Why won't the media report how guns DO save lives and prevent violence ???     Coach Shoots Two Attackers, Saves Two Females & Himself A 70-year-old woman's basketball coach was attacked in the parking lot at Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School in Detroit, MI while walking two players to their cars. The men were armed, but so was the coach. The suspects approached the coach and the girls and one pulled out their gun. The coach quickly pulled out his gun and shot both suspects. One died and the other was taken to a local hospital. Both suspects attended the high school and one was recently expelled. Both girls and the coach were unharmed. The coach has a permit to carry and is cooperating with authorities. But this raises an important question to those who want more gun control. What would have happened to this 70-year-old man and two young females if he did not have his gun? Armed citizens save lives. Because of his gun the coach and two girls are still alive.      I'm one of those people still not sure what happened at Sandy Hook school, did the shooting actually happen or was it a "false flag" event ? I started to think more about the Boston bombing. I'm not saying that people weren't hurt, I saw that on live TV. What I wonder about are the events that took place afterwards. After who was responsible was determined, the pursuit was started. My question..how many law officers does it take to apprehend two young terrorists? Just from memory  they had.....Boston police......state police.....FBI.....DHS......Justice dept.....and I think some National guard. No idea how many of each, but collectively must have been thousands. This is where I have a problem.....Did they need all of these officers AND equipment to catch two inexperienced fugitives ? was this a show of force? Demonstrating to the public that martial law is a heartbeat away, that any uprising of the people can quickly be dealt with. I'm sure our "elected" officials are aware of the talk of resistance to having our second amendment rights taken away, was this done to show their power? I also watched video of a house being searched for the fugitive, where the "police" entered a house,without warrents, and made the residents leave with their hands up or on their heads, like they were the criminals. The police knew what the fugitive looked like, so this treatment was unnecessary and illegal Again, is this what we can look forward to ? A police state under the dictatorship of Obama ??? PAPPY

Obama CUT Domestic Bomb Prevention Budget by 45%

The Obama Administration cut the budget for domestic bomb prevention by 45%, according to former Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Infrastructure Protection Robert Liscouski. 
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Liscouski said under President George W. Bush the Department of Homeland Security allocated $20 million for thwarting domestic use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) by terrorists. Under Obama, the funding has fallen to $11 million.
By contrast, says Liscouski, “the Defense Department's Joint IED Defeat Organization had a budget of $1 billion per year focused on preventing IEDs in the Iraq and Afghanistan theaters. Clearly more money needs to be focused on countering domestic IEDs.”
As recently as February of this year, Obama released a document titled "Countering Improvised Explosive Devices," wherein the president declared his commitment to stopping IED use by terrorists.
“Our capabilities to counter IEDs have evolved and grown,” wrote Obama in an introductory letter included in the report. “We must not become complacent.”

In a Rose Garden statement in the aftermath of his failure to persuade the Senate to move on any of his gun control proposals, the president raged, Lear-like, against his opponents. It was a rather unpleasant mix–one part petulance and two parts anger.
In the course of his outburst, the president said this:

I’ve heard folks say that having the families of victims lobby for this legislation was somehow misplaced.  “A prop,” somebody called them.  “Emotional blackmail,” some outlet said.  Are they serious?  Do we really think that thousands of families whose lives have been shattered by gun violence don’t have a right to weigh in on this issue?  Do we think their emotions, their loss is not relevant to this debate? So all in all, this was a pretty shameful day for Washington.

The Left Has Spoken: Exploits Boston Bombing to Push Against Second Amendment

Even in a time of tragedy, people are allowed opinions. The world does not stop for grief and the business of government must continue. However, I object to the gruesome exploitation of tragedy that has, sadly, become an all-too-familiar aspect of the left’s rhetoric. Each time a tragedy occurs, the left pounces on the occasion to push their agenda in the most disgusting manner possible. For months, President Obama and the rest of the left has been parading around the poor families of the Sandy Hook victims and exploiting their loss for reprehensible political gains. Senate stops Dems effort to limit ammunition

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate has voted to kill an effort to prohibit ammunition magazines that can carry more than 10 rounds.
The proposal was one of the responses to the Newtown, Conn., elementary school massacre that were advanced by President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats. They argued it was a way of reducing the likelihood that shooters could cause large numbers of casualties.
Such ammunition magazines were found at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown and have been involved in some other mass shootings as well.
Opponents have said large ammunition magazines play a small role in gun violence.
The proposal attracted 46 "yes" votes Wednesday, well short of the 60 votes needed for passage. It was sponsored by Democratic Sens. Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate has rejected a bipartisan effort to expand federal background checks to more firearms buyers in a crucial showdown over gun control.

