brian Rice, Edward Nero, Garrett Miller and Alicia White.
The grand jury's charges differed slightly from those filed by Mosby on May 1, when she announced the results of her office's independent investigation of Gray's death. Some original charges, including false imprisonment and assault, were dropped in the cases of some of the officers, and new charges, including reckless endangerment, were added against all of them.

I always knew there was something SPECIAL about beer..........

110-Year-Old's Secret To A Long Life Will Have You Buzzing (Hint: It's Beer)   The Huffington Post  |  By   Posted:

"A beer a day keeps the doctor away."
OK, so that's not the real quote. But if it were, it should be attributed to Mark Behrends who turned 110 last week. The Nebraska City man has said his habit of drinking one can of beer every day at 3 p.m. may be why he's lived so long.
“He always joked that that was his medicine since he takes very little medicine," daughter Lois Bassinger told the Omaha World-Herald.

The Gerontology Research Group has identified Behrends as the oldest living man in the U.S. whose age can be verified, according to the World-Herald. But Behrends told the newspaper that he doesn't even notice his age. He lived independently and drove regularly until he was 106, but now resides in a nursing home. The former farmer and construction worker held a custodial job until he was almost 80, the Lincoln Journal Star reported last year.
Last week Behrends attended a three-hour birthday celebration in his honor at a local church, with 50 to 75 family members and friends by his side.
Sounds like a life worth emulating. So is Behrends' beer habit sound advice for living a really long time? Several observational health studies and meta-analyses have pointed to a relationship between moderate alcohol consumption and lower risk of coronary heart disease. But questions remain as to whether that link is causal and if it's consistent throughout the population.
In any case, heavy alcohol consumption is definitely bad for you. It's best to limit your weekly alcohol consumption, not start drinking if you don't already and consult with your doctor.
It's unclear if the super-centenarian still regularly enjoys a cold brew or if he's had a chance to sample the fruits of the American craft beer renaissance. Bassinger said her dad has always enjoyed “whatever kind was around," but he leans toward Miller brand beers.
With the utmost respect for Mr. Behrends and his tastes, maybe it's time one of Nebraska's 32 craft breweries paid him a special visit.

Omaha police officer killed in shootout just hours before going on maternity leave
A 29-year-old police officer who had put off maternity leave after giving birth prematurely to a daughter in February was being mourned Thursday, a day after she was gunned down in a shootout with a fugitive. Kerrie Orozco …the first female officer from Omaha's police department to die in the line of duty, had only recently given birth to a daughter, and also was stepmother to two children ages 6 and 7, according to authorities. She was pronounced dead at Creighton University Medical Center shortly after the 1 p.m. shooting, Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said at a hospital news conference. Schmaderer said the suspect, 26-year-old Marcus Wheeler, also died at the hospital.

Ferguson 'Protesters' Are Now Protesting That They Didn't Get Paid BY
Wed, May 20 2015

Were the Ferguson protests a spontaneous expression of community outrage or an orchestrated campaign with paid "protesters"? It's looking more and more like the latter.
Early on, there were signs that protests over the shooting of an unarmed black man by a white cop were less than meets the eye.
In December, IBD noted that most of the protesters getting arrested weren't local residents but people bussed in from groups like the New Black Panthers, the U.S. Human Rights Network and the ANSWER Coalition.
Later, after the riots in Baltimore erupted, Fox News reported that as many as 50 social media accounts were tied to both those and the Ferguson protests, suggesting the presence of "professional protesters."
Now some of the "protesters" themselves are complaining that they never got paid.
In mid-May, Millennial Activists United organized a sit-in at the Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment offices. The reason: MORE owed the protesters money.
The group complained that MORE "created a joint account in which national donors from all over the world have donated over $150,000 to sustain the movement," but "the poor black people of this movement ... have seen little to none of that money."
A letter posted by the group went on to claim, "Organizers and protesters depleted $50,000 of the available funds and dispersed it among the people in the movement in no particular order." They even started a Twitter hashtag to encourage MORE to cough up the money: #cutthecheck.
There's nothing wrong with protesters getting paid. It's a free country, and they have to make a living, too. But maybe these protesters should think about joining a union before they hit the streets next time.

And we all thought with a REPUBLICAN congress that most of our problems were over....HAH !

