Crimea Crisis: Russia Tells U.S. To Chill Out, 'Practice Yoga'

MOSCOW -- Russia’s deputy foreign minister accused the U.S. of having "childish tantrums” in response to the annexation of Crimea and joked Thursday that Americans should “practice yoga” and watch sitcoms in order to help them chill out.

Sergey Ryabkov said the decision to end all military cooperation with Russia and remove it from the G-8 group of nations showed that Washington was opposed “to the free will of the population of Crimea.”

In an interview with state news agency Interfax, Ryabkov said the U.S. was struggling to “come to terms” with Russia’s move to bring Ukraine’s Black Sea peninsula under its control.

In the latest break in relations, NASA on Wednesday said it was severing ties with Russia except for the International Space Station.

Ryabkov said: “What can we suggest to our American colleagues? To spend more time outdoors, practice yoga, separate their food groups and perhaps watch comedies on television.”

That would be better than getting worked up, he said, because the situation will not change and "childish tantrums, tears and hysterics will not help matters."

Despite all the hoopla from the Administration and its media shills about how wonderful it is that a certain, arbitrary number of American citizens have “signed up” for ObamaCare by particular benchmark dates, the fact remains this federal law is rotten from start to finish. It remains one of those rare pieces of legislation that contains on balance not one positive provision; not a single worthwhile crossed “t” or dotted “i.”
Still, we taxpayers continue to pay billions for ObamaCare’s implementation, even as it forces millions of citizens into healthcare plans that do not meet their needs and into relationships with doctors not of their choice. As the finest healthcare system on the planet unravels and burns because of ObamaCare, our generation’s Nero fiddles and bloviates about how great it is, and how “easy-peasey” it is to become an ObamaCare member, in the childish phraseology of Valerie Jarrett, one of the President’s key advisers.
In the 2013 edition of his annual Wastebook, Republican Sen. Tom Coburn lists the year’s most wasteful government programs, all funded by taxpayer dollars. Some of these programs range from tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars -- such as $390,000 spent by NASA to dress a man in a green costume to teach kids about global warming on YouTube. Others -- like the $65 million in federal relief funds for Hurricane Sandy spent by state and local politicians on tourism-related television ads -- reach nine figures and beyond. The point of the Wastebook is to illustrate by concrete examples the amount of federal waste occurring every day, all across America.

Reports of a Shooting on Fort Hood

KCEN) -- We have reports of a shooting on Fort Hood.
There are reports of one dead and at least eight wounded, four of them critically injured.
According to NBC News from a military official, the Fort Hood shooter is 'down' and he appears to be only gunman.

Scott & White Hospital have confirmed that they are getting injured patients from this shooting.
We are also getting reports of victims in the Battle Simulation Center on 65th and Warehouse.
The shooter was said to be, at one point, in building 33026 which is the Medical Brigade Building.
Reports have said that the shooter was driving a gray Toyota, described as a white male in an Army Combat Uniform, and carrying a .45 handgun.
Fort Hood has been put on lockdown.
Central Texas College has been evacuated only as a precaution.

We just received a very interesting question from a college student.

Hello, My name is [redacted]. I currently go to Florida Gulf Coast University. This week in one of my classes I was given the question,”Rewrite the Second Amendment to address contemporary concerns.” Now being the Facebook user that I am, I do not use it to much, I wanted to get your opinion on this question because I have liked this page for some while now and was just wondering how you all would go on about answering this.

I think that is a very interesting question, worthy of discussion. I also suspect that I’ll reach a far different conclusion than the instructor of this class was likely hoping to reach.
The Second Amendment was very clear as written to the Founders, but the language then in common use is archaic now. My “contemporary concern” is one of language clarification for a modern audience while still maintaining original intent.     READ ARTICLE

The presidential couple has constructed an exploratory committee to determine the funding and operational assistance that will be required for Michelle’s upcoming campaign.

 If the idea of another four to eight years with an Obama presidency is physically painful, and unfortunately, very possible.
 
“I’ve loved living in the political spotlight over the past five years, but I’d like to take on a larger role in the government of our great nation,” Mrs. Obama told reporters. “I would genuinely love to be president.”
 
Michelle Obama also hinted that her “hubby” would be on the ticket for a third election cycle. “We’ve come so far together under Barack’s presidency. What better way for him to continue to represent this country than by becoming my vice president?” Michelle asked.
 
