When he was asked about accusations by President Joe Biden that he is a “killer,” the Russian president responded by implying that the United States may have directed the killing of Ashli Babbitt.
Babbit was a military veteran who was shot dead by a Capitol Hill Police Officer during the January 6 riots, despite presenting no threat of violence.
“Did you order the assassination of the woman who walked into Congress?” Putin asked the NBC reporter.
The killing of Ashli Babbit is certainly controversial, and while few have actually suggested she may have been killed on the orders of the government, the fact that the identity of the killer has remained shrouded in mystery has raised many eyebrows. And President Putin knows that.
Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar, a Republican, accused the cop who killed Babbit of “lying in wait” to shoot her. He made the claim during a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing on Tuesday. He also voted against new legislation that would give all police officers who were working on the day of the January 6 riot Gold Medals of Honor.
Why weren’t the police officers who dealt with the unprecedented violent riots caused by Antifa and Black Lives Matter over the last year given Medals of Honor?
Gosar also described Babbit’s death as an “execution” and said that the police officer responsible for her death “gave no warning before killing her.”
The FBI still won’t release the name of the officer responsible.
Perhaps Putin (sort of) has a point on this…