President Barack Obama is negotiating a multilateral trade agreement with the governments of 11 nations. These include Malaysia and Vietnam -- as well as Japan, Brunei, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, Chile and Peru.
This so-called Trans-Pacific Partnership would govern most of the commercial relations between the nations that sign it.
"With over 20 chapters under negotiation," explains a Congressional Research Service report published in March, "the TPP partners envision the agreement to be 'comprehensive and high-standard,' in that they seek to eliminate tariffs and nontariff barriers to trade in goods, services, and agriculture, and to establish or expand rules on a wide range of issues including intellectual property rights, foreign direct investment and other trade-related issues."
The Obama administration has granted the draft of this massive deal more secrecy than a Hillary Clinton email. Documents related to it are classified, and members of Congress can review them in a secured room.

The degree a marshmallow is roasted runs the gamut, from the barely cooked, light caramel-colored outer layer to the flaming marshmallow that contains a gooey interior wrapped by a crispy, blackened shell. From there, most people graduate to s’mores and rarely move on

UPDATE -  As Katie noted this morning, the State Department will release 'portions' of Hillary's emails early next year. As you read headlines to that effect, please remember that the pool of emails State has in its possession do not include any of the 32,000 messages that were deleted by Hillary's lawyers, without any supervision.

* Original Post *
Here we go: Two major Hillary stories, each quite significant -- much like we saw late last month.  This time, rather than revelations about a wildly suspicious uranium deal and tens of millions in unreported foreign government donations to the Clinton Foundation, we're looking at astonishing evidence of rogue, conflict-of-interest-riddled, off-the-books diplomacy...and yet another lie related to Hillary's secret email scheme.  We'll get to the email lie in a moment, but in order to connect the dots, let's review some key details in a Monday New York Times story.  As you read, bear in mind that "Mr. Blumenthal" is Sid Blumenthal, a long-time Clinton hatchet man and operative who had been explicitly barred by the Obama administration from taking a job in Hillary's State Department:

Georgia math teacher fired, wanted by police for allegedly allowing teens to have sex in school closet

The student's mom found text messages between her teen son and his middle school teacher that described using a laptop to drown out noises of a sex session at school.
BY    NEW YORK DAILY NEWS  Tuesday, May 19, 2015,

The teacher- Quentin Wright, 25, is wanted by police on at least one misdemeanor charge.

The student's mom found text messages between her teen son and his middle school teacher that described using a laptop to drown out noises of a sex session at school.
A Georgia math teacher has been fired and is wanted by police after a mom reported the man for allegedly allowing students to have sex in a middle school storage closet.
The unidentified mom found sexually explicit cellphone texts between her 14-year-old son and 25-year-old Quentin Wright, whom the mom says allowed the boy to have sex with a female classmate in a closet at Champion Middle School in Stone Mountain, according to WSB-TV.
“He told my son you can have it from 7:30 to like 8:30,” the mother told the news station as she scrolled through and read the text messages. “‘Did you tell the girl what’s going to happen? That she cannot tell anybody?’ Basically don’t tell anyone I’m allowing you to use my room.”

Why aren't they sending the National Guard in? Because no one is setting Waco on fire and no one is rioting about it

PHOTO: Law enforcement continue to investigate the motorcycle gang related shooting at the Twin Peaks restaurant, May 18, 2015, in Waco, Texas.
Police have released video that captured the scene of the violent brawl that erupted between rival Texas biker groups that left nine suspected gang members dead and 170 in custody.
The video shows the chaos unfold in the Twin Peaks Restaurant parking lot in Waco, where bikers were armed with guns, knives and brass knuckles, police said. Video shows police with guns pointed at the bikers, some of whom were on the ground.
Officers were already at the scene when the shooting started, Waco Police Sgt. Patrick Swanton said, and responded within 30 to 45 seconds. Some officers "appropriately" returned fire at the bikers, Swanton said.
No officers were injured, police said.

Police said investigators were still processing the crime scene Monday.
Members of as many as five biker gangs had gathered at Twin Peaks Restaurant in the Central Texas Market Place to discuss their differences, Swanton said. A fistfight began and quickly escalated to include knives and firearms, and then spilled into the parking lot, where gang members fired at each other, Swanton said.
Eighteen people were taken from the scene Sunday to hospitals, mostly for gunshot and stab wounds, police said.