The White House speculated that the first lady’s campaign would be operated by the same personnel who ran Barack’s campaigns in 2008 and 2012. While Barack had a difficult time beating out his Republican opponents, Michelle will need to win the Democratic nominee over Hillary Clinton before she can run for the Oval Office.

A day before April Fool’s Day, a government watch dog released its most recent assessment of how the Defense Department is spending an eye-popping $1.5 trillion – that’s 11 zeros – on major weapons systems.
While the multi-year, total cost of the programs is staggering — $1.5 trillion is the total GDP of Australia – the report from the Government Accountability Office noted that the major defense project profile for 2013 was down $200 billion from 2010 and is at its lowest point in almost the last decade.
The Pentagon has also gotten better about reducing cost in its acquisition process, the report said, although many projects still suffer from delays and stumble well over budget. Pentagon weapons buyers also still “accept risk” by putting programs into production before they have fully been tested.
In past years, a prime example of both dangers is the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the most expensive weapons system in history. The plan to buy the fighter plane — what the Air Force said would become the “backbone” of American air dominance — was so poorly conceived it amounted to “acquisition malpractice” as the Pentagon’s top acquisitions official said in 2012.

"Whiteface, if you look it up and Google it, it's a ski slope up in upstate New York," Cannon said today on " Good Morning America." "I don't really know what that is."
Cannon, who released the photo to promote his first album in more than a decade, "White People Party Music," said comparisons of his "character impression" to blackface are inaccurate.
"Blackface is a term that was created in 1869 to describe offensive minstrel shows," Cannon, who's married to singer Mariah Carey, said. "I was doing a character impression. I like Nick Cannon, but this interview is BULL. He doesn't know what "whiteface" is? Was he born under a rock? His statements I highlighted in yellow above, to me mean: "It's O K for me to do, but NOT for you". "Blackface" wasn't done to be offensive, it was an art form. Remember Al Jolson? I think this was started in Vaudeville, just something different.... Anyone remember "Amos and Andy"? That show was stereotypical of blacks at that time, and they were BLACK actors, no problem with that?      Amid ongoing high-level diplomatic talks between the United States and Iran, it's a symbol of underlying mistrust.
Commercial satellite images obtained by CNN reveal that Iran is constructing a large-scale replica of a U.S. military aircraft carrier, complete with fake U.S-style airplanes, near the southern port city of Bandar Abbas.
     The mock supercarrier seems to have been modeled off of an American Nimitz-class (CVN 68) carrier, down to the number "68" painted on the flight deck, though its intended use remains a mystery.
     According to one U.S. official, the mock-up is more akin to a Hollywood set than an actual warship.

Maine man does c-section on porcupine roadkill, saves baby

LISBON, Maine - A Maine man in search of a valuable mineral cut open a dead porcupine on the side of the road and unexpectedly pulled out its baby.
Jared Buzzell, of Lisbon, says he was searching for wild mushrooms Thursday when he saw a porcupine get hit by a car in Minot. Buzzell says he'd heard that a valuable mineral deposit used in Chinese medicine formed in the stomachs of porcupines.
He then cut open the dead porcupine to search for the mineral and instead found the baby.
He tells WMTW-TV he cut the umbilical cord and thought the baby porcupine was dead until he started massaging it and it began breathing.
Buzzell is caring for the baby at home and plans to give it to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.

Willie Robertson Wants to Take Obama Hunting

After listening to the Laura Ingraham radio show earlier this week, perhaps President Obama better get his hunting gear ready. Willie Robertson of Duck Dynasty was a guest on the show and expressed interest in having President Obama for a visit to go hunting. Now that would be quite the sight!

On the show, Willie told Laura that President Obama is the Democratic politician he most wants to go shooting with. He said,

“I’d like to talk, and debate, and find out what’s going on in his brain a little more,” Robertson said. “That’s kind of my philosophy. I don’t shy away from people I disagree with — I want to know why they do what they do, and if you can move to change their thinking in some ways.”

Although Willie has already met the president before, Robertson would like to spend even more time with the Obama. He said, “I’d like to get him out there with some camouflage and a gun, and we could sit out there and talk.”
I wonder if the president will hear about this and take him up on his offer! I have a feeling I know the answer to that question…
