Conservative commentator and best-selling author, Dinesh D'Souza pleaded not guilty to federal charges that he used straw donors to exceed campaign contributions to a U.S. Senate candidate in 2012
D'Souza has accused CBS of cutting off the firebrand GOP Texas senator during his Sunday appearance on "Face the Nation" when Cruz tried to steer the conversation to D'Souza's case.
During the segment, Cruz accused the Obama administration of an "abuse of power,” asking "can you image the reaction if the Bush Administration had went, gone and prosecuted Michael Moore and Alec Baldwin and Sean Penn?" on the Sunday show.
As Cruz continued, host Bob Schieffer interrupted to say, "We are going to leave this for another day."
