Personally, I think this WAR on the NRA should be shelved, at least until we find out why... the FBI and the Broward cunty sheriffs dept. and Coral Springs police dept. Without context, twin announcements from Delta and United airlines on Saturday morning might look trivial: The end of flight discounts to the NRA’s annual convention, which few outside the gun rights organization likely knew existed before they became boycott targets.

But in abandoning the NRA, the airlines followed car rental giants Avis, Hertz and Enterprise, the Best Western hotel chain, the global insurance company MetLife, and more than a dozen other corporations that have severed affiliations with the gun group in the last two days.

In a statement released Saturday afternoon, the NRA accused companies of “a shameful display of political and civic cowardice.”

CBS Los Angeles featured Hogg as the eyewitness and videographer of a testy encounter between Hogg, a veteran Redondo Beach, Calif., lifeguard and a surfer, who was reportedly Hogg’s friend, in August of 2017.

MURRYSVILLE (KDKA/AP) – At least 24 people have been injured in a stabbing at Franklin Regional High School in Murrysville.
The attack occurred in crowded hallways just minutes before the start of school.
Westmoreland County updated the victim count late Wednesday evening, saying 24 people had been injured. (21 students stabbed, 1 security guard stabbed, and 2 others injured)
At least five students were critically wounded, including a boy who was on a ventilator after a knife pierced his liver, missing his heart and aorta by only millimeters, doctors said. An injured school officer was discharged.
A school security guard called in the stabbing at 7:13 a.m.
Witnesses said the boy with the knives at first tackled a freshman and stabbed him in the belly, then got up and ran wildly down the hall, slashing other students.

She was murdered last week, and she was taken from us, shot nine times on the third floor. We as a country failed our children. This shouldn’t happen. And we need come together as a country and work on what’s important.

And that is protecting our children in the schools. That’s the only thing that matters right now. Everyone has to come together and not think about different laws. We need to come together as a country, not different parties, and figure out how we protect the schools. It is simple.

It is not difficult. We protect airports. We protect concerts, stadiums, embassies. The Department of Education that I walked in today that has a security guard in the elevator. How do you think that makes me feel? In the elevator they got a security guard. I’m very angry that this happened, because it keeps happening.

9/11 happened once, and they fixed everything. How many schools, how many children have to get shot? It stops here with this administration and me. I’m not going to sleep until it is fixed. And Mr. President, we’re going to fix it. Because I’m going to fix it. I’m not going to rest.

And my boys need live with this. I want to see everyone — you guys look at this. Me, I’m — I’m a man, but to see your children go through this, bury their sister. That’s what I keep saying because I want to sink in. Not forget about this. We can’t forget about it.

All these school shootings, it doesn’t make sense. Fix it.

Should have been one school shooting and we should have fixed it. And I’m pissed. Because my daughter I’m not going to see again. She’s not here. She’s not here. She’s in North Lauderdale at … King David Cemetery. That is where I go to see my kid now.

And if we all work together and come up with the right idea — school safety. It is not about gun laws. That is another fight, another battle. Let’s fix the schools and then you guys can battle it out whatever you want. But we need our children safe. Monday, tomorrow, whatever day it is, your kids are going to go to school. I didn’t think it was going to happen to me. If I knew that, I would have been at the school every day if I knew it was that dangerous. It’s enough. The armed deputy who was on the campus of Stoneman Douglas High School during a shooting rampage that left 17 dead on Feb. 14 stood outside the building where it occurred and did not go in to engage the shooter, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said on Thursday.

Scott Peterson, who was the school resource officer at Stoneman Douglas, stood outside the building as the shootings took place, Israel told reporters. Peterson resigned from the department on Thursday after being told he would be suspended, Israel said. He did not say if Peterson would face criminal charges. A recent threat to commit a shooting at El Camino High School in South Whittier was thwarted thanks to a safety officer who overheard the "disgruntled" student and alerted authorities, and a cache of weapons was found at the teen's home, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said Wednesday.

The incident took place last Friday, just two days after a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, left 17 people dead.

Deputies from the Norwalk Sheriff's Station responded to the high school, located at 14625 Keese Drive, to investigate a criminal threats call, a news release from the department stated.

When they arrived, deputies learned a school security officer overheard the student "threaten the occurrence of a shooting at the school," the release read.

SACRAMENTO — California Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia took a voluntary unpaid leave of absence Friday, a day after sexual misconduct allegations against her became public. Garcia, a Democrat and chair of the Legislative Women's Caucus, is accused of
groping former legislative staff member Daniel Fierro in 2014, an allegation she denies. He reported the claim in January and it is now under formal investigation. Garcia said she's taking leave to avoid distractions and any appearance of influence over the investigation.

"Upon reflection of the details alleged, I am certain I did not engage in the behavior I am accused of," Garcia said in a statement. "However, as I've said before, any claims about sexual harassment must be taken seriously, and I believe elected officials should be held to a higher standard of accountability. "

Fierro did not comment on Garcia' decision. He's accused her of stroking his back, grabbing his buttocks and trying to grab his crotch in the dugout after a legislative softball game. An anonymous male lobbyist told Politico on Thursday that Garcia made a crude sexual remark and tried to grab his crotch at a May 2017 fundraiser.

Despite insisting in the past that male politicians resign immediately over allegations, Democratic Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia has refused to leave without a fight.

Garcia had authored many sexual assault bills in California government and covered in Time Magazine's "Person of the Year" issue that honored the #MeToo movement.

But since then, the liberal lawmaker has been accused by multiple men of sexual misconduct.

Daniel Fierro, who worked at the California State Capitol, claimed that Garcia cornered him at a staff softball game – groping his buttocks and, as he tried to turn away, grabbed his crotch.

David Kernick, who worked as a field representative for Garcia, also claimed that she approached him at a fundraiser and asked him to play "spin the bottle" with her in her hotel room. Garcia told his superiors about Garcia's inappropriate suggestion and lost his job two days later.

Another accuser, who has not released his name publicly, also claimed Garcia groped him, after making a graphic sexual proposal.

Several staffers have also claimed that Garcia would inappropriately talk about sex at work and would drink on the job.

Garcia has denied all of the allegations and adamantly refuses to resign. However, she has currently been placed on unpaid leave with the California State Assembly while the investigation into her alleged impropriety continues.
