Why Don’t We Have A “Mayors Against Cars?” Posted by BearingArms.com Staff on April 29, 2015
35,369 people died in motor vehicle accidents in 2013. Just 505 died in gun accidents.
You are more than 70 times more likely to be killed by a driver than someone mishandling a gun.

So, we're back to "assault rifles"

Hillary Equates Gun Owners With Terrorists, Says They Are “Prone to Violence.”
Posted by Bob Owens on April 30, 2015

Democrat Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton thinks that “gun free zone” signs work, twice claims that modern sporting rifles are “automatic weapons,” and states that owners of the most popular rifle sold in the United States today are a small group “that terrorizes the majority of people.”
The June 17, 2014 interview shows just how out of touch Clinton is with a nation where the majority of people in this country who favor gun rights. Clinton went on to bizarrely claim that those who do not bow to her views on gun control are “prone to violence.”
Gun owners in general, and concealed carry permit holders in specific, are far more law abiding than the average citizen.

I feel for the children, BUT....Who's fault is it that the city is the way it is ?? Always someone else's fault

Baltimore Children Express Fears, Frustrations

By  Tracy Jarrett
The children of the Reservoir Hill section of Baltimore play less than a mile away from the CVS that was set ablaze during violent protests on Monday. They say that they have had enough; they are ready to see change in their neighborhood.
"I feel mad because they [looters] are destroying our community," 11-year-old Asia told NBCBLK.
Asia's grandmother used to get her medications at the devastated CVS and it makes her nervous to think about what her grandmother will now have to do to pick up her prescriptions.
"It makes me feel sad and scared because people are blowing things up," said nine-year-old Ma'qui. "They [looters] are blowing things up, they are throwing bricks at cops, and they was right around the corner from my home and that made me feel unsafe and scared."
Ma'qui said her mother has been crying over the safety of Ma'qui and her siblings all week.
"The people that are rioting, I would like them to change for the better not the worse," said 11-year-old Jamel. He doesn't understand why protestors would get violent even after the Gray family publicly denounced looting in response to their son's death.
"I want to live in a place that's not trash. I want to only live in a clean city," said six-year old Dante.
Dante said he is mad and doesn't feel like he can trust policemen.
Asia, Ma'qui, Jamel, and Dante are just four of the forty-two children in Reservoir Hill that attend an afterschool program for kids ages 5 to 14 at the St. Francis Neighborhood Center where they do their homework, make art, play, and are fed dinner during the week. And to     the above paragraph, "where  are the      parents" ??

Father's Letter to Principal Over Family's Boston Marathon Vacation Goes Viral  Christine Rousselle | Apr 29, 2015

Pennsylvania father Michael Rossi took his two children, Jack and Victoria, out of school for three days for a family trip to Boston while he ran the Boston Marathon. After the family returned home, they were informed by their school that their children's absences will be treated as "unexcused," and that an additional unexcused absence will result in a criminal complaint against the family for truancy.
Rossi responded to this ridiculousness with the following letter, which has since gone viral and has been shared over 25,000 times on Facebook:
So we received this letter from the kids' school today. Here's my response. What do you think?
Dear Madam Principal,
While I appreciate your concern for our children's education, I can promise you they learned as much in the five days we were in Boston as they would in an entire year in school.
Our children had a once-in-a-lifetime experience, one that can't be duplicated in a classroom or read in a book.
In the 3 days of school they missed (which consisted of standardized testing that they could take any time) they learned about dedication, commitment, love, perseverance, overcoming adversity, civic pride, patriotism, American history culinary arts and physical education.
They watched their father overcome, [sic] injury, bad weather, the death of a loved one and many other obstacles to achieve an important personal goal.
They also experienced first-hand the love and support of thousands of others cheering on people with a common goal.
At the marathon, they watched blind runners, runners with prosthetic limbs and debilitating diseases and people running to raise money for great causes run in the most prestigious and historic marathon in the world.
They also paid tribute to the victims of a senseless act of terrorism and learned that no matter what evil may occur, terrorists can not deter the American spirit.
These are things they won't ever truly learn in the classroom.
In addition our children walked the Freedom Trail, visited the site of the Boston Tea Party, the Boston Massacre and the graves of several signers of the Declaration of Independence.
These are things they WILL learn in school a year or more from now. So in actuality our children are ahead of the game.
They also visited an aquarium, sampled great cuisine and spent many hours of physical activity walking and swimming.
We appreciate the efforts of the wonderful teachers and staff and cherish the education they are receiving at Rydal Elementary School. We truly love our school.
But I wouldn't hesitate to pull them out of school again for an experience like the one they had this past week.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Michael Rossi     Father

Baltimore’s violent protesters are right: Smashing police cars is a legitimate political strategy ?????

