DENVER (AP) — The U.S. and Canadian military will entertain millions of kids
again this Christmas Eve with second-by-second updates on Santa's global
whereabouts. But there's something new this year: public criticism.
A children's advocacy group says an animated video on the NORAD Tracks Santa
website injects militarism into Christmas by showing fighter jets escorting
Santa's sleigh. It's a rare swipe at the popular program, which last year
attracted a record 22.3 million unique visitors from around the world to its
website. The North American Aerospace Defense Command defends the video as
nonthreatening and safe for kids. The kerfuffle erupted two weeks ago over a 39-second video on noradsanta.org
called "NORAD Tracks Santa Trailer Video 2013." A 5-second segment of the video — which is also available on youtube.com —

Men dressed as Santas show up for an epic pub crawl, and later spread Christmas cheer and joy throughout the Big Apple in the form of, er, urine and vomit. Think of this as a Father Christmas flash mob, with no real leadership but a growing annual membership base. A group of men wearing Santa suits got into a brawl near Union Square that was caught on video Saturday night, cops said. “We’re looking into it,” said NYPD spokesman Sgt. Lee Jones said after the Daily News notified cops of the video that was posted on YouTube. “We don’t have any reported assaults right now. We know about it.”

Authorities are dramatically revising the response time of law enforcement officers to the Arapahoe High School shooting on Friday. Originally, it was claimed by multiple outlets that responding law enforcement agencies took 14 minutes to arrive at the school, and that the shooter was not located until 30 minutes into the event. WASHINGTON (AP) — The fired chief of staff for Tennessee Sen. Lamar Alexander
will live with his parents in Maryland and be electronically monitored while he
awaits prosecution on charges of possession and attempted distribution of child
pornography. A federal judge allowed Ryan Loskarn to be released from custody after a
hearing Monday. Loskarn's lawyers argued that the 35-year-old had no prior
convictions or arrests and that he should be freed. Prosecutors opposed the
request. Magistrate Judge John Facciola ordered Loskarn to be confined to his parents'
home on the monitor and isn't allowed any access to the Internet. Loskarn's parents appeared in court, and his father stood with his arm around
his wife as she told the judge that they have no home computer and that
cellphones and iPads are password protected. They promised to ensure their son
would have no access to the Internet. They have no young children living in the
home, they told the judge. Loskarn's parents declined comment after the

Barack Obama is not only removing senior officials from the U.S. military, but he’s also donating weapons to security forces in Muslim countries. Unclassified excerpts of a study obtained by the Associated Press show that security forces in Afghanistan were given new helicopters courtesy of the Pentagon. The Obama Administration purchased 63 Russian Mi-17 rotorcrafts at a cost of more than $1 billion.
The Mi-17s were acquired through a contract awarded without competition to Rosoboronexport, a notoriously corrupt arms export agency in Moscow. In addition to the absurdity of giving weapons to other countries, the Mi-17s weren’t even the most cost effective choice for a helicopter. A Boeing helicopter known as the Chinook was found to be “the most cost-effective single platform type fleet for the Afghan Air Force over a twenty year period,” according to the study. However, a document from an internal Defense Contract Audit Agency “shows that the department could not conduct a comprehensive cost comparison because Rosoboronexport wouldn’t allow U.S. auditors to look at its books.” Meanwhile, costs are being cut within the U.S. military as hundreds of senior officials have been released and all U.S. commissaries are likely being closed starting in 2015. Commissaries are grocery stores that offer discounted food and essentials to military members and their families, and currently receive a total of $1.4 billion in government funding so military families can save an average of 30 percent on their groceries. But as Congress seeks to cut costs by any means necessary, they are also removing jobs for military spouses by removing the commissaries. These spouses currently comprise up to 30 percent of the workforce at these grocery stores
Larry the Cable Guy has hilariously slammed Barack Obama and the Obamacare plan in a new Fox News interview. The comedian has long been a Republican and a critic of Obama’s policies, but had plenty to say about the Affordable Care Act when speaking with Sean Hannity.
In the interview, Larry the Cable Guy said he had finally figured out the specifics of the Obamacare plan on the healthcare.gov website. “It’s a disaster, but I have figured out the bronze plan. The bronze plan is the color your finger’s gonna look like after you give yourself a prostate exam,” he jokes. “The gold plan is when you start to miss your wedding ring after you had to pay for the deductible. The silver plan is what color your hair is gonna be after you’re done signing up for it.”
The comedian also ripped Obama for the paltry amount of people who have registered so far for Obamacare. “60,000 people signed up at one point. Art Linkletter has more Twitter followers than that and he’s been dead for many years,” said Larry the Cable Guy. “I’ve eaten more girl scout cookies than 60,000.”Last September, Larry the Cable Guy took to Twitter and slammed Obamacare in a series of posts. “It’s be nice if it could stopped and reworked. This was an albatross shoved down our throats that we had no voice in,” he tweeted. “What’s the harm? Why rush into something that’s gonna be a disaster for most folks?
