A North Carolina hunter says he bagged a massive wild hog weighing 500 pounds, reports WNCT's Katie Banks.
"It was very surreal," the hunter, Jett Webb, told the station. "It was a shock. It was very humbling to say the least, when you walk up on a beast that big and you say, 'Oh my gosh. I had no idea that there could be something that big running around the woods of Eastern North Carolina

Webb spotted the hog last month in Bertie County on land leased by a local hunting club. Other hunters had been vying for it since capturing it on trail cameras.
"The Mohawk down the back, the tusks really lean, the muscular big front end," Webb said. "This is far from a domesticated docile pig that we're used to."
Mike Mansell, president of the White Oak Ranch  Hunting Club, said a hog this size was rare.

"It takes your breath away for a second to realize how big this hog is," he said. "It took up the entire bed of the pick-up truck."
Mansell said the pig was part of a growing wild boar population.
"They're a species that is invasive," he said. "Once you have them, you're not going to get rid of them. They just continue to multiply."
Webb killed a similar-sized pig two years ago that is now mounted on the walls of the hunting club. But this time around, he chose only to take the meat - filling two coolers to the brim.
"We're not going to waste anything," Webb said. "So that pig will provide food for me and my family for a good year
As for any skeptics, Webb swore that his picture was not photo-shopped.
It is an experience that will go down in his record books.
"I just set out to put a little meat in the freezer," he said. "But afterwards I was completely blown away."