Wednesday's vote was a jarring blow to the drive to curb firearms sparked by December's massacre of children and staff at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn. President Barack Obama made broadened background checks the centerpiece of his gun control proposals.

The roll call was also a victory for the National Rifle Association, which opposed the plan as an ineffective infringement on gun rights.

The proposal would have required background checks for all transactions at gun shows and online. Currently they must occur for sales handled by licensed gun dealers.

The system is designed to keep criminals and people with mental problems from getting guns.

Few in U.S. See Guns, Immigration as Nation's Top Problems

The economy and jobs continue to be named as most important U.S. problems

PRINCETON, NJ -- Few Americans mention guns or immigration as the most important problems facing the nation today, despite the current attention lawmakers in Washington are giving to these issues. The economy still dominates as the top concern, followed by jobs and dissatisfaction with the general way in which Congress and the government work.

These data, from an April 4-7 survey, underscore the prominence of economic issues in Americans' minds, even as the economy continues its recovery from the recessionary depths of 2008.
In terms of specific economic issues, Americans most frequently name the economy in general (24%), jobs/unemployment (18%), and the deficit (11%). The percentage mentioning each of these economic issues is in the same broad range as has been the case each month this year so far, although a higher 20% mentioned the deficit as the nation's top problem in January.
From a longer-term perspective, top-of-mind mentions of these economic issues are down significantly from their five-year highs. A high of 58% mentioned the economy as the nation's top problem in November 2008, and 39% named jobs as the No. 1 issue in September 2011.

Kerry says our "gun problem" is scaring away foreign students. ??

Citing the declining number of foreign students coming to the United States, secretary of state John Kerry argued that guns in America are frightening them away. In an interview with CNN’s foreign affairs correspondent Jill Dougherty in Tokyo, Kerry said that Japanese students in particular “think they’re not safe in the United States and so they don’t come.” 

Kerry contended that Japanese youth feel safer in their country, which has highly restrictive gun-control policies, and “where people are not running around with guns.” 

CNN notes however, that “International study is down markedly among Japanese students to all destinations, including the United States. Experts have attributed the decline to Japan’s low birthrate, the expense of foreign study in a poor economy, and a desire among Japanese young people to remain at home rather than venture to other countries.”

It's a shame "anonymous" won't do more than just attacking WBC's website.......

First responders were still on the scene at Boston's devastated Copley Square when fringe hate group Westboro Baptist Church announced it would be picketing the funeral of Boston Marathon bombing victims.
   

THANK GOD FOR THE BOSTON MARATHON BOMBS!! Westboro Baptist Church to picket funerals of those killed.  

  In the message, the group states that "Massachusetts invited this special wrath from God Almighty when it was the first state to pass same-sex marriage on May 17, 2004."

However, hacktivist group Anonymous made it very clear that if the WBC tried anything in Boston, they would feel the full fury of the online community.

WBC, an anti-gay, anti-Semitic group, has made a name for itself as an ambassador of the offensive. Throughout the past few years, the Kansas-based group has threatened to picket everything, including the funerals of victims of the Tucson Ariz., shooting,  as well as those of American soldiers and the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre.

After the group threatened to picket in Newtown, Conn., Anonymous launched a full-fledged attack on the WBC, publishing group members' personal information online, overtaking the group's main website.

Tell me again why the government wants to ban AR_15s ?

     At about 11:30 today, the police commissioner of Philadelphia {Charles Ramsey] gave a press conference regarding a missing AR-16, [a fully automatic assault rifle] These weapons were given to Philly by the U S army, they are Viet Nam era rifles. They were in the vault awaiting conversion to semi-automatic so they can be used by the Phila. police. They are kept in a gun vault at the Phila. police academy in northeast Phila. According to Ramsey, only a limited number of people have the combination and access to this vault. For some reason there is no video surveillance of this vault room.
      What struck me about this press conference was that he gave some statistics about crime in Philadelphia, stating that assault weapons are only 2% of the shootings in philly.and trust me , there are a lot of shootings .
