FL Shooting Hero Calls Out CNN, 'Scripted Questions'

The Wednesday CNN town hall promoting gun bans and moderated by

Jake Tapper was arguably a train wreck from the beginning. Between a

student saying Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) reminded him of the

shooter and shouts of ‘murderer’ at NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch,

it was out of control. But in the wee hours of Thursday morning,

things got worse for the anti-gun network when the local Florida ABC

affiliate WPLG-TV reported that CNN had been planting questions.

The whistleblower was Colton Haab, a student at Marjory Stoneman

Douglas High School who heroically shielded his fellow students from

the bullets with sheets of Kevlar and was a member of the Junior ROTC

program. “I expected to be able to ask my questions and give my

opinion on my questions,” Haab told reporter Janine Stanwood.

“CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions, and it

ended up being all scripted,” Haab added. “I don’t think that it’s going

to get anything accomplished. It’s not going to ask the true questions

that all the parents and teachers and students have.”

Stanwood noted that being given scripted questions was something

Haab couldn’t stand for: “Colton wrote questions about school safety,

suggested using veterans as armed school security guards, but

claims CNN wanted him to ask a scripted question instead. So he

decided not to go.”

A check of their November 12 coverage showed both CNN and MSNBC gave enthusiastic coverage to the Russian-organized anti-Trump rally that day, with live reports every hour. Correspondents celebrated the idea that it was “a love rally,” and repeated the marchers’ anti-Trump mantras, such as: “We reject the President-elect.”

The news media is really going hard on this latest gun control

push after the horrific shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas

High School in Parkland, Florida. I mean we’ve reached new

levels on insanity when it comes to peddling the

talking points. We all know liberals want to ban AR-15s and

other so-called assault weapons, which is lefty speak for this

gun scares me and I’m too close-minded, scared, or stupid to

try shooting one for myself. We all know this is going to

expandto banning high capacity magazines, expanding back-

ground checks, which will have a database component; it’s

not effective without one regarding private sales, which by

the way—are mostly relegated to family members. It’s a

confiscatory ethos that liberals have with gun politics, which

is why we cannot give up an inch. Give them an inch; they’ll

take several thousand miles. Period.

Now, the news media crew has an endless stream of students

spouting misinformation about gun laws and straight up

peddling pure nonsense on thissubject. It keeps the narrative

alive. Then, we have MSNBC, which trotted out a would-be

school shooter, Aaron Stark, who questioned the need for an

AR-15 rifle. The Free Beacon clipped the exchange. Katy Tur

interviewed him:

The Second Amendment is in serious trouble

The leftist push for gun control in the wake of a Florida school shooting took a turn for the bizarre — and creepy — Tuesday morning, after a billboard in Louisville, Kentucky was vandalized with the words, “KILL THE NRA.”

The billboard is apparently “calling out the National Rifle Association following the recent school shootings in Kentucky and Florida,” according to local media. The message was signed, “Resist 45” — the calling card of a local Kentucky group that “opposes President Donald Trump” (to put it mildly) — likely some of the same people who have been suggesting Republicans have “blood on their hands” for supporting gun rights.

The sign fails on several fronts. For starters, it’s difficult to “kill” an organization that has millions of members. More importantly, however, it defeats the purpose of calling for “peace” in the wake of a violent incident to call for the systematic elimination of other human beings.

The NRA was quick to respond, sharing photos of the billboard on Facebook with the message, “this is a wakeup call. They’re coming after us.” So far, the NRA’s post has been shared nearly 70,000 times.

First, we learn the mainstream media’s school shooting darling is the son of an FBI agent (retired). Then he goes on television ranting against President Trump when the deadly Florida school shooting last week — it turns out — was more the fault of the FBI than anyone even close to the White House.

Hogg ranted live on CNN and CBS and all other networks as his anti-Trump and anti-GOP gun control comments went viral in the mainstream media vacuum.

Liberal nationwide applauded.

But now we learn Hogg was hanging out at CNN headquarters in Atlanta, GA sometime Before the school shooting. Before the shooting. Posing behind an news anchor desk? Perhaps Hogg’s career dream is to sign on with the network — a young Jake Tapper — as he has portrayed himself since the deadly shooting that claimed 17 students as a “student journalist and entrepreneur.”

Welcome to the Big Leagues.

The kid who has been running his mouth about how Donald Trump and the GOP are teaming to help murder high school kids by upholding the Second Amendment is the son of an FBI agent.

And while the media allowed Hogg to adorn us with his worldly teen views on the Constitution, they conveniently left out the part where the FBI was warned that the Florida school shooter had promised to shoot up a school — at least twice — long before the massacre that killed 17 students last week.

Scalise: There's No 'Magic Law' That Can Stop Mass Shootings

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) spoke Thursday evening on Fox about the tragic school shooting in Parkland, Florida and his problems with the Democrats’ immediate push for gun control in response to the shooting. Scalise, himself the victim of a shooting in June, also emphasized the importance of prayer in reponse to such tragedies, saying prayer helped him and his family when he was fighting for his life in the hospital last year.

