Jordan Lays Out Timeline For Biden Impeachment Inquiry November 13, 2023 Jon Dougherty Conservative Brief
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan has laid out a timeline for when the GOP-controlled House will make a decision on whether to move forward with an official impeachment of President Joe Biden. On Sunday, the Ohio Republican said a decision on whether to proceed will most likely be made shortly after the first of the year, according to Newsweek.
“The House Oversight Committee is currently conducting an inquiry into the Biden family after then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, a Republican from California, announced the investigation in early September,” the outlet reported on Sunday.
“At the center of the Biden impeachment inquiry is his alleged involvement in his son Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings. The White House has repeatedly denied that the president ever had any involvement in his son’s business,” the outlet continued.
Last week, Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) signed subpoenas for first son Hunter Biden and the president’s brother, James Biden, along with additional members of their family. Also, Comer signed off on a subpoena for Rob Walker, who is a former business associate of Hunter.
The first son has been requested to appear for a closed-door deposition on Dec. 13, while James Biden “is expected to attend a deposition on December 6 and Walker is scheduled for November 29,” Newsweek reported.
Jordan, who is also a member of the Oversight Committee, revealed to Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday how he sees the impeachment timeline playing out.
