Action Alert!

BATFE poised to ban entire class of rifle ammunition

BATFE seeks ammunition ban

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) is poised to ban an entire class of rifle ammunition -- and we have to stop them!
Background information can be found here (link is external). In brief:
Having failed to enact a federal ban on the AR-15, America’s most popular rifle, [President Obama is] now using the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to do the next best thing. BATFE is now proposing to ban a whole class of common rifle ammunition used in that overwhelmingly popular firearm.
The BATFE is taking public comments on the proposed ammunition ban until March 16th, so there's still time to make your voice heard!
Here's what you can do to stop the BATFE from enacting this backdoor gun control measure:
1. Send email to the BATFE at APAComments@atf.gov (link sends e-mail) (follow the instructions at the link for submitting comments).
2. If you prefer to send a letter, mail it to:
Denise Brown, Mailstop 6N-602, Office of Regulatory Affairs, Enforcement Programs and Services, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, 99 New York Avenue, NE, Washington, DC 20226: ATTN: AP Ammo Comments.
3. Contact your members of Congress and tell them to oppose the BATFE's backdoor gun ban. Call 202-224-3121
4. You can also contact you congressmen via email at this link (link is external), provided by our friends at the National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action.
