Crimea, said Putin, "is the location of ancient Khersones, where Prince Vladimir was baptized. His spiritual feat of adopting Orthodoxy predetermined the overall basis of the culture, civilization and human values that unite the peoples of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus."

If you are as sick of having Obama as our president as I am, then you should definitely check out the piece written by Michael Goodwin over at the New York Post. This is a pretty damning, but overall very accurate and articulate, summary of Obama and his time in office.
Do you remember way back to candidate Obama? Myself, and a lot of other conservatives thought that he was a poor choice simply because he had not accomplished anything worthwhile. He had never run a company, never had to meet payroll, deal with government regulations, and even his time in political office had accomplished very little. In fact, he used each successive office as a platform and springboard to run for the next highest position.
   Now Obama is into his sixth year as president. Yet, he still continues to blame Bush for his own failings. This is rather obscene at this point, and hiding behind Bush or racism shows a lack of character. Nothing Obama has done or put into place has worked as promised, either. In fact, given his record, there is really no reason to think that anything will get better. His flippant remarks like the fact that he worries about a ‘nuclear weapon going off in Manhattan’ shows how his own leadership is pretty much directionless…this should be something that a president is working behind the scenes with his team to avoid.

On U.S. military bases, only military police and security personnel are allowed to carry weapons. Yesterday during the second attack in five years at Ft. Hood, soldiers were forced to run from a violent and armed perpetrator killing their friends. They desperately climbed fences trying to get away until finally, after three people were killed and more than a dozen were wounded, a female military police officer confronted the man shooting with her own gun. As soon as he saw her draw her weapon, the perpetrator put his gun to his head and killed himself.
Now, survivors from the 2009 Ft. Hood attack and soldiers on base yesterday are calling for an end to the military's no weapons policy.

"When our soldiers are unarmed, they will find themselves in a situation like yesterday and in 2009," Sgt. Howard Ray, a survivor of the 2009 mass shooting in which 13 people were killed, told Fox News.         STORY

Fort Hood Shooter Bought Weapon From Same Gun Shop Tied to 2009 Rampage

The Fort Hood shooter bought his gun at the same Texas gun shop where the 2009 gunman purchased his, law enforcement sources told NBC News.

Guns Galore in Killeen turned over information to the feds, presumably over the .45-caliber Smith & Wesson semiautomatic pistol used in Wednesday’s shooting.

Employee Greg Ebert declined to say what information was provided, but told NBC News that the shop would have any relevant security footage because “everything here’s recorded.”

Guns Galore is open for business the morning after in Killeen, Texas, Thursday, April 4, 2014. Ivan Lopez purchased the .45 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun he used in the shooting from Guns Galore, the same shop Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan where purchased the firearm he used in the 2009 Fort Hood massacre.

The shooter, identified as 34-year-old Spc. Ivan Lopez, killed at least three people and injured 16 before turning the gun on himself.

A military official told reporters late Wednesday that Lopez bought the gun locally, and it wasn’t registered with authorities on the base. Since Lopez lived off the post, officials couldn’t compel him to register the firearm.

The convicted 2009 shooter, Nidal Hasan, purchased an FN 5-7 tactical pistol legally from Guns Galore. He also had 16 magazines packed with 420 rounds of ammunition.

When asked about Guns Galore’s role in the Fort Hood shootings, Ebert told NBC News that the store’s owners, “just didn't want all that attention all over again.”

MOSCOW -- Russia’s deputy foreign minister accused the U.S. of having "childish tantrums” in response to the annexation of Crimea and joked Thursday that Americans should “practice yoga” and watch sitcoms in order to help them chill out.

Sergey Ryabkov said the decision to end all military cooperation with Russia and remove it from the G-8 group of nations showed that Washington was opposed “to the free will of the population of Crimea.”

Ryabkov said: “What can we suggest to our American colleagues? To spend more time outdoors, practice yoga, separate their food groups and perhaps watch comedies on television.”

That would be better than getting worked up, he said, because the situation will not change and "childish tantrums, tears and hysterics will not help matters."

It remains one of those rare pieces of legislation that contains on balance not one positive provision; not a single worthwhile crossed “t” or dotted “i.”
Still, we taxpayers continue to pay billions for ObamaCare’s implementation, even as it forces millions of citizens into healthcare plans that do not meet their needs and into relationships with doctors not of their choice. As the finest healthcare system on the planet unravels and burns because of ObamaCare, our generation’s Nero fiddles and bloviates about how great it is, and how “easy-peasey” it is to become an ObamaCare member, in the childish phraseology of Valerie Jarrett, one of the President’s key advisers.
In the 2013 edition of his annual Wastebook, Republican Sen. Tom Coburn lists the year’s most wasteful government programs, all funded by taxpayer dollars. Some of these programs range from tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars -- such as $390,000 spent by NASA to dress a man in a green costume to teach kids about global warming on YouTube. Others -- like the $65 million in federal relief funds for Hurricane Sandy spent by state and local politicians on tourism-related television ads -- reach nine figures and beyond. The point of the Wastebook is to illustrate by concrete examples the amount of federal waste occurring every day, all across America.

Reports of a Shooting on Fort Hood

KCEN) -- We have reports of a shooting on Fort Hood.
There are reports of one dead and at least eight wounded, four of them critically injured.
According to NBC News from a military official, the Fort Hood shooter is 'down' and he appears to be only gunman.

Scott & White Hospital have confirmed that they are getting injured patients from this shooting.
We are also getting reports of victims in the Battle Simulation Center on 65th and Warehouse.
The shooter was said to be, at one point, in building 33026 which is the Medical Brigade Building.
Reports have said that the shooter was driving a gray Toyota, described as a white male in an Army Combat Uniform, and carrying a .45 handgun.
Fort Hood has been put on lockdown.
Central Texas College has been evacuated only as a precaution.

We just received a very interesting question from a college student.

Hello, My name is [redacted]. I currently go to Florida Gulf Coast University. This week in one of my classes I was given the question,”Rewrite the Second Amendment to address contemporary concerns.” Now being the Facebook user that I am, I do not use it to much, I wanted to get your opinion on this question because I have liked this page for some while now and was just wondering how you all would go on about answering this.

I think that is a very interesting question, worthy of discussion. I also suspect that I’ll reach a far different conclusion than the instructor of this class was likely hoping to reach.
The Second Amendment was very clear as written to the Founders, but the language then in common use is archaic now. My “contemporary concern” is one of language clarification for a modern audience while still maintaining original intent.     READ ARTICLE

The news from the White House this morning will make you cringe.    Political analysts have determined that no Democrat could ever beat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential race, but they forgot about particular woman.

On April 1, the White House announced First Lady Michelle Obama will eye a run for the presidency in 2016 and that Barack will run as her vice presidential candidate. The presidential couple has constructed an exploratory committee to determine the funding and operational assistance that will be required for Michelle’s upcoming campaign.

 If the idea of another four to eight years with an Obama presidency is physically painful, and unfortunately, very possible.
 
“I’ve loved living in the political spotlight over the past five years, but I’d like to take on a larger role in the government of our great nation,” Mrs. Obama told reporters. “I would genuinely love to be president.”
 
Michelle Obama also hinted that her “hubby” would be on the ticket for a third election cycle. “We’ve come so far together under Barack’s presidency. What better way for him to continue to represent this country than by becoming my vice president?” Michelle asked.
 
The White House speculated that the first lady’s campaign would be operated by the same personnel who ran Barack’s campaigns in 2008 and 2012. While Barack had a difficult time beating out his Republican opponents, Michelle will need to win the Democratic nominee over Hillary Clinton before she can run for the Oval Office.
