Report: FBI Elements Colluded with Trump's Enemies

A bombshell report from the New York Post claims that the FBI teamed with a Democratic opposition research group to push the infamous “Russia dossier”—the widely-discredited document that sparked Trump’s Russia scandal.

Paul Sperry of the Post wrote that Fusion GPS, a major leftwing oppo-research group that was closely tied to the Clinton campaign, hired a retired British spy, Christopher Steele, to help dig up dirt on Trump. Steele and Fusion GPS then wrote the dossier and began shopping it around Washington.
In August 2016, the dossier wound up in the hands of the FBI. Despite the fact that the dossier, according to Sperry, was “riddled with errors in fact and questionable sourcing,” they hired Steele in October to corroborate the dirt he had dug up on Trump—paying him $50,000 for his services.

Sperry explained that the dossier, despite being “for the most part worthless,” was integral in helping the FBI find cause to launch their investigation into Trump—with the bureau “using it for investigative leads on Trump associates like Carter Page, even though former FBI Director James Comey this month described the dossier as ‘salacious and unverified.’”

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said this shocking behavior on the part of the FBI “raises substantial questions about [their] independence”, and their ability to properly investigate Trump.

The Senate is now demanding to see any communications between Fusion GPS, the FBI, and the Justice Department—which could have major consequences.

Sperry wrote: “The Senate Judiciary Committee is also investigating whether the FBI has wrongly relied on the anti-Trump dossier and its author, Christopher Steele… to aid its ongoing espionage investigation into the Trump campaign and its possible ties to Moscow.”

But “like Fusion GPS, the FBI has failed to cooperate with congressional investigators seeking documents,” Sperry said.

In an interview with Fox and Friends, Sperry spelled out just how big of a disaster this revelation could be for Democrasts. "Not only is the Senate now investigating officially the Obama administration for obstruction of justice, but they're also investigating the origins of this discredited dossier that Democrats used to launch their witch hunt against Trump on Russia," Sperry said. "And that witch hunt could backfire on them now if this really heats up... with subpoenas, hearings, and also possibly a criminal investigation down the road."

“This whole thing is really starting to smell rotten,” added Sperry.
