Late Night TV Hosts Sound Off on Orlando Shooting Tragedy

See how Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, and Conan O'Brien addressed the ‪#‎OrlandoShooting on their perspective shows last night

I have to wonder who instructs or pays these late show hosts to give comments on occurrences like this ? They all speak with that "subdued, concerned" voice, hoping every one will pay attention to their words. Because they are well liked and have huge audiences, some one is banking on everyone listening and believing every word and doing whatever they say.

Do they really think I'm going to hand over my gun, just because "Conan O'Brian says I should ?
I've no problem with the hosts giving their condolences, but they should keep their political views to themselves.
Lets keep entertainment shows just that....Entertainment........leave the political views for the sunday morning discussions

On Monday, many of the hosts of late night TV addressed the tragic mass shooting in Orlando, Fla. Stephen Colbert opened The Late Show by saying, “Naturally, we each ask ourselves, ‘What can you possibly say in the face of this horror?’ But then, sadly, you realize you know what to say, because it has been said too many times before.”

Conan O’Brien, who usually stays away from political issues, felt compelled to comment on gun violence in the U.S. He made an emotional plea: “I simply do not understand why anybody in this country is allowed to purchase and own a semiautomatic assault rifle. It makes no sense to me. These are weapons of war and they have no place in civilian life. … I wanted to take just a moment here tonight to agree with the rapidly growing sentiment in America that it’s time to grow up and figure this out.”

Jimmy Fallon optimistically hoped for more acceptance in the country. He said, “Maybe there’s a lesson from all this — a lesson in tolerance. We need to support each other’s differences and worry less about our own opinions. Get back to debate and away from believing or supporting the idea that if someone doesn’t live the way you want them to live, you just buy a gun and kill them.