I’ve Read Obama’s Secret Trade Deal. Elizabeth Warren Is Right to Be Concerned.  By MICHAEL WESSEL   May 19, 2015

“You need to tell me what’s wrong with this trade agreement, not one that was passed 25 years ago,” a frustrated President Barack Obama recently complained about criticisms of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP). He’s right. The public criticisms of the TPP have been vague. That’s by design—anyone who has read the text of the agreement could be jailed for disclosing its contents. I’ve actually read the TPP text provided to the government’s own advisors, and I’ve given the president an earful about how this trade deal will damage this nation. But I can’t share my criticisms with you.
I can tell you that Elizabeth Warren is right about her criticism of the trade deal. We should be very concerned about what's hidden in this trade deal—and particularly how the Obama administration is keeping information secret even from those of us who are supposed to provide advice.
So-called “cleared advisors” like me are prohibited from sharing publicly the criticisms we’ve lodged about specific proposals and approaches. The government has created a perfect Catch 22: The law prohibits us from talking about the specifics of what we’ve seen, allowing the president to criticize us for not being specific. Instead of simply admitting that he disagrees with me—and with many other cleared advisors—about the merits of the TPP, the president instead pretends that our specific, pointed criticisms don’t exist.

Now Playing: Hillary Clinton's Private Emails May Not Be Released Anytime Soon

In response to Freedom of Information Act Lawsuit filed by Vice News, the State Department on Monday argued to a U.S. District Court that the process of reviewing the emails is simply too arduous and time-consuming, and asked the court to adopt a proposed completion date of January 15, 2016 -- just two weeks before the primary season for the 2016 presidential race gets into full swing.
When it was revealed Clinton had been using her own private email server to conduct government business during her tenure as Secretary of State, she took to social media to tell the public she wanted everyone to see her emails. Now the 2016 front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, Clinton said she’d asked the State Department to review them and make them public as soon as possible. READ MORE

Police: Man Told Officers 'Go Ahead and Kill Me' in Shootout ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — May 18, 2015, By TAMARA LUSH Associated Press

Before 18-year-old Austin Goodner was killed by Florida police on Sunday, authorities said he argued with four people near a city pool, shot a man on a bike in the arm and then shot an officer in the leg.
"A suspect shot at my officers, and they returned fire so they could go home," St. Petersburg police Chief Anthony Holloway said Monday at a news conference.
Goodner was known to officers, Holloway said, having been involuntarily committed twice in 2011. He had also been previously arrested for aggravated battery, the chief said.
On Sunday, Goodner made a comment to four people "about their sexual orientation" at near a pool near the city's downtown, Holloway said. Goodner then rode away on his bike, and officers said he confronted another man on a bike. He fired one shot and hit the man in the arm, police said.
Officers said they then went to the home Goodner shared with his parents and said they found Goodner in the backyard, holding a .9mm gun.
Goodner raised the weapon at the officers, and that's when they shot him, officials said. Holloway said Goodner returned fire and struck 40-year-old officer Michael Cordiviola in the leg. The officer was dragged away from the scene by a fellow policeman and used a nearby hose as a tourniquet.
Holloway said Goodner yelled, "Go ahead and kill me" to the officers as the shootout occurred.
The officers fired and hit Goodner. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Officials are looking into how Goodner obtained the weapon. Authorities say his parents told them they wouldn't have a gun in the house.
The county's state attorney is reviewing the shootings, which is routine for any police shooting that results in death.
Cordiviola, the injured officer, is recovering in a local hospital and is expected to be released later this week.

It would affect them tremendously, there would be no one to blame, no one to assault but mostly, NO ONE TO GIVE THEM THEIR "FREE STUFF".

Black Leader Dares To Ask, If All Whites Left The Country, How Would It Really Affect The Black Community?
Robert Woodson, a nationally recognized community development leader, posed an amazing question on CSPAN this Tuesday.
“If all whites tomorrow were to move to Canada and Europe, tell me how it would affect the black on black crime rate, how would it it affect the out-of-wedlock births, how would it affect the spread of AIDS?” he asked.
He added, “What I’m saying to Black America [is that] we must stop victimization. We must stop complaining about what white folks have done to us in the past. We must go into ourselves, as Dr. King said, and find indelible ink — our own emancipation proclamation.”

Why should local police have ANY military equiptment ??