“Any time there is any kind of tragedy, either shooting or bombing whatever, immediately you've got a group of legislators that go run out and start calling for gun control to take away the rights of law-abiding citizens,” Scalise told Fox’s Laura Ingraham. “Look at their bills, read their bills, they have nothing to do with these kinds of shootings.”

“If you think there’s some magic, unicorn law that’s going to stop it from happening, just keep in mind that he violated probably dozens of laws already, including murdering people,” he said. “That's against the law."

After days of bitter hurt, anger, deep savage argument, and plenty of non-thinking social media trolls blurting whatever comes to mind through their thumbs, it’s time we as Americans begin a genuine discussion about how to stop the next school shooting from occurring.

It’s important that we do this even though gun deaths are by no means the most dangerous form of death in America today.

In 2017, with 300,000,000-plus guns in the hands of Americans, there were 15,549 gun deaths. This ranks less than half the number of automobile deaths even though there are fewer cars in existence than guns. In 2017, there were 253,000,000 cars in existence and 41,000 auto deaths.

Nonetheless, the rhetoric is so loud and the anger so tightly wound that a way forward needs to begin. Genuinely good people on both sides of this issue disagree. Pro-gun people believe that owning a gun is one step of many in helping to keep their families safe and their government from becoming too tyrannical. Anti-gun people believe that the mere existence of a gun is a danger to all. But note that both sets of people desire safety in general.

With very little expertise, but with a robust research ability, my staff and I began looking at this issue this week from the perspective of what could be done that would be tangible, but also acceptable to both sides of the discussion. Here’s seven simple steps that can and should be implemented overnight across the country and in similar fashion school shootings would be eliminated. This list is not exhaustive but is a starting point where good-willed people can come together to make a significant difference now.

Maybe it’s the proliferation of social media in our daily lives that has
exposed us to this insanity, but we’ve seriously gone off the deep
end. For some abortions rights supporters apparently, the Florida
shooter wouldn’t have been able to commit this tragic crime if his
birth mother had aborted him. That’s what Israeli-American reporter
and former MTV Europe VJ Becky Griffin insinuated on Twitter.

“Woman puts baby up for adoption, he grows up to be a violent
youngman who will spend the rest of his life in prison for a mass
murder. Tellme more about how abortions are wrong,” she tweeted.

Well, you can see how this turned out. It was a total dumpster fire,
or at least that’s what we can obtain from her other subsequent
tweets inwhich she complains how her timeline has blown up, and
how Twitter is a mob of fools. Oh, she says she wants to have a
conversation, butnot with a mob. Translation: I only want to talk
about abortion with people who agree with me; nice End of
Discussion play right there. It’s not that she’s wrong, folks. It’s just
that we’re all out of touch or something.

Facebook’s Vice President of Ads, Rob Goldman, tweeted

last night his excitement in the charges brought forth by

the FBI against Russian actors who attempted to influence

the 2016 presidential election. Goldman also trashed the

media's coverage of Russian interference, asserting that

many are intentionally ignoring key facts in order to fit the

“main media narrative of Trump and the election.”

Yesterday, Special counsel Robert Mueller indicted 13

Russian nationals for “interfering in the U.S. election

process. In a detailed 37-page report, the FBI explains how

the defendants used false identities to stage political

protests, rallies, and recruit Americans in their conspiracy,”

as noted by Cortney. Deputy Attorney General Rod

Rosenstein emphasized that no American knew they were

“communicating with Russians.”

After those statements, Goldman took to Twitter to explain

Facebook’s role in the ongoing investigation. He pointed

out a glaring fact that most anti-Trumpers refuse to accept

- a majority of the Russian interference via Facebook

occurred after the election and swaying the outcome of the

presidential race was not the main goal.

PYEONGCHANG, South Korea – Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised that Americans are now rooting for their fellow Americans to fail at the Olympic Games.
First it was Adam Rippon, then Lindsey Vonn, then Gus Kenworthy. All three dared to speak out critically against the leaders of our country, something that is about as American as apple pie, and very much in keeping with the First Amendment.
But exercising that right comes at a cost these days for America’s athletes. A sizable slice of the American public has decided that their allegiance to President Trump and Vice President Pence supercedes their red, white and blue devotion to their countrymen and women competing abroad in the largest regularly scheduled peacetime gathering of the world.
One would think that because criticism of Trump is so widespread across the country, his fans would ignore it by now. They didn’t lose the election; they won it. Declare victory, move on and wave the flag when Rippon takes the ice or Vonn and Kenworthy take to the slopes.
But no. These anti-American Americans become so rattled by the honest exchange of opinions that their anger gets the best of them. Then they end up treating a once-in-a-generation U.S. sports icon like Vonn as if she were a mortal enemy from the old CCCP.
