Tucker Carlson eloquently demolished the indentity politics of Stacy Abrams State of the Union rebuttal, Monday.
Daily Caller has more:
One day after Abrams gave the Democratic rebuttal to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, the Fox News host downplayed her speech, but called attention to the Foreign Affairs piece as “far more interesting” for those who “want to understand what the Democratic Party seeks for this country.”
“By embracing identity … Americans will become more likely to grow as one,” quoted Carlson, from a phrase found at the end of Abrams’ article.
“Ponder that, the less we have in common, the more united we will be,” Carlson said. “Is that true? Of course not. It’s absurd. Even Stacey Abrams doesn’t really believe it. Nobody does. Abrams doesn’t even bother to defend that premise, much less explain how exactly identity politics will unite this country.”
The Fox News host contended that Abrams isn’t interested in “united,” but rather “bitter division.”
DID WE ELECT THE RIGHT MAN ..? MLKs... daughter and niece seem to think so, or at least OK with him....
Below is a transcript of Alveda King’s remarks from Fox & Friends on Saturday:
Fox & Friends Host: “Your uncle fought real racism at home certainly, and
throughout much of this country and made real change. What is it, when everything is racist, when that is the word now that everybody paints everything with that they don’t like, does nothing become racist? Does it in some way sort of cheapen what your uncle fought so much to defend against and to stop?”
King: “Well, I believe Rachel just put it st, and by the way, good morning everyone. Fox & Friends, thank you for being on it with real news and not fake news.
“So, to answer your question: Absolutely. Racism is just a word that’s being bandied and thrown about and thrown at the president, in my opinion, unjustly. President Trump is not a racist.
“I’ve been with the president recently quite a bit, and when he signed the legislation [proclamation] making the historic site, Martin Luther King site, in Atlanta, Georgia a national park. It was introduced by Congressman John Lewis, and that, believe it or not is one thing the two of them did together. It took two to do it, and I’m so glad the president has done it.
“But what is so outrageous, to call a man a racist, who continues to acknowledge the significant work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Reverend, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., my uncle, in a positive way. And he puts his money where his mouth is. He puts his energy behind it.”
The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter, Bernice King has written a letter in support of legislation proposed by President Donald Trump.
It read as follows.
In 1963, while incarcerated in Birmingham, my father, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., challenged the conscience of America when he penned these words “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.” My father wanted us to understand our interrelatedness in addressing social inequalities that infringe on human being’s ability to live a life of dignity.
We are closing 2018 with an opportunity to take a monumental “FIRST STEP” towards assisting and empowering the least of these in America. In the hands of our chosen servant leaders of Congress is the FIRST STEP for Criminal Justice Reform Act that begins to address some serious flaws in America’s criminal justice system.

The call to wear white for Trump’s speech was devised by the House’s Democratic Women’s Working Group and will be a symbol of “the ongoing fight to attain equal rights for all women,” members said. The move is a nod to the women’s suffrage movement,
which encouraged followers to dress in white as a symbol of purity.
Unfortunately, it also drew a rash of sarcastic comments and unflattering memes.

This is a pretty LONG article, but worth reading. Even though it's CBS, from what I already know, the article SEEMS to be genuine and TRUE ....!!
Richard Burr on the Senate Intelligence Committee's Russia investigation, 2 years on Olivia Gazis CBS NEWS
New insight into the Senate's Russia investigation
For almost as long, the inquiry, led by Republican Chairman Richard Burr of North Carolina and Vice Chairman Mark Warner, a Virginia Democrat, has been held up as the last bastion of bipartisanship in Washington.
After a parallel investigation divided the House Intelligence Committee last year, the Senate's probe has been under intense pressure to offer a single set of findings.
Burr, who is known in Senate hallways for his preference to go sockless and the two-fingered hook that often bears his jacket, has spoken little about the probe he leads. But he thinks deeply about how its conclusions should be presented. And he acknowledges now that the investigation is broader, and perhaps more consequential, than it has long been thought to be.
"I'm not going to tell you that what we set out to do — which was to understand what happened in '16 — is what's extended the life of the investigation," Burr said in a rare interview with CBS News. "I think it's a better understanding of what happened and how coordinated and organized the effort was."
He spoke in his second-floor chambers in the Russell Senate Office Building, where multiple deer mounts circle the ceiling and a non-working fireplace is stacked with real wood. Burr, 63, had angled himself in a worn leather chair, legs extended, and tented his fingers around the edges of a coffee cup. He spoke quietly, with occasional long pauses as he considered his responses.
"We'll be judged at the end of this on the product that we produce," he said solemnly. "We'll also be judged on the process that we chose ... None of us ever anticipated that this would be two years."
For now, Burr appears to have arrived at his answer. "If we write a report based upon the facts that we have, then we don't have anything that would suggest there was collusion by the Trump campaign and Russia," he said.

Of all the GOP candidates Trump ran against, Ted Cruz seems to be the only one standing up for and with President Trump
Public opinion has replaced right and wrong as the measure of acceptable behavior in our political and civic debates. Similarly, public ridicule and shame have replaced facts and logic as the tools of persuasive discourse. Much like a Medieval Inquisition, the arbiters of liberal dogma have effectively established a system designed to eliminate debate and impose conformity.
Members of the media, and high profile elected officials, have adopted the role of modern day inquisitors, operating as liberal morality police. Facts are irrelevant in this brave new world of double standards where objectivity has been replaced by social media mobs. For those who step out of bounds, or dare to oppose them, discipline is delivered swiftly and without mercy.
According to a 1578 edition of a standard inquisitorial manual entitled Directorium Inquisitorum, “punishment does not take place primarily and per se for the correction and good of the person punished, but for the public good in order that others may become terrified and weaned away from the evils they would commit.”
Recent events in New York, Virginia, and Washington DC serve as examples. Governor Ralph Northam of Virginia recently rose to national prominence for suggesting during a radio interview that an abortion could take place AFTER a baby is born. Under an objective standard of right and wrong, his statements would be easily identified as wicked, and he would have been under immense pressure to step down. Instead, the liberal inquisitors defended Northam from those who dared to call his immoral statement for what it is.
Contrast that to the reaction several days later when it was revealed that Northam chose an overtly racist picture to include in his medical school yearbook. It’s worth noting the difference, not because Northam’s racist yearbook picture didn’t deserve to be criticized, but because it is apparently more offensive to the liberal inquisitors to mock or threaten racial minorities than it is to advocate for their murder as infants.
Both are wrong, and ought to be unacceptable in our society. Sadly, they are not.

Virginia is not alone. The Governor of New York recently signed a bill that legalizes abortion up until the moment of birth, calling it “a historic victory for New Yorkers and for our progressive values.” Advocates of child murder filled the chamber and cheered passage of the law. New York landmarks were lit pink that evening to celebrate passage of the bill.
In Washington, Ted joined with 39 of his Senate colleagues to propose legislation that would offer protections to babies who survive an abortion. The idea that a baby born alive ought to receive any and all necessary medical attention should sail through a Congress with a conscience. However, the common-sense legislation has been blocked in the Senate by Sen. Patty Murray.
We live in a society where emotion has replaced reason, where opinions overrule objectivity, where evil is called good, and good evil. As Benjamin Franklin once said, “only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”
Now is not the time to disengage, or to allow our frustration over the current situation to overwhelm us. Instead, now is the time when history will record the faithfulness or failure of American patriots to demand a return to our founding principles. Thank you for standing with Ted as he stands for us in the Senate.