White House Bans Police Use of Some Military Equipment
PHOTO: Police wait to advance after tear gas was used to disperse a crowd in Ferguson, Mo., Aug. 17, 2014.
The White House is banning certain types of military-style equipment for local law enforcement.
The surprise announcement comes after the White House signaled last year that such equipment would remain accessible to local police departments, despite criticisms that the police response to protests over the killing of black teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri were over-militarized.
But an interagency task force has since concluded that the risk of such military-style equipment being misused and violating community trust outweighs the advantages it offers in maintaining public peace.
The new list of banned equipment includes tracked armored vehicles, weaponized aircraft and vehicles, bayonets, grenade launchers, and large-caliber firearms.
The announcement comes on the same day that the president will travel to Camden, New Jersey -- one of the nation’s poorest and most dangerous cities -- to highlight efforts his administration is making to build trust between communities and local law enforcement.

Cossacks Install Monument of Russian President Vladimir Putin as Roman Emperor Near St. Petersburg

Vladimir Putin has been described as a “czar” by fans and critics alike, but a group of Cossacks in St. Petersburg have gone a step further, erecting a statue of Putin in the form of a Roman emperor.
The 20-centimeter [7.9-inch] bust, erected by a group that supports Putin, depicts the Russian leader, head turned imperiously, wearing Roman laurels, armor and a cloak.
“In this image is the symbol of our Russian democracy,” Andrei Polyakov, who heads the Irbis Orthodox Union of Cossacks, which commissioned the statue for their new headquarters outside St. Petersburg, Putin’s hometown, told Russian media.
“Presidents come and go, but an emperor as a symbol is, I think, probably what Russia needs,” Polyakov told Reuters. READ STORY

Maj. Gen. Craig Olson
A civil-liberties group is demanding a two-star Air Force general be court-martialed for mentioning God at a National Day of Prayer Task Force speech on May 7.
Despite the religious nature of the event, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation has called for Olson to be “aggressively and very visibly brought to justice for his unforgivable crimes and transgressions,” adding that any other service members who helped him should be investigated and punished “to the full extent of military law.”
During his 23-minute address, Maj. Gen. Craig Olson referred to himself as a “redeemed believer in Christ,” who credits God for his accomplishments in the Air Force. He spoke of “flying complex aircraft; doing complex nuclear missions – I have no ability to do that. God enabled me to do that. … He put me in charge of failing programs worth billions of dollars. I have no ability to do that, no training to do that. God did that. He sent me to Iraq to negotiate foreign military sales deals through an Arabic interpreter. I have no ability to do that. Why is Trey Gowdy Letting Hillary Off the Hook
Screen Shot 2015-05-04 at 3.33.04 PM     Trey Gowdy has been hounding Hillary Clinton for months on end.
He wants her to turn over her emails, which Hillary has been slow to do.
But in a shocking change, Gowdy has said he is prepared to let Hillary go with the emails she’s turned over already, without requiring her to hand over any more.
What would make Gowdy do such a thing you wonder?
It’s a very good question.
Gowdy’s indicated if he could get Clinton to swear under oath, at the risk of committing perjury, that she’s handed over all relevant emails then he won’t require any more.
“If she were, under some theory, able to say, ‘yes, I can promise you under penalty of perjury you have every single document you’re entitled to,’ that would probably shut off that line of inquiry,” he told Capital Download. “If she can, then it will be a short conversation.”
The problem here is Clinton is probably just like her husband and would look at an oath as nothing
Let’s hope Gowdy doesn’t relent in any way, shape, or form.

Police: 9 dead after shooting between biker gangs in Texas
Police in Waco, Texas say nine people are dead and multiple people are injured after a shooting between rival biker gangs at a restaurant Sunday.
Authorities say the nine people killed in the shootout were all members of rival biker gangs that had gathered for a meeting.
Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton told The Associated Press that eight people died at the scene of the shooting at the Twin Peaks restaurant about noon Sunday and another person died at a hospital. The severity of injuries to others was not immediately known and it is not clear if bystanders at the restaurant were among the injured.
"There are still bodies on the scene of the parking lot at Twin Peaks," he said. "There are bodies that are scattered throughout the parking lot of the next adjoining business."
Swanton says the gangs had arranged to meet to discuss differences when a fistfight began and quickly escalated to include knives and firearms. He says there were "hundreds" of gang members and a small number of other patrons in the restaurant.

