Sen. Blumenthal Goes Into Damage Control After Speaking At Communist Party Awards   (He claims he didn't know the ceremony was tied to the Communist Party.)

(D-CT) had some back
tracking to do afterhe
recently delivered a speech
at an awards ceremony
withdirect ties to the
Community Party of the
United States.

Blumenthal played ignorance, telling a 

Connecticut newspaper on Friday that he just 

didn’t know who he was unaware speaking to, 

and said that had he known, he wouldn’t have 

attended.

Blumenthal attended the “Amistad Award” 

ceremony, an annual event put on by the 

Connecticut People’s World Committee, an 

affiliate of the Communist Party USA.
