Ted Cruz defends Dinesh D’Souza against election fraud, claims CBS’ ‘Face the Nation’ cut him off for it   The GOP Texas senator was saying that D’Souza’s indictment on election fraud charges was ‘an abuse of power,’ when Bob Schieffer interrupted to say, ‘We are going to leave this for another day.’ Jefferson Siegel/New York Daily News  Jan 28th

Conservative commentator and best-selling author, Dinesh D'Souza pleaded not guilty to federal charges that he used straw donors to exceed campaign contributions to a U.S. Senate candidate in 2012

Sen. Ted Cruz is joining supporters of anti-Obama filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza, claiming the conservative pundit is being targeted with election fraud charges because of his critical rhetoric against the President.

D'Souza has accused CBS of cutting off the firebrand GOP Texas senator during his Sunday appearance on "Face the Nation" when Cruz tried to steer the conversation to D'Souza's case.

During the segment, Cruz accused the Obama administration of an "abuse of power,” asking "can you image the reaction if the Bush Administration had went, gone and prosecuted Michael Moore and Alec Baldwin and Sean Penn?" on the Sunday show.
As Cruz continued, host Bob Schieffer interrupted to say, "We are going to leave this for another day."
