Obama Spends $100,000 to Shut Down Free Memorials

Today, he held a news conference where he shamelessly blamed Republicans for all of the nation’s problems, including the recent government shutdown. But Obama can’t see the own irony in his criticisms.

As we head into the second week of the federal government’s shutdown, Obama has saved several programs and facilities from closing their doors because they offer him political support. But facilities that remain open 24 hours a day, unguarded and without gates, are being boarded up and paid for by taxpayers.

Last week, in response to the shutdown, WWII veterans from all over the country traveled to the WWII Memorial in downtown Washington, D.C. to protest the government’s exploits. Many veterans blamed Obama’s weak leadership as a factor in the shutdown.

Instead of Obama listening to the Greatest Generation’s criticisms, he simply shut down the memorial. Obama spent an estimated $100,000 on barricades for the WWII Memorial—an unguarded landmark that’s open to the public 24/7.

Park rangers told reporters, “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.”

Obama’s behavior is disgusting in itself.
