Oh, By the Way: That Mosque Obama Visited Has Been Under Surveillance Since 2010
Well done, Mr. President.
As you know, President Barack Obama visited the Islamic Society of Baltimore yesterday. As it turns out, that mosque has been under FBI investigation since 2010 because a member was planning to bomb an Army recruiting center.
Yeah. Maybe the president of these United States could have picked a better place to deliver a speech.
The would-be attacker is Antonio Martinez, but he also goes by the more Muslimy name of Muhammad Hussain. He told other worshipers at the mosque that he could supply them with bomb-making materials. Whether or not anybody took him up on the offer is not clear at this time.
Maybe that’s why the mosque is under surveillance.
Hussain’s belief that he’s required to kill people serving in the U.S. military is derived from the Koran’s commandment to “fight those who fight you.”
Color us silly, but we think there might be more than one way to interpret that verse.
