Why didn't the US destroy EVERY piece of equipment they had to leave behind...?? I thought that was a common practice...???

We left it for use by Afhgan army. We cut off air support and would not let contractor maintenance workers in to work on aafhgan air planes. Tirned power off at Bagram air base when we left with out letting afhgan commander know we were leaving. How did you think this would turmn out?

Because incompetence is the only requirement to be in a position of authority in American government, now including the military.

I'm sure they were just Shokkt to find out it all went to the Taliban..