Eyewitnesses: The Baltimore Riots Didn't Start the Way You Think  Baltimore teachers and parents tell a different story from the one you've been reading in the media.—By Sam Brodey and Jenna McLaughlin   Tue Apr. 28, 2015

Patrick Semansky/AP

After Baltimore police and a crowd of teens clashed near the Mondawmin Mall in northwest Baltimore on Monday afternoon, news reports described the violence as a riot triggered by kids who had been itching for a fight all day. But in interviews with Mother Jones and other media outlets, teachers and parents maintain that police actions inflamed a tense-but-stable situation.
The funeral of Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old black man who died in police custody this month, had ended hours earlier at a nearby church. According to the Baltimore Sun, a call to "purge"—a reference to the 2013 dystopian film in which all crime is made legal for one night—circulated on social media among school-aged Baltimoreans that morning. The rumored plan—which was not traced to any specific person or group—was to assemble at the Mondawmin Mall at 3 p.m. and proceed down Pennsylvania Avenue toward downtown Baltimore. The Baltimore Police Department, which was aware of the "purge" call, prepared for the worst. Shortly before noon, the department issued a statement saying it had "received credible information that members of various gangs…have entered into a partnership to 'take-out' law enforcement officers."

'Philly is Baltimore' rally planned for Thursday outside City Hall Jeff Gammage, Inquirer Staff Writer Wednesday, April 29, 2015

Organizers expect a "Philly is Baltimore" protest to draw at least 1,000 people to City Hall on Thursday.
The goal, said Deandra Jefferson, a Temple University student and leader of the Philadelphia Coalition for Racial, Economic, and Legal (REAL) Justice, is to support protesters in Baltimore and speak out against police violence."Under the right conditions, Philadelphia could be a Baltimore," Jefferson said. "It's something we need to talk about. It's not just a Baltimore issue. It's a nationwide issue."The rally, set for 4:30 p.m. at 15th and Market streets, asks Philadelphians to "stand with the people of Baltimore who are rising up against racist police brutality and the murder of Freddie Gray," according to a statement from REAL Justice.

A really good comment about the Orioles ballgame, right to the point.....

COMMENT.............
"Here's my take on today's Orioles game: baseball is for the fans. Baseball is nothing without the fans. If you don't want to put pressure on law enforcement, fine. Postpone the game. You get a logjam in the schedule, deal with it. Don't play a game and lock the loyal fans (most of whom are law abiding citizens) out!"

Emphasizing ridiculousness, there are fans at Orioles Park at Camden Yard, just not in the ballpark

National Guardsmen took up positions, but I didn't see them do anything....ARE THEY ARMED ??

Baltimore on edge: National Guardsmen take up positions         AP News | Apr 28, 2015

National Guardsmen took up positions across the city and hundreds of volunteers swept broken glass and other debris from the streets Tuesday, the morning after riots erupted following the funeral of a black man who died in police custody.

Maryland National Guard spokesman Lt. Charles Kohler said that about 2,000 members would be deployed through the day and that the force could build to 5,000.

Also, State Police said they were putting out a call for up to 500 additional law enforcement officers from Maryland and as many as 5,000 from around the mid-Atlantic region.

