Keeping up with the Joneses can become an obsession, to the point where people even start apologizing to burglars for their paucity of riches. That's what Kate Barrett and her boyfriend, Dan Owens, did after they discovered their Northampton, England, home had been ransacked by thieves. Barrett penned a letter she pinned to their back door after the incident, informing the burglars how sorry they were that they didn't have much to offer because of their lack of "particularly expensive tastes" and that there was "no need to come again." There was one thing they were actually disappointed wasn't taken. Read the entire letter below to find out what it was. [Source]
Dear Burglars,
Thanks for popping by the other night and we're sorry we didn't have more for you to take.
As you now know, we don't have particularly expensive tastes, so there's no need to come in again, unless you would like to take my collection of VHS videos and cassettes — Dan is very disappointed you didn't take these first time round.
If you would like them, just knock on the front door and ask — no need to break another patio door as it's dreadfully hard work cleaning up all the glass.

Thanks for all the fingerprints — we really appreciated those.
Lots of love
Kate and Dan xxx