Did Louis C.K. Go Too Far With ‘Mildy Racist’ & Pedophile Monologue On ‘SNL’?

Holy moley. Oh, man. Louis C.K. launched the season finale of Saturday Night Live with a monologue that took no prisoners and is bound to go down in SNL history as either the most infamous one-night-stand in the 40-year-old franchise’s history — or right up there in the pantheon of incendiary, taboo-busting that includes Lenny Bruce, Sarah Silverman, George Carlin and Richard Pryor. Looking loose and at ease in a stained black T-shirt and jeans, the comedian began jovially enough but quickly segued into a riff on Israel-Palestine, comparing the warring sides to his bickering children, then went on to acknowledging his “mildly racist” attitudes (among the lines of his different thought-responses to white-male-in-hoodie versus black-male-in-hoodie) and the clincher: A long bit about your friendly local neighborhood pedophile that was guaranteed to offend even the most divided among the viewers of the earlier material. At one point, he compared the joy of eating his favorite candy, Mounds bars, to what sex must be like for a child molester.
A promo during the local news lead-in to the show featured Kate McKinnon and Louis, in which she said that it would be his final appearance on the program, which seemed to take him by surprise. Was it a joke? Should it have been? Or did SNL once again this season (after Chris Rock’s memorable appearance last fall) hit the bulls-eye with scorched-earth satire you will never find anywhere else? Watch the clip and tell us what you thought.

Gun Rights Group Wins Access To Potentially Embarrassing NY Gun Registration Data

A New York gun right’s group just won a state Supreme court victory that could turn out to be incredibly embarrassing for Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York’s rabidly anti-gun legislature:
A state Supreme Court judge has ruled that the state needs to make public statistical information on the number of assault weapons registered in New York.
The April 30 ruling in Albany was disclosed Thursday by the Shooters Committee on Public Education, a gun-rights group that sued last year after the state refused to release the details. State Police claimed the information was not public under a gun-control law passed in January 2013.
Paloma Capanna, a Rochester-area lawyer who represented the group, called the decision a major victory for transparency in government.
She said she would file an order demanding the release of the data if the state doesn’t immediately comply; the state may also appeal. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Bill Robinson, a Penfield, Monroe County, gun-rights activist.
What’s so embarrassing for the state about this aggregate data?
The expected lack of it:

You ‘Must be Made’ to Obey   Matt Barber | May 17, 2015
While actions speak louder than words, words often predict future actions. Secular progressives’ words and actions rarely align. This is because the pseudo-utopian, wholly dystopian perch from which they view the world is so detached from reality that, from a cultural and public policy standpoint, they must disguise their intended actions in flowery and euphemistic language, or face near universal rejection.

When they don’t like the terms, liberals redefine the terms to mean something they do not, never have and never can mean. Consider, for instance, the once meaningful words “marriage” and “equality.”
Other “progressive” doublespeak includes words like “invest” (meaning socialist redistribution of wealth), “tolerance” (meaning embrace immorality or face total ruin), “diversity” (meaning Christians and conservatives need not apply), “hate” (meaning truth) or “The Affordable Care Act” (meaning unaffordable, unsustainable and utterly inferior socialized medicine).
Even so, it’s during those rare moments of candor that our cultural Marxist friends’ rhetoric actually aligns with their intended actions. In other words, every so often, and usually by accident, they tell the truth.

CNN Turning on Obama? The Controversial Story Inside

Screen Shot 2015-05-11 at 2.23.43 PM

There’s some noted animosity between the President and the liberal news network as of late.
Just a few weeks ago at the White House Correspondent’s dinner, Obama took a few jabs at CNN.
Well, now CNN is firing back, going so far as to publish a report on a story in which Obama is being indicted in a massive cover-up over the death of Bin-Laden.
You’ll no doubt remember the President conveniently showed the world he had orchestrated the killing of the world’s most wanted terrorist only days after publishing his birth certificate.
So far it’s been one of his biggest claims to fame.
With the announcement Bin-Laden was dead, the birth certificate story petered out, and the media was taken by the Bin-Laden story as it unfolded in bite-size pieces.
A daring nighttime raid by Seal Team 6, a quick execution, and then a burial at sea was all Obama needed to satisfy Americans.
But now, a noted liberal journalist isn’t so sure Obama was being truthful about the ordeal.
