Officials say several witnesses spotted the animal on Pine Road and Shady Lane on Tuesday. One witness was Foose Tahiraj, the owner of a Philadelphia deli.
Tahiraj says he was delivering two hoagie trays at the intersection of Pine Road and Shady Lane around 3:30 p.m. when he spotted the bear in a wooded area about 75 yards away.
“I just took the photo to show my boys that I ran into a bear today,” Tahiraj said. “It looked cute. It looked nice. It didn’t look mean.”
Officials say the animal is a male black bear, weighing approximately 150 pounds. They also say the same bear was spotted several times in Bucks County over the last few days.
Conservation officers as well as the Philadelphia, Rockledge and Abington Police Departments are all searching for the animal. ...........This won't mean anything unless you know Philly...A big doe was roadkill on Hunting Park and Whitaker aves. last Sunday......in the heart of the city
The animals are getting closer !!
