During President Trump's address to the nation about the Iran missile strike on US forces, President Trump made a bold statement. Trump claimed that the missiles were paid for by the cash that Obama sent to the country in appeasement.

According to Fox News:

President Trump took direct aim at former President Barack Obama on Wednesday, blaming the last administration for giving Iran money that he claimed was then used by Tehran to pay for missiles that were aimed at U.S. troops in Iraq.

“The missiles fired last night at us and our allies were paid for with the funds made available by the last administration,” Trump said from the White House, referring to settlement money the U.S. paid to Iran in 2016.

In his remarks, he pointed the finger at the Obama-era Iran nuclear deal, or Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA) from which the U.S. withdrew in 2018. While supporters of the deal claimed it kept Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, Trump on Wednesday renewed his assertion that it emboldened Tehran.

“Iran's hostilities substantially increased after the foolish Iran nuclear deal was signed in 2013, and they were given $150 billion, not to mention $1.8 billion in cash,” he said. “Instead of saying thank you to the United States, they chanted 'Death to America.'” President Trump did say that he would be willing to negotiate a new deal with Iran moving forward but also warned that new sanctions would be levied if the Iranians did not change their ways.

That means the only Democratic candidates polling high are those condemned as old white people -- two men and one woman, Elizabeth Warren.

Lindsey Graham Drops Deadline On Pelosi – If Nancy Misses It, He Will Change The Rules   By Adam Casalino  |January 7, 2020

Sen. Lindsey Graham is fed up with Nancy Pelosi’s games.

He is a staunch ally of the president and a strong supporter of our laws. So you can imagine how upset he is to see the Democrats making a mockery of the Constitution and our government.

Pelosi is demanding that the Senate hold a “fair” trial (one where they do whatever she tells them to do). But at the same time, she refuses to obey the law and send over the articles of impeachment.

Graham has had enough. The Senate must carry out their duty and end this impeachment sham. He’s giving Pelosi a deadline.

If she does not meet it, the Senate will do it their way.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., insisted Sunday that if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi does not deliver articles of impeachment against President Trump to the Senate by the end of the week, the Senate should “take matters in our own hands.”

“What I would do, if she continues to refuse to send the articles as required by the Constitution, I would work with Senator McConnell to change the rules of the Senate so we could start the trial without her, if necessary,” Graham proposed

Boom. Graham slammed Pelosi for her ongoing games. He set a deadline for the end of this week for her to send over the articles.

If not, he and McConnell will change the rules so the Senate can start the trial, without Pelosi’s action.

Pelosi claimed impeaching Trump was a matter of “urgency.” She said our very government and Constitution were at stake.

She continues to accuse Trump of all kinds of abuses. So, why hasn’t she sent over these articles to get this over with?

Every day she delays is another day a “criminal” is in the White House, according to her estimate. Why wait at all?

It’s because she knows this impeachment was a sham from day one. Trump is being impeached over non-crimes.

Pelosi knows the right thing for the Senate to do is dismiss this immediately. Better yet, they can hold a trial and let Trump clear his name before the entire country.

But holding onto the articles means she can hold this over Trump’s head forever.

It seems the last thing Pelosi seems to care about is truth or justice.

Well, Graham is making sure she can no longer mess with our country. If she continues to act like a spoiled child, the Senate will move on their own.
It’s about time.

Graham Gives Pelosi Ultimatum, Threatens To Remove Her From Process      January 6, 2020 in Politics   Follow Martywalsh 

After months of barring House Republicans from taking part in closed-door hearings in the basement of Congress and refusing to even allow Republicans to select a single witness in the impeachment charade -- Democrats are now trying to make demands for the Senate trial.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is refusing to send the articles of impeachment to the GOP-controlled Senate.

But Senate Judiciary Committee Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham has other ideas, telling Pelosi that is she does not transmit the articles by the end of the week, the Senate should "take matters in our own hands."

During an interview on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures," Graham accused Pelosi of playing political games and trying to exert control over the Senate trial by keeping it from starting.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell stated last week the chamber's rules prevented him from doing anything until Pelosi does her part, but Graham proposed a solution that could remove what McConnell has called an "impasse" in the process.

"What I would do, if she continues to refuse to send the articles as required by the Constitution, I would work with Senator McConnell to change the rules of the Senate so we could start the trial without her, if necessary," Graham proposed.

When asked how long he would wait before taking this step, Graham replied, "Days, not weeks."

Graham justified this by claiming Pelosi was engaging in a "political stunt" by holding off on sending the impeachment articles to the Senate, weeks after they were approved by a House vote. 

He said McConnell would not let her dictate how events unfold.

"Well, we’re not going to let Nancy Pelosi use the rules of the Senate to her advantage. This is dangerous to the presidency as an institution," Graham said. 

Graham added: "They impeached the president, but the speaker of the House is holding the articles back, trying to extort from the majority leader of the Senate a trial to her liking. They’re trying to hold these articles over the head of the president."

The South Carolina lawmaker then detailed how he thinks the trial to go, allowing both sides to present arguments before determining whether witnesses were needed.

"We’ll use the Clinton model, where you take the record established in the House, let the House managers appointed by Pelosi make the argument, let the president make his argument why the two articles are flawed, and then we’ll decide whether we want witnesses. But this should be done in a couple of weeks," he said.

Graham expressed hope the Senate could conclude the impeachment trial before the end of January, but reiterated that this may require the Senate to push Pelosi out of the equation.

"If we don’t get the articles this week, then we need to take matters in our own hands and change the rules, deem them to be delivered to the Senate so we can start the trial, invite the House over to participate if they would like," he said. "If they don’t come, dismiss the case and get on with governing the country."

Beyond that, it's about time the Republicans stood up to this phony impasse.
