Days After Biden Axes Trump’s ‘Remain In Mexico’ – Joe Frantically Backpedals, Begs Mexico To“Take Back” Border Crossers   By Ben Dutka  |March 26, 2021

When President Donald Trump was in office, he tried to stem the tide of foreign travelers that flooded America’s southern border. This included his now-infamous wall, and a variety of programs.

One of those was the “Remain in Mexico” program, which called for families seeking asylum in the U.S. to await their court dates in Mexico. But 2 months ago, Biden ditched it.

And now, the new Commander-in-Chief might be regretting that decision.

During his first formal press conference on Thursday, President Biden addressed the ongoing issue at the border, though he still didn’t go into enough detail to satisfy most Republicans.

He did, however, talk about migrant families that wished to enter the U.S., and why some remain in the country while their asylum situation remains undecided.

That’s when Biden surprised a lot of Democrats and liberals, by essentially suggesting he wants to revisit the “Remain in Mexico” concept.

Here are the remarks that have garnered heavy controversy on both sides of the aisle (via Breitbart):

What about dealing with families? Why are some not going back? Because Mexico is refusing to take them back. They’re saying they won’t take them back, not all of them.

We’re in negotiations with the President of Mexico and I think we’re going to see that change. They should all be going back, all be going back.

Of course, this was the point of Trump’s deal with Mexico, and now it sounds like Biden wants to consider something similar.

After all, “Remain in Mexico” was a very effective program that also helped weed out asylum fraud in over 71,000 cases: less than 1 percent of foreigners had a legitimate asylum claim.

Biden’s comments still annoyed plenty of leftist activists and politicians, because they sound suspiciously similar to Trump’s.

The problem is, the current President ended “Remain in Mexico” on his very first day in office and ever since, the surge of travelers to our southern border has exploded.

And once again, we’re facing the same issues we faced before Trump stepped in, which Biden is apparently realizing now.

For months, the Biden administration refused to call the situation a “crisis,” despite most border authorities begging for assistance, and issuing warnings with some very disturbing statistics.

Now, Biden says “they should all be going back.” That begs the question: if it’s not a crisis, why should they all have to go back…?

In the eyes of many, what Trump was doing was working. And when Biden reversed so many of his policies right out of the gate, he might’ve proven Trump supporters right.

Because the border has once again become a serious issue, and all in a very short span of time.

Now, though, it sounds like Biden is starting to realize that in some ways, Donald Trump might’ve been 100 percent right.