A Failure of Civility In Baltimore    Posted by Bob Owens on April 28, 2015

    Embedded image permalink

The residents of Baltimore woke up this morning to look through a smoke-filled dawn to see the shadowy figures of Maryland National Guard soldiers patrolling the streets in full “battle rattle.”
For many, it will be too little, too late. Their homes and businesses are shattered glass and ash.
But the residents of Baltimore have no one but themselves to blame.
Streets in Baltimore looked like a war zone Tuesday morning after a night of riots, fires and heartbreak.
“Too many people have spent generations building up this city for it to be destroyed by thugs who — in a very senseless way — are trying to tear down what so many have fought for,” Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake said.
Buildings and cars across the city were engulfed in flames. About a dozen businesses were looted or damaged. At least 15 officers were wounded, six of them seriously, the police commissioner said.
…
Pockets of violence broke out Saturday amid protests against Gray’s death. But the spark that ignited Monday’s pandemonium probably started with high school students on social media.
An online flier advertised a “purge” after school Monday, starting at Baltimore’s Mondawmin Mall, The Baltimore Sun reported.
The film “The Purge” is about a dystopian society in which all laws are suspended for one 24-hour period every year.
This wasn’t about low-level drug dealer Freddie Gray dying under very troubling circumstances in police custody. Those rioting didn’t know Gray and didn’t care about him, or even seriously care about allegations of police abuse.
This wasn’t about poverty, either, as there are poorer communities around the nation who would never dream of acting in such a manner.
No, this is about looting, and street piracy, and in the terms of the street, “getting me mines.”
So far, the injuries being reported by the media are primarily to police officers, who have shown incredible restraint—too much restraint—in dealing with the rampaging mobs.
It’s too difficult at this time to determine the extent of the damage, but it is known that numerous fires were set by arsonists among the looters, who incredibly cut fire hoses and attacked firemen who were attempting to put out the flames.
We’re hearing this morning—but can only confirm anecdotally—that some stores inside the riot zones were not destroyed because their owners took up arms to defend their businesses against the looters in a visible display of force.
Unfortunately, Maryland is a “may issue” state in terms of concealed carry, and a “no issue” state in terms of application of that government discretion. An average citizen simply cannot legally carry a handgun for self-defense in Maryland, and the perfect firearms to conclusively put down mass riots like this—semi-automatic, magazine-fed rifles fed with standard-capacity magazines—are also outlawed.
I hope you have shotguns, folks.
How many times do we need to see the basic fact that the government cannot and will not protect you before people learn that they are their first responders?
This is what Garand and Lawson warned against in their book A Failure of Civility.
You are responsible for your self-defense. You are responsible for your own medical care.
If you aren’t prepared to defend your family, why should you expect the police to swoop in and save that which you didn’t defend?

DUBAI/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Iranian forces boarded a Marshall Islands-flagged cargo ship in the Gulf on Tuesday after patrol boats fired warning shots across its bow and ordered it deeper into Iranian waters, the Pentagon said.
U.S. planes and a destroyer were monitoring the situation after the vessel, the MV Maersk Tigris, made a distress call in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important oil shipping channels.

OBAMA ACTUALLY CONDEMNED THE RIOTS IN BALTIMORE ??

Baltimore Reels After Freddie Gray Protests Descend Into Chaos

Maryland's Governor Working to Get 'Baltimore Back on Track' NBC News

Police and National Guard troops deployed across Baltimore on Tuesday after riots and looting shook the city. As people swept up broken glass and ashes, the governor vowed "overwhelming" law enforcement to keep the peace during the tense night ahead.
"What happened last night is not going to happen again," Gov. Larry Hogan told reporters.
The city kept its schools closed and prepared for a curfew that was to begin Tuesday night — no one on the streets after 10 p.m. except for medical emergencies and people going to work.
The Baltimore Orioles, whose Camden Yards ballpark is not far from the site of the worst violence on Monday night, canceled their game with the Chicago White Sox for the second straight night.
Almost 200 people were arrested, 144 cars set on fire and 15 buildings set ablaze on Monday night after police clashed with angry crowds, the mayor's office said.
President Barack Obama, speaking at a joint news conference with Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, said "There's no excuse for the kind of violence that we saw yesterday.
"That is not a protest. That is not a statement. It's a handful of people taking advantage of the situation for their own purposes, and they need to be treated as criminals," Obama said.

I can’t believe Hillary said that out loud

If I could point to one thing in Washington, D.C. that lies at the very core of all the problems we face today, it's this . . .

It's the elitist belief that the Washington machine knows best for each and every one of us -- that bureaucrats can run our lives better than we can.

This is the mindset that threatens the very survival of freedom in America.

And it's the mindset that was on full display when Hillary Clinton stated last week that Americans' "deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed" in order to create the Big Government utopia she's dreaming of.

I'll admit my jaw hit the floor when I read that statement!

If Hillary Clinton wants to run on a platform in 2016 of gutting Americans' religious freedom in order to "fix" us, all I can say is, "Bring It On!"
