'No Justice, No Peace' Black Lives Matter Group To Receive Peace Prize
Black Lives Matter Awarded Sydney Peace Prize
Sydney, AU – In perhaps one of the most nonsensical awards ever granted, the 2017 Sydney Peace Prize is being awarded to Patrisse Cullors, Opal Tometi, and Alicia Garza, the founders of Black Lives Matter.According to The Daily Caller, the group is scheduled to receive a “peaceful award” ‘to highlight’ its work to bring about ‘change in a nonviolent way’. The award will be presented on November 2 in Sydney.
In a press release, the Sydney Peace Foundation said that it honors people each year who are “leading global voices that promote peace, justice and nonviolence. It also said that they chose Black Lives Matter “because of the movement’s dedication to its “bold and visionary strategies.”
